Corkle that's great, thanks! We're only half an hour from the border and there are a few carrefours not too far so will look! We were in galaries Lafayette so prob not the best place to look! All designer there. Mind you they had a joules in biarritz with a babygrow for 60 euros that sells for 20 quid in the uk, I could hardly believe it!

OrangeBlossom2 · 06/05/2013 10:02

Hello slowjogs. I am due on 20th also at kingston so may see you there!

Bronzemoth · 06/05/2013 10:02

Pseudo we must be pretty close to I'm booked in at the Whittington. It's a crazy maze so have visions of a spinal tap moment trying to find the right unit when it all kicks off, but they seem to have spent some money on the maternity area.

Slowjogs · 06/05/2013 10:05

orangeblossom that's exciting! They've been really good so far and have heard lots of good things about the hospital. Have you joined an NCT group yet?

OrangeBlossom2 · 06/05/2013 10:09

Yes I have signed up for nct classes in worcester park. I think it is the Epsom/sutton branch?

OrangeBlossom2 · 06/05/2013 10:20

Off for a walk in the sunshine today. I wonder just how unfit I have become recently... Remember the sun cream today ladies, you burn more easily when pregnant. I caught my chest a little bit teaching PE on Friday. I remembered hat and sun cream for face and arms only, silly me.

Natalieand · 06/05/2013 10:20

I'm glad u like Louie my family don't seem too keen but me and dh have found that's the only boys name we agree on. I really like Kyle he hates it and he likes Oscar but I'm not keen.

Seriously cannot remember the last time I ever felt this tired but were sorting the garden out today and emptying the loft of all dd baby stuff to see what's re useable for a little boy. And I have just seen the cutest little baby grow in next that says born in 2013 on it.

What's everyone else up to this bank holiday?

cazboldy · 06/05/2013 10:40

slowjogs - does that make you due on the 7th? If so i am your due date buddy Smile

Umlauf - we don't know for definite we are having a boy, but dh really wants to call him Albert (Bertie) if he is a bot - and is constantly referring to the bump as Bertie - I really don't know about it. I do like the name - particularly Bertie - but just can't imagine having a baby called that - I know, I'm weird! Grin

Ds3 has been up nearly all night with an earache and so have i with him, so will be trying to catch up on some sleep today if I can. I have a tma due for my uni course on thursday, and one due for my other course next week, which is the final one on that course. I have asked for an extension for the one this week (but haven't heard back from my tutor yet) and feel like such a failure, but just don't need extra stress atm Sad

cazboldy · 06/05/2013 10:41

if he is a BOY not bot Grin

Haylebop12 · 06/05/2013 11:04

natalie sometimes you just have to ignore family and go with what you like best. They will get used to it!

Dd keeps mentioning my favorite name, Harriet so hopefully dh is getting used to it! She keeps saying Harriet ruby which is ok.

Slowjogs · 06/05/2013 11:13

orangeblossom Our class is just down the road in Surbiton so not a million miles away.

cazboldly Close but not quite I'm afraid - our due date is Oct 15th.

natalieand Lovely name, I'd prefer Louis as the spelling I think!

Umlauf · 06/05/2013 11:16

That made me splutter tea everywhere caz imagine having a bot! Much easier to look after I guess! Well obviously I love the name and so am very biased but if you aren't sure I think you should nip it in the bud now! Because otherwise once he's called the bump it enough times it might be reallly hard to change it. Another nickname I've heard is Albie which is sweet, although I'm avoiding that as I hate 'al' and I like the alliteration of Bertie with our surname. I also LOVE Bernard and Bernie but its DHs grand ads name and also my sisters and my code name for spots when we were teenagers, as in, "oh no, how am I gonna get rid of this massive BERNARD before the party?!"

I am basing this on my guinea pig, who was adopted with a very boring human name which is the same name as my DH, and we took too long trying to choose an alternative that they are now Big N and Little N. I had a field day booking him in for his castration!

