Morning all,

I have the consultant today and I hope she can sort things and bring reassurance to me.

I am little stressed out, ds who's birthday is 23rd Feb he is 4. I was going to leave him back off school a year as he would be the youngest of the year when starting primary 1 in Aug. The Scottish system runs march to end of Feb as cut off. However has rapidly changed in himself over the last few months that I know what him to go. Which means sorting out a place that I have turned down. The thought is over whelming the school admins not the friendliest Sad

thethreeblondies · 07/05/2013 07:32

Good luck with contacting school Falcon hopfully they can sort it easily for you, DD2 was 4 in March and starts in sept, she is very petite, but me and DH were only saying yest how she has grown up so much recently, I'm sure they will be fine Smile

TheFalconsmistress · 07/05/2013 07:43

Thanks threeblondes I hope I can too good luck to your dd starting in sep xx

Smitten1981 · 07/05/2013 08:10

Shire - it's so painful isn't it? I thought I'd had it before, but never to this degree. Quite worried that it will only probably get worse in the next few months.

I'll try with the smaller meal at dinner suggestion and see if that helps.

JellyCurls · 07/05/2013 08:12

falcon have 2 January babies and also in Scotland so ok now how you feel. Dd1 got on great and school put her in the P1 with the younger kids. Ds is not in school yet but has been denied a nursery place for when he 3 as not doing a jan intake ( too busy) and he prob won't get pre-school place either for same reason so we having to rush about trying to get him into a nursery but registrations all closed for state nurseries here.

MoN & tucking hope you are enjoying today's West coast sunshine Smile

Natalieand · 07/05/2013 08:40

Good luck falcon hope he gets into school you are hoping for. Dd doesn't start school until September 2015 when she will be just short of turning 5 cos of the way England run there school years.

Thanks for your kind wishes about dh he is waiting to see a surgeon now and they will decide from there what's best to do but yea dh is self employed but (can't remember who suggested benefits) might be worth looking into if he is going to be off for a week or two again this time if its just a few days I don't think I'll bother.

Gorgeously sunny again here today :-)

Oh your poor DH Natalie I hope they get it cleared up soon! It's not surprising you're worried about the money too, we've been sitting down trying to plan out finances and it's scary knowing you've got other people depending on you!

My hat goes off to you gt, managing the pain and a toddler must be tough. I hope you feel better and get to your bed instead of the sofa soon Flowers

Smitten if you've tried this forgive me from annoying you with pointless suggestions but have you tried the liquid Galviscon? I found it much better than either Rennie or Glavison tablets.

Oops, not sure how I double posted, sorry!

Warlin · 07/05/2013 08:56

Morning all

Had a lovely bank holiday weekend until I got hit with a vomitting bug yesterday. Sods law DS decided that sleep was for losers on Sunday night so I was up most of the night with him and floored all day yesterday. Went to bed at 8.30 last night so feeling a lot better but seem to have a chest infection now :( Thank goodness this is a shorter week.

shire my heartburn started a couple of weeks ago too and unfortunately once it starts that's it for the rest of the pregnancy! Gaviscon will become your new best friend.

DS is also young for his year (27th May bd) and cut off in NI end of June. Would seriously consider keeping him back a year but will see how he develops.

natalie sending get well vibes to dh.

I have zero motivation for work today...or at all to be honest...roll on summer hols!

Shootingstarsandcomets · 07/05/2013 08:58

Hope your dh gets better soon.
ana we live really close to chatsworth house your day there yesterday has made me want to go! It's sunny again so might skive ds' swimming lesson and spend the afternoon there instead - naughty mummy Grin
Trying not to eat too much this week as we have a wedding on Saturday and I need to fit into a non maternity dress and not look stupid! Failed already this morning and have eaten normal brekkie plus two slices of toast. You aren't supposed to need more calories until the third trimester so why am I so blooming hungry?!

TheFalconsmistress · 07/05/2013 09:03

Thanks natalie and jelly xxx

jelly nursery was the same for us one of the reasons i was going to give him another year he is currently at playgroup but he is just ready he has always been academically fine i mean he is not genius child just average for his age but it was his confidence i was worried about and coping with kids almost a year older but i am not worried anymore.

