Oh my god MoN - that's bloody amazing news! Really happy for you Flowers

cherrycherry41 · 01/05/2013 16:14

MoN so happy for you!!
Fingers crossed for the rest of the results! Thanks

Smitten1981 · 01/05/2013 16:15

Yaaaayyyy MoN, that must be SUCH a weight off your mind from such a grim outcome at the start. What a relief!

roxvox · 01/05/2013 16:19

That's fantastic news MoN! Do they tell you what the preliminary results cover or is it not as specific as that?

MotherOfNations · 01/05/2013 16:19

I really want some wine now to go with those flowers Bowlful and Cherry.

MotherOfNations · 01/05/2013 16:21

Preliminary results have ruled out Downs,Edwards,Pateaus and looked at the sex chromosomes so have ruled out Turners.
I need to do some more research because I'm not sure if the mosaic forms of these are ruled out.

BowlFullofJelly · 01/05/2013 16:21

Wine - enjoy Smile

cherrycherry41 · 01/05/2013 16:22

Wine just a small glass though haha Grin
Not had a glass of wine in agesssss, or coffee for that matter- baby just doesnt like!!
Must be a boy and like his dad!

MotherOfNations · 01/05/2013 16:26

I'll be on this soon enough boring you with all the details of stuff I've bought for the baby, and discussing names. I can't wait.

Claphammama · 01/05/2013 16:32

wow - what amazing news MoN!!! You so deserve a glass of Wine tonight! Must be such a relief!

Does it mean it will be your 4th girl...? Or do you already have a boy too?

Feel feel to bore us with all the baby stuff and baby names now. We will reciprocate for sure Grin

FeministInTraining · 01/05/2013 16:33

Soooo happy and relieved for you MON that must be a massive weight off of your mind. I will keep my fingers crossed for you, as it must still be a bit daunting until you see it all finalised in black and white- but I have a big smile on my face, surprising how involved we feel with each others pregnancies on here!

Natalie I'm echoing others in saying don't feel guilty, this is the place you're allowed to say what you can't in RL! Me, DP, my mum and gran have all dreamt I'm having a girl and all I can picture is a girl! We're not going to find out, so thinking whatever we have I'm going to be so overwhelmed and exhausted I probably won't care by then!!

I agree with Jelly no MC spoilers please, this is the first ever series I've got into, albeit only in the last few weeks (please can someone explain how many times a week and for how long the episodes come on for as I have it on series link but am a bit confused about the format- 30 mins then 1hr feeling a but dim )

Falcon and Clapham hope you both feel better soon Flowers

MotherOfNations · 01/05/2013 16:34

3rd girl Clapham My eldest is a boy. He's none too chuffed but beggars can't be choosers.

Claphammama · 01/05/2013 16:39

Thanks falcon! x
Just got back from GP - signed off for this week. Official note in hand and already sent to my manager. It changes nothing in how I feel but somehow helps manage the "not going to work" guilt.
Was also told NOT to talk... sorry... HOW?

takingachance · 01/05/2013 16:56

That's fantastic news MoN, so pleased for you Smile

Well I finally got my work Risk Assessment done and I am about to be 'signed off' from my normal duties as they are too risky and I will be offered 'alternative work'! Not exactly sure what they can offer - has anyone else been given alternative work due to pregnancy? x

Claphammama · 01/05/2013 17:00

what kind of work do you do takingachance? are you perhaps a spy or a stunt woman? :)
Office job here so no chance of an alternative work... my main risk is boredom or tripping over my handbag

FeministInTraining · 01/05/2013 17:03

Grin @ Clapham I wondered the same thing... a student told me the other day he wanted to be a professional bungee jumper (he's 17 and doing A levels) maybe takingachance does that?!

takingachance · 01/05/2013 17:04

he he, Claphammama , I could quite fancy being a stunt woman! But no, I'm a helicopter pilot..... not sure the vibration and noise is doing much for the baby!!

FeministInTraining · 01/05/2013 17:07

Ooh that sounds really exciting (better than our suggestions IMO Wink
What could they ask you to do instead- could you be a controller or does that require additional training? V naive here at a desk with a red pen...

Umlauf · 01/05/2013 17:08

ahhh MON just seen your fabulous news!! SO happy and relieved for you! So today we have had a boy and a girl revelation.

If no-one else has a scan before Friday looks like by the laws of probability mine will be a boy!

Soupqueen · 01/05/2013 17:13

I'll catch up when I get home but a quick update from the bus - amnio results all clear! Feel like I can breathe again

MotherOfNations · 01/05/2013 17:19

Woohoo Soupqueen The luck on this thread is changing for the better. About bloody time. We just need some good news for Falcon now.

cherrycherry41 · 01/05/2013 17:22

Oh Soup what a great day for healthy babies!
So happy for you both!! Wine all round! Grin

BowlFullofJelly · 01/05/2013 17:22

Yay Soup, Flowers and Wine for you too x

So pleased for you ladies Smile.

Let's hope the tide is turning and it is all good news from here!

Claphammama · 01/05/2013 17:24

Amazing news soup! today is another big and good news day! A glass of Wine for you too!

takingachance you exceeded my expectations! This sounds great but yes very shaky and noisy. I know you are not supposed to be "shaky" when pregnant.
Also - no idea what else you could possibly do... will be interesting to find out!

takingachance · 01/05/2013 17:35

Fantastic Soup - such a relief for you Flowers

Yes, it will be interesting to find out what I'm offered. Feminist I'm not trained to be a controller, I suspect there will be some office work heading my way, so a bit different from my usual view. But the important thing is keeping baby safe.
