Congrats Umlauf! I wouldn't be disappointed at all if we were having a girl but I do think mums can have really nice relationships with their sons. They love to be quite active and physical when playing and can be surprisingly sensitive!

Man, I wish we were finding out the sex!

BowlFullofJelly · 03/05/2013 11:48

Congrats Umlauf. They all smell the same as babies - bloody delicious.

cherrycherry41 · 03/05/2013 11:53

Congrats umlauf!! :)

18 weeks today and not felt any movements so far and this is second baby! Wonder if its aftermath of previous c section as i dont have feeling in the bottom half of my tummy above my scar.

HotSoupDumpling · 03/05/2013 11:55

Congrats!!

Boys (I assume you're talking about stinky teenager+ ones...) don't smell if you teach them to wash twice a day when they get older! My DH is scrupulous about showering/bathing all the time and immediately after exercise, has been since we met ages ago. Means he never had that disgusting hormonal sweat smell that other boys had...

Umlauf · 03/05/2013 12:08

thats good soup!! I do feel so much better knowing he's a little boy rather than an 'it.' I was feeling guilty for not bonding before..

roxvox · 03/05/2013 12:17

Hello everyone, I am going to try and catch up, but sorry if I forget anyone!

Sorry to hear you've been not too well GT. I hope you feel better very soon.

Congrats pea, that's fantastic news! A new baby for a new year, that will be lovely Smile

Sorry to hear you had a rubbish day slippy. I hope you have a much better day today, find your keys, and lose the dizziness.

Congrats Umlauf! My brother's room used to smell of mud when we were growing up, but only when he went through his football stage (very short lived actually) and whilst he continued to be messy, his personal hygiene took a turn and he always smells lovely now!

Roofio the first time I weighed myself after my bfp, I was the lightest I had been, and I stayed that way for the first 17 weeks of pregnancy (no weight gain at all) then, last week I weighed myself and I had suddenly put on 3 or 5lb's (I can't remember now). It all seems quite erratic to me!

I have just eaten a yummy pain au chocolat, and then started feeling quite guilty. On the plus side, I then felt some little kicks (very very faint) in my tummy, so I think baby (if that is what it was) enjoyed the sugar! The guilt is now subsiding and has been replaced with the urge to eat another one and see if it happens again Blush

Claphammama · 03/05/2013 12:24

congrats Umlauf! You don't have to worry about how the Spanish will pronounce Edith anymore :-)
I'm losing count... do we have 3 boys and 2 girls now? how do we keep track of this??
I'm still feeling rubbish and still have no voice... day 4 now. And I mean NO voice. NONE . DS taking advantage of my new vulnerability.
Supposed to go on holidays on Sunday (work must be delighted with me - first sick then holidays...) Have two days to feel a bit better...

Claphammama · 03/05/2013 12:29

ps. I also had a massive pain au chocolat earlier roxvox! with a strong cup of flat white. NO guilt :-)

Wickedgirl · 03/05/2013 12:45

Maybe we can keep track of sexes of the stats thread? Anyone who knows the sex of their baby can write in next to their name?

Wickedgirl · 03/05/2013 12:46

Wow.....just noticed that we are over half way though this thread already! Fast moving eh?

JellyCurls · 03/05/2013 12:50

Super news on the boy umlauf my wee boy smelled gorgeous when he was born if you ignored his cheesy feet

Off pram viewing today, am so excited Grin

Claphammama · 03/05/2013 12:51

Good idea - lets update stats thread!

favellio · 03/05/2013 12:57

Great news umlauf GrinGrin

Shootingstarsandcomets · 03/05/2013 13:17

Congrats on a boy umlauf and don't worry my baby boy smells delicious!
Feeling a bit down today and don't know why. Can't seem to shake off whatever it is. Really feel like I could do with a night out and a glass or two of wine but that isn't going to happen! Sorry to bring down a happy thread just thought it might help if I 'said' it aloud!

Slippysnow · 03/05/2013 13:32

Congratulations umlauf I think boy babies are nummy (but I also think girl babies are nummy so I'm not a great advisor)

shooting I hope your feeling a bit happier soon, try and eat or drink a nice treat and I hope writing it down helps you with it. It's probably hormonal but I don't think that helps to hear. Take it easy.

As for my shit day. No sign of the keys meaning I will have to get them replaced. Called two toyota dealers after reading they're best to contact. One quoted me £400-1000!! The other quoted me £2000 and said my car would be off the road for up to 10 days! I then phoned an independent car locksmith who quoted me £165 and he comes to me! Madness in difference all I have to do is get a key code by giving Id and log book to toyota (they never explained this to me).

As for dizziness I have slightly low blood pressure so given iron tablets and told to get bloods done on tues. anyone still suffering with dizzy spells I'd urge you to go to the doctors it didn't take long and could prevent you from feeling like I did today it was awful felt like I went blind and my ears wouldn't stop ringing. Iron tablets however= constipation :(

Claphammama · 03/05/2013 13:45

oh no... don't feel down shooting... what about chocolate? Does it help? or a nice movie tonight? must be hormones... here is a glass of wine for you Wine

TheFalconsmistress · 03/05/2013 13:51

Just a quick update for those planning to bf tk maxx have Bebe au lait nursing covers for 7 pound not sure if that's everywhere but I got one for my friend Smile

roxvox · 03/05/2013 14:15

claphammama mmm, it was gooood!

shootingstars I got home last night after a good day at work and burst into tears as soon as I saw DH. No idea why, but I suddenly felt really really sad and upset. I have had my days of crying for no reason during this pregnancy, but it was the first time I had been sad about nothing! A cuddle and something nice for tea seemed to sort me out... I hope you're feeling a bit better soon.

Smitten1981 · 03/05/2013 14:25

I've had a few episodes of hysterical laughing, no crying yet. DH thought I was mental yesterday because I got a yoghurt out of the fridge and said 'Oykos' then laughed hysterically until I was crying. He was like "errr, ok?"

We're painting the nursery this weekend - hurrah!

Claphammama · 03/05/2013 14:45

what colour smitten?

Natalieand · 03/05/2013 15:12

Beat me to it clapham was just about to ask that lol

Anyone got any idea of what to do with dd's bedroom? As we're having a boy it needs to suit both of them and its all very pink in her room ATM lol

OP posts:
Smitten1981 · 03/05/2013 15:30

Clapham We've just gone for the Dulux Light and Space paint in Absolute White, we're going to put a big wall sticker up on one wall and do the rest of the colour with soft furnishings. It'll be pretty gender neutral.

Someone mentioned the Gro Jolly Day out furnishings which I love, but I can't find anywhere that sells the curtains :(

roxvox · 03/05/2013 15:30

Natalieand my boss and his wife are expecting a little girl next month, and already have 3 boys. The youngest boy (who is 4 I think) will need to share with his new sister, so they have painted 2 walls of the room light blue, and 2 of them pink. I haven't seen it, but apparently it looks lovely!

I am guessing your DD will be set on keeping pink, else I would recommend a unisex colour or white!

roxvox · 03/05/2013 15:32

smitten we are looking to do something similar, although possibly one wall in a nice yellow - yes it is stereotypical when you aren't finding out the sex, but that room is currently a guest bedroom with a yellow and white theme, so it will be in keeping with that too! Forgive me for my poor memory, but are you finding out the sex?

Smitten1981 · 03/05/2013 15:39

Yes we are, next Saturday rox I can't wait!
