Welcome to thread number 7 (of many) of the October bus xxx

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Claphammama · 30/04/2013 21:21

not born in Italy but lived there for years! Florence specifically. Feels very much like home!

roxvox... I'm so excited in a perverted way!! Brushing my teeth is a traumatic moment every day. I gag and the only times I actually threw up was during brushing! I've told so many people about it - dentist, midwives, friends who've been pregnant. Everyone thought I was a weirdo! And DP thinks the sounds I emit when brushing are hilarious. So glad (again, in a perverted way) that I'm not the only one!Grin Grin

roxvox · 30/04/2013 21:27

I'm glad you said it Claphammama because I am pleased, also in a perverted way, that I am not the only one! I think DH gets a bit Hmm when I am urging whilst brushing my teeth or trying to swallow vegetables... I think I must look like a petulant child who is trying every excuse not to eat veggies/get out of brushing my teeth!

I bet that living in Italy was amazing! I have only ever driven just over the border into Italy, but DH used to holiday there with his family and always speaks fondly of it.

So, Masterchef, who do we want to win?

Claphammama · 30/04/2013 21:34

I like all of them but perhaps Natalie... she is so young and shy and seems so sweet. I love Larkin's Asian dishes though...

roxvox if you are desperate try to use strawberry or other fruit children's toothpaste instead. I had the same with DS1 and it helped a lot. it was actually worse with him so strawberry toothpaste was better than no brushing. Need to buy some now too...

roofio87 · 30/04/2013 21:36

watching this is badly making me want an Italian feast but I'm having to settle in a hand full of cherry tomatoes and a bag of quavers, not quite masterchef standard!!Blush

roxvox · 30/04/2013 21:40

claphammama I haven't had strawberry toothpaste for years! Mum refused to buy it for us but I used to use it at my friends house... Might have to buy some just for eating Blush - thank you for the tip!

Roofio I am sure the Italians would applaud your ingenuity Smile

I am a Natalie fan too, and I also like Dale. Not so keen on Larkin anymore but I am not really sure why!

Natalieand · 30/04/2013 21:41

Congrats on the bugaboo purchase! Are u gunna keep it at a relatives/friends house until the big arrival?

I'm not into master chef so ill just step aside on that front lol

Dh and I had Indian for dinner as it was payday naughty. Even tho I only have rice and the sauce from a curry lol

Now I need u to be honest, brutal if neccssary as my
Head could be well and truly in the clouds but dd is called honey what do u think of the name blossom for a second little girl? P.s I won't be offended if u all hate it lol

OrangeBlossom2 · 30/04/2013 21:49

YES to the yellow wee! Not just me! The pregnancy pre conception vitamins especially, but pregnancy ones as well sometimes my wee is a really unnatural yellow.

Wickedgirl · 30/04/2013 22:04

I went off Larkin last week. I think he really messed up but they asked Saira to leave and not him which I think was wrong.

I really hope Natalie wins.....she has really charisma and comes across so enthusiastically. She's great.

roxvox · 30/04/2013 22:31

natalieand I really like the name blossom, I think that's lovely and that it goes well with Honey too.

wickedgirl I am the same, Natalie makes me laugh with the things at come out of her mouth, and she can cook really well too. I always feel as though Larkin tries too hard and doesn't get it right often enough.

Haylebop12 · 30/04/2013 22:33

I honk I'm going to have to give up work... Only been there 8 hours and you have chatted for 3 pages! All caught up now (I think)

Pleased today wasn't too bad MoN and hope you get the results we all so wish for you.

Sorry to hear your concerns falcon I too am having monthly blood tests to keep checks on thyroid. I was unaware it can cause mc and I now wonder if that's what happened when I had my mmc last year?

IRT cots, we still have dd's cot (not a cotbed) so it's not huge. We are fortunate our bedroom is a decent siZe. Dd was in Moses basket or 9 weeks but she too was 56cm born and at 4.2 is 114cm. She's very tall and was a fairly big baby. Her dad is 6'3" so it's not a shock she gets mistaken for a 5 1/2 yo!

I second the idea of using drawers with a changing mat. We got a chest of drawers and put a mat on top. The top drawer was full of Nappies/wipes/cream then other drawers housed vests/babygros and socks etc.

Dh and I both worked till 9 tonight so we had Chinese... Naughty! Few days off now so with mil coming to stay the weekend I got lots to do!

HotSoupDumpling · 30/04/2013 22:34

I'm on pregnacare and my pee is luminescent...

