Oh oh oh I want in on the iron man club please!! Am slightly in actual love with RDJ, loved him in Sherlock Holmes too!

kipsonline · 17/05/2013 22:56

Oooh me too, from brat pack days!! Love a bad boy turned good ;)

Creamtea1 · 17/05/2013 23:15

goes off to buy Sherlock Holmes box set.. Smile

frogchops · 18/05/2013 07:05

Baby is giving it some in my belly this morning. :-/ DP not even interested at this hour on a Saturday!!

Dorita75 · 18/05/2013 07:33

RDJ posters adorned my teenage bedroom walls, Air America and Only You. The man is like a fine wine improving with age! Not got into iron man yet, will obvs have to try for the sake of extreme handsomeness!

Baby kicking here today this morning, still bit faint as low laying placenta. Only started feeling it a few days ago and I'm 23wks unfamiliar.

I'm on a hen party this wkend, love not having a hangover, makes us for everyone getting drunk last night!

Dorita75 · 18/05/2013 07:35

Unfamiliar! I meant today. And up not us....

HettySunshine · 18/05/2013 08:14

I'm going to an NCT nearly new sale this morning. Has anyone been to one? Are they any good? It's in quite a chi chi area so I imagine there might be some nice things there.

Oh and yes, yes, yes to Ironman. I love Marvel films Smile

SGJ · 18/05/2013 09:17

Re:RDJ - clearly we all have excellent taste! I knew I liked you lot for a reason!
NCT sales can be amazing, especially if you an get in early - I wouldn't bother browsing the clothes, just go for bigger stuff as you'll get better value. And buy stuff you'll need in the future rather than for a newborn, like inflatable swim ring, baby walker, ride on toys etc

badguider · 18/05/2013 10:16

My DH loves ironman and I even get brownie points for going along with him :)

Wasn't fond of rdj till ally mcbeal - definitely better with age.

flipflump · 18/05/2013 10:27

Ooo I'm waiting for our next local NCT, have fun and share your bargains later.

I have to share my excitement, walked up the high street for a pint of milk, returned with a brand new baby bjorn for £4 and a travel cot for £14 from our local charity. Spotted them in the window and HAD to have them. Won't need a travel cot for a long time but couldn't resist a bargain, it has been used but spotless and I'll get a travel mattress to go on top. Grin

SGJ · 18/05/2013 13:38

Nice bargains Flip! For our travel cot we just got a thick bit of foam cut to size at the market - haberdashery shop would do it too. Has worked perfectly and is easier to transport than a proper matress.

frogchops · 18/05/2013 14:33

I'm all baby showed out. 4 hours in there....Hmm Went a little bit light headed for a while, but now I'm out I'm feeling better. Some lovely things but unconvinced on some of the pricing.

flipflump · 18/05/2013 15:02

That's a great idea, thanks.

RakeABedOfTyneFilth · 18/05/2013 16:05

I stayed in bed this morning till 8, sat on the sofa with DS until 9 while DH bustled around bringing me tea/breakfast, had a bath while.DH mealplanned and shoppinglisted, then we went for haircuts and his finished first so I caught up with them in the supermarket (and the totality of my helping was grabbing two types of butter and a pack of eggs), then he made us steak sandwiches for lunch, I attempted to take DS out to the fire station open day, came back feeling utterly exhausted, and have now been in bed for two hours, half of which I slept. DH is out on the swimming class run, but brought me more tea and snacks before going.

He's going to the pub tonight with my enthusiastic blessing.

flipflump · 18/05/2013 16:46

Oh Rake, hope you're feeling better soon. Bless your DH for being so hands on and helpful. Good on you for listening to your body and taking it easy.

ION, how's the name choosing going? DH has been telling everyone we've chosen 1 boys and 1 girls name, I haven't admitted I'm having a bit of a wobble!!

Fozziebearmum2b · 18/05/2013 17:21

Flip-my name choosing is okayish... We have a girls name and have had for about a year, but the boy name we had decided on we've both backtracked. Realised that the last letter of the first name and surname would be the same letter so it's not all that easy to say... Anyways it's back to the drawing board.

Doesn't help matters that we're both convinced its a boy so need to get thinking!

Readytosettle · 18/05/2013 17:43

Just spent 6 hours at Lakeside visiting every big baby shop known to man & Ikea to really finish us off! Absolutely wiped out, back & bump are in agony....but I think we got it sorted. Just got to decide which colour cot bed to order, we've gone for the lime green & white baby wardrobe stuff from ikea, but prefer a wooden cot...is that going to look weird next to each other?

frogchops · 18/05/2013 18:57

No ready that sounds nice. I know the cot u mean, we've considered that one. Is it a cotbed? We are having ikea white furniture so it lasts a bit longer than mini furniture.

Readytosettle · 18/05/2013 19:06

The cot bed is actually from kiddicare not ikea (babyweavers hambleton).. The wardrobe is the struva range as I like the fact u can change the layout of it as & when u need. Still mulling it over, seems to make sense to buy the bits we like best rather than worrying about co-ordinating....but can't work out if it's going to annoy me or not that they don't match....

HettySunshine · 18/05/2013 20:43

I've also had an exhausting but successful baby day. The NCT sale was good but a bit overwhelming. We got some bits including some reusable nappies with liners and waterproof covers, a lovely mobile, a cat net for the Moses basket and a rain cover for the car sheet. After that went to dp's cousin's house and she gave us a huge bag of unisex 3-6 months clothes with promise of more if we have a boy.

Been on the sofa since 6 under a blanket! Grin

juniper9 · 18/05/2013 20:46

I really want to start buying but DP and I are trying to buy a house first, so it makes sense to wait. Bloody 'sense'.

Is kiddicare only a stand alone shop? I looked on their website, but their nearest store is an hour's drive away. Do they have sections within other stores? I'm trying to find somewhere near south London where I can push a load of prams around and see if being a short arse petite makes it a problem.

frogchops · 18/05/2013 20:51

Kiddicare is nationwide I think, I'm lucky to live 10 mins from one though. Even the britax/avent/tommeetippee reps today at the show said to shop at kiddicare as they undercut everyone else's prices.
I also live by kiddisave. This one is stand alone but their website is good.

Readytosettle · 18/05/2013 21:34

I think kiddicare is an online retailer primarily but they've just started opening stores. We live about 50 miles from Lakeside (west London) it was def worth the trip to hit all the stores together. Kiddicare was by far the best shop & the buggy dept was huge....definitely worth a trip out there if you can. They have electronic price tags which is a sign that they're constantly price matching with the lowest online, but the shop is lovely & the products were really good quality. There's a new one opening in Enfield next week if that's any better for u Juniper

I have a new found love of Tiny Love things BTW, bought the classic mobile on eBay this week & am chuffed to bits with it. Then went & bought the playmat at Kiddicare today...shopping has defo picked up pace, but am glad I'm not leaving it til later as today was enough of a strain even with my relatively small bump!

Readytosettle · 18/05/2013 21:36

I meant we live in west London, lakeside is of course in Essex...not some new lakeside in west London!

kimjayne · 18/05/2013 21:42

so totally off the subject of babies and pregnancy all together but whos watching eurovision? Grin
