We emptied the loft of all pink baby items ready for a bootsale in a fortnight a time kept all the white baby grows and vests etc aside. And put our new Moses basket in the loft for now as its too long to wait to have it floating around the bedroom until October. Then this afternoon dh and dd build dd's playhouse dug out the borders decorated with windmills done a tip run and swept up while I played a more supervisory role lol.
Loving the bump pics on the fb page. Just say down on the sofa now no idea what to have for dinner what's everyone we having ?

Sounds like everyone is having a lovely bank holiday monday! No bank holiday here but had a nice sunny weekend.

Really like the names Louis and Isaac. Can see how Amelia could be popular though. Not thinking about names here yet will wait until after scan. Haven't decided on finding out sex though........

Enjoy Istanbul clapham. Had DS at St Thomas' and had excellent midwife and obstetrician (was the senior reg not consultant but she was brilliant). Post natal ward not great but I was over the moon with new baby and went home a day early!

MotherOfNations · 06/05/2013 20:54

I'm so jealous of you all and your BBQs. Its cold, rainy and windy here in Glasgow. I really wanted to take the Dc's to the funfair but I'd end up miserably traipsing round the muddy park holding all the coats.
I hate going out right now as I have no clothes that fit me properly, hopefully the maternity clothes I ordered arrive tomorrow.

GTbaby · 06/05/2013 21:01

Weljel of all your lovely weekends! I'm "craving a trip to the library"
I want the Breast-feeding guide and weaning guid for my little gorgeous 6month old. Been giving him cuddles today as pain has been a little better.
Going to have to stay home Lone with him on Thursday for 2 hours. But it's at his non needy time of day. So hoping I can cope. Managed to walk to kitchen And get some food. As long as I can put it in my pocket I can carry it to the sofa. So anything in a bowl is not going to happen Confused

Right. Off to tackle the job of a shower. Got a garden chair in shower. Lucky it's all open and not enclosed glass door type. I won't admit how long it's been since I had a shower

fB requests. I think I'm up to date on all requests I've received. If not , a reminder is needed pls Wink I've had almost 30 messages, and I've not had a chance to reply to thank you messages. So a blanket "no worries" to all. And yes it is hard work lol.

OrangeBlossom2 · 06/05/2013 21:17

Thanks again for setting up and adding everyone. Is is good to see pictures (I am so nosey!)

Natalieand · 06/05/2013 21:18

I have to say gt I take my hat off to u looking after a baby being in that kind of pain. I had SPd when preg with dd and although I struggled to walk I certainly wasn't having to sit on a garden chair in the shower and carry food in my pockets lol (sorry that bit made me chuckle) xxx

MoN rubbish that your weather has been awful!
natalie sounds like a very busy day!

We went to the park this morning for a few rides on the fun fair and a picnic (well an asda meal deal each as we couldn't be arsed making one! Blush) then back this afternoon to get the paddling pool out. Invited my nan over as she's not been to our new house yet!

Was going to have an early night as done a fair bit this weekend but dh is cooking some concoction in the kitchen and I'm intrigued as to what it is!

PseudoBadger · 06/05/2013 21:29

We had a BBQ too tonight, very nice!
I've got a job interview on Thursday at 9am and then my consultant appointment at 3pm that afternoon. So I'm dreading and looking for ward to Thursday equally!

Shirehobbit · 06/05/2013 21:39

Good luck for both badger

Are there any other hayfever sufferers on the thread? Itchy eyes started today and I'm assuming I'll have to make a Drs appointment rather than just taking my old meds?

tuckingfits · 06/05/2013 21:43

Hi GT, could you invite me to/add me to the group please? You've added me as your "friend" but I can't see any notifications about the group. Ta much & you are a little star for taking on this task!

DS not been well since last Monday, just a nasty cold but he's been up & down for a week now. Feel really sorry for him. Dragged him out shopping today (in his pushchair) as he seemed much better & happier this morning but think it was a step too far really. I bought some maternity t shirts in new look but the floor with the mat wear on was absolutely stinking hot & I started to feel sick & faint so just took my haul downstairs to pay & get the hell out. No idea if any of it fits. Can see me having to make a returns trip into town... :)

MoN you have my sympathy on the weather front. I live between Largs & Greenock & have been moaning about our lack of spring, let alone summer. I can't believe how bloody miserable it is. Cold, windy, rainy, grey,Baltic, rubbish. :(

ananikifo · 06/05/2013 21:46

GT thank you so much for organising the fb group. I'm sorry you're in pain and hope you feel better.

Today we went into the Peak District with friends and met PIL there. Our planned destination was too busy so we ended up at Chatsworth House, which was busy but still fun. My PIL's dog peed on DH's rucksack twice! Then on the way home, our friends toddler was basically throwing a tantrum because he didn't want to sit in his car seat. We thought he was just not used to it (his parents don't have a car) but he started to complain of tummy pain, which we didn't do anything about. Then he threw up all over the car seat and himself. Shock.

As we got home, exhausted, threw all our clothes and bags in the washing machine, and we debated whether the day was worth it and whether anyone had any fun. I couldn't help but think this was a taste of what parenting will be like.