Natalieand · 30/04/2013 22:37

Had some amazing news today a friend of mine had a miscarriage at almost 12 weeks in December and I found out today she's due October 21st one week after me! I'm so pleased for her :-)

cherrycherry41 · 30/04/2013 23:06

Natalieand ill be honest, and you have every right to hate me for what im about to say... iirc your DD is called Honey? (i love this name btw) Honey and Blossom? Honey Blossom..? Im sure thats a candle scent Blush I also think theres such a thing as Blossom honey too. I just think its too much...
But thats my opinion! Thought id be honest as thats what id want with my name suggestions, well on the internet anyway!
Im not horrible i promise! Hmm

PseudoBadger · 01/05/2013 06:21

Morning all!

Well I had heartburn last night, which is horrid - but I was pleased actually as hopefully it means all is still ok, as I've been a bit worried.

Natalieand · 01/05/2013 07:15

Definately don't hate u cherry I wanted honesty as sometimes ppl dont be honest to your face cos they r too polite lol. I love both names individually but wasn't sure on them together that's why I asked so your opinion is much appreciated thank you :-) x

Gender scan in exactly 5 hours whoop!

Hopefully you get to hear your initial results today MoN

OP posts:
Shirehobbit · 01/05/2013 07:36

Good luck today, Natalie - exciting!

Pains woke me up at 2am but seem better now, maybe the wee hobbit is doing some gymnastics in there?!

Big function at school this afternoon for all the parents, and my Head still doesn't want the news public until my cover is appointed, so cue some outfit anxiety this morning! Looks ok at the moment, but by 4pm, who knows Blush

Flyer747 · 01/05/2013 08:19

Can't wait to hear what you are having Natalie xx

Umlauf · 01/05/2013 08:42

natalie yes my Dad´s going to collect it and will keep it at his until I visit in July for my mammoth baby shopping trip.
VERY excited to see what you are having, are we going to update the stats list with sexes/surprises?
How about Bluebell for a name, like Geri Halliwells daughter? Similar to Blossom but there isn´t a honey bluebell afaik! Just popped into my head reading your post!

clapham I lived in Siena for a year when I was 19!! I really miss the food! Spain can be hit and miss buut Italy was incredible!!

Shootingstarsandcomets · 01/05/2013 08:47

So jealous of you living in Italy clapham, I love Italy, if I lived there I don't think I would ever return! Totally carb crazy here too was the same last time. Have made a huge bowl of prawn pasta salad for lunch. Am in maternity jeans today soooooooo comfy why haven't I worn these before now?!
Gorgeous day out there. I have my citizens advice appt today to talk about work and mat pay etc.Really hope I'm going to qualify for some sort of pay. Good luck for all the scans/results today.

pinkbuttons · 01/05/2013 09:11

good luck with appt today shootingstars hope its good news for you.
very excited to hear your news natalie enjoy your scan and I.hope baby behaves itself Grin
Also in maternity clothes here, was fed up yesterday of constantly having to pull tops down to keep my bump covered, now so comfy!

Claphammama · 01/05/2013 09:51

Morning all! still no better so gave in and booked myself an appointment with GP today. All I can feel apart from feeling sick is guilt about not being at work as we are so busy right now and I'm on holidays next week. Crazy. DP gets annoyed with me.

shootingstars nothing to be jealous about. Italy is amazing for holidays but it's not a great place for day to day living. No jobs, impossible to buy a place, everything too expensive in relation to salaries, corruption, favouritism... so many things that are wrong. That's why Italy has negative population growth and most educated young Italians are emigrating. It's a very sad and aging country falling apart. The grass is always greener!

Natalie I agree with cherry's comments on the name.

TheFalconsmistress · 01/05/2013 09:52

Was in hospital for 5 hours in agony last night. It was locaised to my left groin area shooting pains baby is fine got my bloods back fr yesterday still terrible so I will be getting put on meds I think

I hope I never have another yesterday in this pregnancy Sad

natalie good luck at gender scan xxx

roxvox · 01/05/2013 09:58

Oh no Falcon, that's not good! I am glad that they are sorting you out though and that baby is ok. I hope you're feeling better today.

Sorry to hear you're still not feeling well claphammama. Glad you're going to see the GP. I get what you mean about feeling guilty about not being at work. If you're not well then you're not well, and you have to do what is best for you and your baby.

Good luck today Natalieand. Fingers crossed you'll get a clear picture of a hamburger or a hotdog! I still like the name Blossom personally, but I can see what cherry is saying!

Claphammama · 01/05/2013 10:00

Oh no... It sounds like a nightmare night falcon. So sorry to hear this...
At least you know the baby is fine - most important. Will the meds fix everything? What worries you most?

Claphammama · 01/05/2013 10:01

ps. thanks roxvox!
