shire I got my maternity trousers from George at Asda, great fit and not skinny legged.

Tops so far from new look but need to get some smarter stuff as have a few important meetings at work coming up

OrangeBlossom2 · 07/05/2013 20:50

Glad the bleeding has stopped Bronze, still a worry even if not bright red.

Whoever mentioned calories, the nhs I think (or pregnancy books) suggest 300 extra from second trimester, but a link in their website yesterday to a website (tommy s?) suggested only 200 from 3rd trimester. I haven't been counting, just eating a bit more because I want a bit more.

I haven't felt any movement yet I don't think (16+2 with first baby).

My niece who is staying with us just threw up at dinner. Oh dear.

Shirehobbit · 07/05/2013 20:59

smitten I've gone up one back size and two cup sizes! It was a blessed relief to try some ones that actually fit, on (got by over the last few weeks on cheap Tesco sports bras Blush )

Thanks for the clothing suggestions.

Flyer747 · 07/05/2013 20:59

That's one thing I'm a bit concerned about, when you have a child and its sick, I'm crap in fact terrible with vom, the smell of it makes me want to vom myself. I work on a plane you think I'd be used to it....but no if anyone voms I literally run in the other direction. I sound like a weirdo hey! Haha

cherrycherry41 · 07/05/2013 21:02

I havent felt any movement yet, 18+3 with DC2, trying not to worry and drinking plenty of cold drinks etc to try and get a movement!

GTbaby · 07/05/2013 21:03

Flutters will turn into kicks soon. Remember the babies legs and arms are very small. And I imagine not very strong!

I still haven't got my maternity notes. West mid dont give notes until after 20week scan.

Pannacotta2013 · 07/05/2013 21:18

Hello chatty ladies!

I've moved house - we finally got the old flat clean and now are in our big 3 bed flat with a garden... with wallpaper hanging off, holes in the walls, a garden to sort, carpets half ripped up Hmm I'm very pleased about it really, there's just a lot to do before October.

I'm definitely going to try and get in the FB group, I'll email in a minute GTbaby.

My hot tip for acid indigestion and heartburn is bicarbonate of soda. Just stir a third of a teaspoon into water, it tastes slightly of salt. Acid goes immediately and you get a very satisfying burp a few minutes later.

ananikifo · 07/05/2013 21:27

flyer the smell of vomit was awful for me and I was almost sick myself but everyone says it's different with your own child and you just get on with it.

PseudoBadger · 07/05/2013 21:29

I nearly vomited yesterday when DS puked up barely digested milk. That was horrible....

Flyer747 · 07/05/2013 21:39

Yeah ananikifo my mum said that about getting on with it. My DP had a head injury and brain haemorrhage 5 yrs ago and the side effect of it wiped out all his smell, he will be on sick and poo duty. He happily picks up the dog poo with no complaints! :-)

Smitten1981 · 07/05/2013 21:40

I've had to have counselling for a vomit phobia. I just can't cope with it at all and end up in a right state.

Having said that if the dog is sick or my friends are sick I'm fine. It's just random strangers puking that I can't cope with.

I think I'll be fine with a baby as it starts off as milk and by the time they move on to solids I'm sure we'll all be used to it by then (hopefully).

Shirehobbit · 07/05/2013 21:40

I am another vomitphobic.

Shirehobbit · 07/05/2013 21:42

Xpost.
Not phobic to the point of counselling, but only been sick a few times in my entire life. Being sick myself fills me with terror.

ananikifo · 07/05/2013 21:48

DH is more the vomit phobic of the two of us. I actually think yesterday it was more residual pregnancy sickness that made me queasy and I wouldn't normally have reacted quite that way.

I am more worried about poo smells but The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding has told me that if you bf exclusively the baby's poo smells pleasantly of cheese. Hmm Yes, it really said that.

PseudoBadger · 07/05/2013 21:51

When you start weaning you long for a return to BF poo :o

roofio87 · 07/05/2013 22:22

ananifiko my sister swears her dds poo smells like watsits!!

cherrycherry41 · 07/05/2013 23:48

I think ebf poo's smell like biscuits Blush

Xiaoxiong · 07/05/2013 23:56

ananfiko DS's bf poo smelled like popcorn Smile

ananikifo · 08/05/2013 06:53

Shock I don't know what to say.

pinkbuttons · 08/05/2013 07:00

haha lovely chat to wake up to ladies Grin but I agree DS' was like popcorn. Vomit is only awful if its proper poorly vomit then it smells but then Im so worried about him I forget about it (most of the time) Also if you get a sicky baby like DS was after every feed I think you get a bit immune to it.
Glad bleeding has stopped bronze

Shootingstarsandcomets · 08/05/2013 07:34

Ds's poo smelt quite nice when he was bf, now he's on solids it's stinky! Formula fed ones smell a bit stinker as the formula is harder for them to digest. You do get used to it though.
I have my 16 week check today, hope I get to hear the heartbeat. Not feeling movement yet at 16+4 and was hoping as it was my second and I have no stomach muscles anymore that I'd feel it sooner.

ananikifo · 08/05/2013 08:15

This morning I lay really still in bed and I could feel a pulse in my lower abdomen, presumably because there's a lot of blood flow there now. Then I felt like a definite little...movement? It was not much stronger than the pulse, and in a different place, and I could describe it as a weak poke from the inside out. So I guess that's a kick, maybe? I've spent the rest of the morning hoping for it to happen again but it hasn't.

Flyer747 · 08/05/2013 08:18

Have a terrible headache so calling in sick today. The others ladies on here who kept having headaches how are they now? Still getting them or have they eased up? I'm averaging 2 per week, and horrid ones where I just want to get into bed.

ananikifo · 08/05/2013 08:27

I just started getting headaches recently at 15/16 weeks. I assumed it was dehydration/weather but drinking fluids has not helped.

I hope you feel better after some rest, flyer.

Natalieand · 08/05/2013 08:50

flyer I had migraines quite a lot in the first 12 weeks then they seemed to become less frequent I'm 17+2 now and had a really bad one yesterday.