Don't feel a failure re the deadlines, they will almost certainly give you an extension and you can't expect too much from yourself! Relax, sleeeeep :-)

Blush

see so much on my plate, I can't even remember how pg I am! Grin

(or what day it is!)

Just checked and it is a monday...... and that means I am 18 wks today!

Blush

so glad it's a bank holiday - dh resets the alarm when he gets up at the moment, and I never had an alarm until this pg......

dd1 is under orders to wake me if I am not up by half 7!

Umlauf · 06/05/2013 11:17

Hayle I LOVE Harriet, and Hattie. Such a gorgeous name!!!

cazboldy · 06/05/2013 11:18

Albie is why I don't like it.....

there is a horrible woman at school who has a little boy around 2 yo who is Albert and she screeches "Albie" all the time!

cazboldy · 06/05/2013 11:18

oh and thanks for the kind words re the extension x

Umlauf · 06/05/2013 11:24

Ahh name association. The bane of baby naming, especially if you work with children! I got Albie from a gorgeous 3 year old visiting Father Christmas when I was working at Lapland UK as an elf aged 19!Loved it ever since, but Bertie took over recently, it seems more proper as a nn somehow. He will probably be Bert when he's older as well, which I love because it reminds me of Barry Poppins.

Umlauf · 06/05/2013 11:24

Mary Poppins... Not sure who Barry Poppins is!

cherrycherry41 · 06/05/2013 11:25

Who's our next scanee? Smile

roofio87 · 06/05/2013 11:26

I love Harriet too, and Bryony but I have 2 very good friends with those names so I would be weird!!
Natalie I like Louis, that's how I feel it should be spelt but.you run the risk of people pronouncing the 's'.
I think we're set on Hunter for a boy and Sadie for a girl. we have boy middle names but no girl ones. the baby's two grandmothers names go nicely together for middle names but I don't know if that's a bit cheesy!! saying that if its a boy.we want the middle name Ronald as its dp's dad and grandads name and was my grandads name and that's hardly very fashionable!!Smile

roofio87 · 06/05/2013 11:27

umlauf I loled at Barry Poppins, I'm picturing mary's working class distant brother who's terrible with children!!

Umlauf · 06/05/2013 11:31

I love Ronald roofio but very string chances of a ginger baby. Too much Weasley teasing. I think its lovely in a quirky way!

snowgal · 06/05/2013 11:32

I've been lurking for a while and I've decided I should probably join you chatty lot if that's ok? Expecting DC2, due date 22 Oct, already have a DS who is 17 months at the mo. We spent 5 days deliberating on a name for DS once he had arrived, really hope not to be in that situation again this time, but DP is still unwilling to discussion names as it's "too soon"!! Live in the Highlands, neither of us are Scottish.

pinkbuttons · 06/05/2013 11:56

caz definitely dont feel bad re: asking for an extension, sounds like youve got alot on already. im currently trying to study for my finals and struggling massively. although the lovely weather is helping today. Smile
natalie I really like louis too and know a louis and a louie. both boys.
also love bertie. DH and I really struggling with boys names so hoping well get confirmation baby is a girl at our scan next week... just to avoid the heated discussions Grin

Tarlia · 06/05/2013 12:05

Nat I'd def go with Louie, which I really like, but wouldn't use as have a Louis in the family pronounced Lewis. I didn't even think you could say Louis without pronouncing the S?

umf how many weeks are you now? I bet it was baby, congratulations.! When the MW asked me at 17+3 if I'd felt baby, I said I had for a while or it was wind. She laughed and said it was baby. Baby was clearly listening and decided that from the next day on it would show me it was them and has been doing it just a bit harder which I cannot miss. Not proper kicks but pokes and fishy rolls.

Welcome snowgal.

No bank holiday here today - sob. However, strangly Thursday is and Friday is a day most companies and all schools give staff a special extra long weekend.

Those looking at clothes and like bold colours, Scandinavian clothes are fab but can be pricey out of the sales. However, check out idaT.dk they often have good sales, ship all over and have an English button to click too. We also love Molo, Sma folk, Holly's just to name a few. Totally fallen out of love with katvig after a recent disaster.