I am waiting on the school phoning me back to discuss hope Oliver does not get punished for my indecisiveness

pinkbuttons · 07/05/2013 09:21

i was also going to back gaviscon smitten ive had a huge bottle prescribed by drs now and keep it next to the bed and have a glug when heartburn predictably arrives as I lie down.
sorry to hear about your DH natalie that sounds really stressfuk and with money worries on top, am sending you hugs and hope the surgeons have good news and a plan for you both today.
just wanted to ask if anyone had had any braxton hicks yet? I had 2 yesterday and conpletely panicked as I was much much further on before getting them with DS. Dr Google seems to think its ok and they can start as early as 16 weeks but dont feel particularly reassured .

roxvox · 07/05/2013 09:53

Morning everyone! It sounds as though people had good weekends Smile

Sorry to hear about your DH natalieand. There must be some sort of benefits avilable for people in your situation?

I have been reading through all the posts over the weekend, but haven't posted as me and Dh had a little holiday at my parents. Was a lovely weekend and it would appear that I now have a definite bump! It sort of started properly showing on Friday, but now seems to have just grown out of nowhere! I have also been feeling baby almost every day. Twice yesterday. Each time it is just about 6-8 little kicks, spread out over about 30 seconds-1 minute, and then it stops again. I love it, and am sure it is baby?!

shootingstars I read that you're meant to have an additional 300 calories a day in your second trimester, and then more again in the third. My eating habits haven't really changed, but yesterday I certainly managed more food than I normally would be able to, and I still wasn't 'full' (but was comfortable enough to stop eating).

Wickedgirl · 07/05/2013 10:13

My weekend was spent working. I started at 07.45 Saturday morning and finished yesterday morning at 07.45. I work as a nanny to a 2 year old and 9 month old. Their parents were away for the weekend. It was lovely to get home yesterday and just chill. My family went out for a Chinese meal last night which was yummy. All I had to do was climb into bed after that and snuggle with DH.

pinkbuttons I too am getting Brixton hicks contractions.

MotherOfNations · 07/05/2013 10:55

So glad to see the sun jellycurls. Especially as the only clothes that fit now are last years billowing summer dresses. When I'm wearing clothes that fit I actually look pregnant and not just fat.
I think me and youngest dd will have a lunch time picnic in the garden.

roxvox · 07/05/2013 11:34

motherofnations I am very jealous of the idea of a garden picnic! Much preferred to my likely working 'lunch'.

20 week scan in a week from today. Can't flipping wait. It's my birthday on Friday so I have taken the day off and have my Mum and Dad visiting for the whole weekend, so I am hoping that will make time go quicker and I'll be having the scan before I know it!

I have still been asked to drink 2 pints of water an hour before the scan. Surprised me a bit. Anyone else been asked to do the same?

Who else is feeling kicks? How would you describe the feeling?

Smitten1981 · 07/05/2013 11:45

I shall buy a bottle of Gaviscon tonight! Rennies are rubbish.

Thanks ladies!

roofio87 · 07/05/2013 11:55

roxvox I was wondering about that actually.I just made my 20w scan app at the hospital, haven't received a letter or anything. I was just gonna go with a reasonably full bladder like last time just in case!?!

TheFalconsmistress · 07/05/2013 12:24

My 20 week scan is Thursday and it says not full but not to be completly empty either xx

JellyCurls · 07/05/2013 12:39

My 20wk scan is a week tomorrow and says to come with a comfortably full bladder. Absolutely bricking it for the scan, can't shake the feeling that something is wrong. Neurotic mummy springs to mind!

Finishing here soon to catch some sneaky rays on pretence of dentist appointment. It's ok though as don't get paid if I don't work so not really cheating anybody except myself.

roofio87 · 07/05/2013 12:48

seeing my gp in a bit, sort of pg related, sort of not. do I need to take my hand held notes with me?!

Warlin · 07/05/2013 12:54

Be wary of going to scan with a full bladder...I did this last time and after waiting for an over an hour to be seen I was in pain! Maybe have a drink before you go and sip on water when you are waiting around.

roofio I personally wouldn't take your notes but then I'm never very organised :)

Very jealous of picnics in the park. I have an all afternoon meeting coming up and can only look outside at the sun....and dream!

We have gender scan on Sun and I'm very excited. Hoping it will make it all seem a bit more real!

PseudoBadger · 07/05/2013 12:58

Smitten if you can get your gp to prescribe gaviscon for you, perhaps if you ring they could write one up for you without an appointment

Warlin · 07/05/2013 13:04

On the name front I think we have Edward (Eddie or Ed) for a boy and Jessica for a girl. Not 100% on Edward yet but dh is being very difficult and refusing to accept my first choices of Henry and Arthur :( It can be hard to getting something that goes nicely with ds1's name. DH hates Ed Milliband though so that is making him waiver a little. I just can't wait to find out the sex and decide on a name, either way. I am demanding a middle name from my side of the family this time as ds1's middle name is after my MIL