PseudoBadger · 06/05/2013 21:50

Oh dear ananikifo - my weekend has consisted of driving 100 miles to DP's friends' wedding, spending 36 hours looking after poorly DS with vomiting and diarrhoea in our hotel room, missing the wedding, driving back home and then spending all day today trying to work out whether DS was hungry or about to vomit. What fun!

ananikifo · 06/05/2013 22:00

Just to make it clear, I do realise that the actual parents have it much harder than us! We just had a taste of it, then we went back to our childless home, cleaned up a bit and chilled out.

Pseudo: I hope your ds feels better. Our friends' ds was quite happy and chirpy after he was cleaned up and told he could take the train home. (The car seat was really disgusting and we were very close to a train station, which was a cheap ride from home at that stage.)

Shirehobbit · 06/05/2013 22:13

We had friends + toddler to stay this weekend, too.
We also needed much recovery time after they'd left Wink

Natalieand · 06/05/2013 22:23

Lol ana it's deffo completely different when its your own. You become less concerned about the sick on your clothes and more concerned of
Your dc's well being. And tbh the tantrums well they r just second nature although I'm not Ashamed to deny dd's tantrums deffo get on top of me sometimes if in tired or she's been at it non stop since her teeny eyes opened at 5am lol

Do u ladies remember me saying dh had his appendix removed a few weeks ago? Well he's just been admitted back to hospital this evening as the wound hasn't fully healed and he's now waiting to see a surgeon as they think it has an abcess. As if we weren't already skint enough? I no I no it sounds selfish and I should be more worried about his health lol.

Sitting on the sofa absolutely starving! What to eat what to eat?

Natalieand · 06/05/2013 22:24

I just realised I put ashamed to deny but I mean ashamed to admit

OP posts:
ananikifo · 06/05/2013 22:31

Oh no Natalie! I hope he gets well soon.

Also I hope it doesn't spun like we kicked our friends out of the car. It was his mom's idea to take the train home so he wouldn't be sick again, and also because she didn't want to put him back in his seat and it would have been unsafe to drive home with him in her lap.

Have you ladies noticed that I keep saying mom instead of mum? I'm trying to make a point of it because I'm determined to be called mom by my child! I know he or she will have a Mancunian accent and that's not a problem but I just can't picture myself as a mummy. I need to be a mommy!

CocktailSausage · 06/05/2013 22:32

Shirehobbit I suffer from hayfever and have been prescribed fluticasone propionate nasal spray and sodium cromoglicate eye drops. When I was pregnant with ds I was prescribed loratadine which I wouldn't be allowed now.

I had a bit of a problem with my prescription - the pharmacist gave me a sodium solution instead of my eye drops and I haven't been able to make an appointment as I've moved and between everything plus working I haven't had the time. So I decided to buy them from the chemist.
The 1st chemist refused to sell them to me, even though i explained my circumstances. I just covered myself up and visited another chemist. Shock
I know I shouldn't have but I am suffering and pregnancy is uncomfortable enough already. I had to take time off work last pregnancy due to hayfever.

ananikifo · 06/05/2013 22:33

Sound not spun!

MotherOfNations · 06/05/2013 23:09

Despite the shitty weather here I'm still suffering with hayfever. I really need to make an appointment with the doctor. I have to walk past the health centre everyday when taking dd to nursery but I still never get round to going in and making an appointment. Even when I go to the dentist in the same building it never occurs to me to make a doctor's appointment.

Smitten1981 · 06/05/2013 23:12

Hope your DH is ok Natalie!

I've just finished Jools Oliver's book and really liked it. Picked up a few handy hints too. I read it in a day! I definitely recommend it if you want a good baby-related read.

I've got such bad heartburn, I've had it every day. I'm sitting in bed propped upright and have to keep taking walks round the house. It hurts SO much. I've had 2 Rennies but they don't seem to even take the edge off.

GTbaby · 06/05/2013 23:13

Aww nat that sucks! Hope DH gets better soon.

Going try get up stairs in a bit. Been sleeping on sofa all week. I WANT MY BED Shock

I'm in the mood for chocolateGrin anyone care to join me and a glass of Wine

SeriousStuff · 07/05/2013 00:41

Loved reading your Bank Holiday stories - it's been glorious here but we're in the middle of moving house so our weekend has been filled with packing, cleaning, going to the dump (what a Bank Holiday cliche!), and burning stuff (that was my favourite part).

I'm absolutely exhausted and my body just aches - I was really careful not to over exert myself, didn't carry any heavy items, and didn't stand down wind when we had a bonfire but I'm as stiff as a post!

OrangeBlossom2 · 07/05/2013 06:37

Natalie sorry to hear about your DH, hope he is ok soon. added financial worry is the last thing you need. i think I remember you saying he is self employed so no sick pay. Is it worth going to citizens advice to see if you can get short term benefits while he is not working? Not sure what's available but they might be ablre to help.

Shirehobbit · 07/05/2013 07:03

Hope your DH recovers soon, Natalie

Thanks for the hayfever tips - drs appointment it is, then.

Smitten I've found I can't eat a large meal in the evening anymore because of indigestion issues that seem to hit when I'm in bed. Very uncomfortable at 2am every morning - I guess my body can't cope with digesting lying down. Better if I have snacks only after 5pm.
I also got hit by heartburn yesterday afternoon. A really slow, painful shuffle walk with the dog helped, but I was nearly in tears.
