Such good news today everyone Grin

Shootingstarsandcomets · 01/05/2013 17:49

Woo hoo! Congrats on great results.
Sorry you're feeling down about a boy Natalie. I agree its probably because you love your first so much you can't imagine having one of the different sex. I'm hoping for another boy as can't imagine a girl! I'm sure you'll come round to it though and love him just as much as your dd. personally I think boys are the bestest Grin

Haylebop12 · 01/05/2013 17:53

Congrats natalie I too think being told its a boy will be longer to get used to then being told its another girl.

MoN wow, I was telling dh about your journey and how at your nuchal scan you received the news that was completely awful. Have just updated him and he's as pleased for you as I am. Smile definitely treat yourself tonight. You deserve it.

Getting up off the sofa last night after work wa a struggle. Only worked 2 days and I ached, especially my legs. Really hoping this isn't the start of spd. I worked twice as many hours when pg with dd in an almost physical job (head waitress) so not sure why I seem to be suffering this time?!

Haylebop12 · 01/05/2013 17:57

soup so pleased for you too, and such a relief I bet!

I've still not had results from quad test, afaik I'm expecting a letter so giving then till the end of the week.

Slippysnow · 01/05/2013 17:58

Yayayayayayayay!!! What great news! I'm so pleased :)

Pannacotta2013 · 01/05/2013 18:13

Natalieand - I love the big sister / little brother dynamic - big sisters are so caring towards the baby boy, and they tend to adore her in return. I'm not so sure you get the same effect the other way round...

And as for having two girls, I am very close to my sister, more so than to my mum - so with two girls the mum can get squeezed out! On a purely selfish level, you'll always be the most important female in your daughters life now x x

pinkbuttons · 01/05/2013 18:15

Fantastic news on here today, Congratulations to you both MoN and soup
I hope your both able to celebrate tonight, what a stressful time. so happy for you both xx

Xiaoxiong · 01/05/2013 18:21

Oh MoN and soup what wonderful news and such a relief!! Flowers to both of you this lovely evening.

hayle fingers crossed it's not SPD!! My sciatica has started in earnest already. First time around it didn't really kick in until past 20 weeks and then turned into full blown SPD around 30 weeks. I need to find that support belt around here somewhere...DH used to call it my "girth" to wind me up.

Pannacotta2013 · 01/05/2013 18:22

Just read - that is brilliant MoN and Soup! I'm so pleased for you! What a relief! MoN do they have any explanation for the high nuchal figure? Are they going to do more tests, or do they think it was just an unusual reading that won't cause any other issues? Hope I'm not being too nosy.

Soupqueen · 01/05/2013 18:22

MoN what wonderful news! You must be over the moon.

natalie, don't feel bad about being disappointed. By the time the baby is here, you'll adore your wee boy.

Thanks all. I am hugely relieved. I feel like I can get on with being pregnant now, I've been kind of distancing myself from it a bit as a self protection measure. I can join in properly with all the baby chat now!

Agree on no MC spoilers. I'll miss the final on Thursday, so will need to catch up over the weekend.

Claphammama · 01/05/2013 18:30

by the way, have you seen there is actually a Masterchef thread on mumsnet... people discussing only masterchef for pages and pages! I don't think I could chat at this length about it but had a peek and it was interesting to see how everyone went off Larkin! people think he is just arrogant and out of his depth. Natalie remains my favourite.

OK. Off to cook my leeks and parmesan risotto. This will upset my carnivore DP and probably also DS. he he.

MotherOfNations · 01/05/2013 18:30

There could still be something wrong Pannacotta as he amnio doesn't rule out all conditions but I think these things just happen sometimes.

MotherOfNations · 01/05/2013 18:32

I can't be bothered going to the shop for wine so I think I'll just treat myself to a single nougat from the ice cream van when it comes. (That's ice cream in a mallow wafer for the English).

PseudoBadger · 01/05/2013 18:34

Fantastic MoN and Soupqueen!

Wickedgirl · 01/05/2013 18:38

It makes a lovely change that it is just good news on here. I am so happy for both of you

It is such a relief when you get the all clear.

JellyCurls · 01/05/2013 18:55

MotherOfNations · 01/05/2013 19:03

Racheld33 · 01/05/2013 19:09

That is the best news MoN and soup Wine Brew Flowers

Lots of relaxing for you both this bank holiday x x x

juniper9 · 01/05/2013 19:12

Fantastic news soup and MoN... have been worrying on your behalf! Wine

JellyCurls · 01/05/2013 19:18

MoN i am liking your comment facebook style!

Raspberry sauce on a double nugget that sounds very messy indeed but raspberry sauce on a tub now your talking. MoN send the van West once he visited you am a bit hungry now

takingachance · 01/05/2013 19:31

Yum - want the ice cream van here too!

OrangeBlossom2 · 01/05/2013 19:35

Woohoo such great news MoN and soup! Hooray! Biscuit (closest pic to ice cream). When will they give you the final results so you can breathe at long last MoN?

Falcon sorry you are not feeling so well, I hope it fast tracks them sorting you out.

Natalie, I want one of each eventually so it shouldn't matter, but I have got into my head that I am having a girl and would prefer a girl first so I think I might feel the same as you for a while but would not be able to say so to anyone. I am sure the idea will grow on you and you will fall in love when you meet your little man.

Had a rubbish day at work, issue with a parent and forgot my lunch so was very grumpy until I could get to the corner shop. Got another stressful day tomorrow, school improvement partner coming to nose through books, data and watch lessons. Keep telling myself to be calm and not stress but doesn't always work! Lots of work tonight as preparing the data means that the actual important stuff like marking books and getting things ready for lessons isn't done. A long night ahead! My office type chair arrived today but it was broken and had to go back so I made a little cushion mountain for myself to make do until the new one comes. I have an achy lower back, sometimes in coccyx and/or bum cheeks whoever mentioned that. Not bad enough to go to gp but may mention at 16 week appointment.

MotherOfNations · 01/05/2013 19:52

2 weeks to wait Orange and the midwife said she would arrange a detailed scan to check the heart too so that heart defects can be ruled out. I don't think we'll properly relax until our baby girl is here safe and well.
The ice cream van's still not turned up. It never comes when I'm wanting it.

Flyer747 · 01/05/2013 20:12

Fab news MoN and Soup, really chuffed for you both xxx

The house we lost last week to a higher bidder (sealed bids) has pulled out and we were the 2nd highest bidders, I got my dream house! So chuffed and no chains involved and our friend is our solicitor and says he will have us in by the end of may....can't wait

A good day for news :-)

Haylebop12 · 01/05/2013 20:21

Wow so much good news on this thread!
