New thread! May it bring lots of good news, funny stories and happy bump mummies!

We've gone for the Britax B-Dual as although this is our first we're planning on two so it seemed like good economy to buy a double now. It doesn't look like it's missing stuff as a single though IYSWIM. Got it in red from Kiddicare as it was the cheapest.

Yay frog for booking your holiday!

Rake, also pinched twatbadger. Brilliant. Shall replace my usual knobcheese/knobjockey/arsewipe. I know, I'm extremely eloquent.

CheeseStrawCraving · 12/05/2013 20:31

www.baby2see.com/timeline.html

Also, this is fab for seeing how many weeks vs months pg you are. Exciting!

Readytosettle · 12/05/2013 20:57

I like that Cheese

Just got a great deal on my changing bag ....on amazon for £15 cheaper than John Lewis & DH likes it too :-) www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00B18ZFJG

Readytosettle · 12/05/2013 20:58

That didn't work...it's the babymel satchel in boathouse teal

CharlW1 · 12/05/2013 21:44

Ready that is such a lovely changing bag - very tempted myself!

I ordered a doppler today - have been umming and arring for ages as I thought Imight get quite obsessive but now I can feel baby move I don't think I will feel the need to use it all the time but it will be so lovely to hear her whenever I want too.

Manoodledo · 12/05/2013 22:30

Does anyone give any credence to the idea that different shaped bumps might reflect the sex of the baby? This will be DC3 and the bump is so different from DS1 and DS2. It sits much higher and is more out the front and less all the way round. I find a small part of me is hoping that this might mean it's a girl this time...

MammaGnomes · 12/05/2013 22:48

Fozie if you go on icandy website and put your postcode in they give you your nearest stockist! Most places won't give you a price online so ring round and get quotes and most places will match your lower one!
We are getting ours (chassis pushchair carrycot and a maxi cosi car seat and adapter) for £550

flipflump · 12/05/2013 23:02

Ready, that's a gorgeous bag. I've gone for the PacaPod Napier in driftwood. Can't wait to fill it!

Think we've finally made a pushchair decision, Bugaboo is the favourite! Time to get ordering - exciting.

Hope everyone is feeling well. Apart from aching hips in bed, I'm loving this trimester, long may the feeling last.

Readytosettle · 12/05/2013 23:03

Oh dear, I fear my baby spending may be escalating. Have just discovered the eBay app (soo much easier than the actual website!) and have managed to acquire the Tiny Love Classic Mobile that I've had my eye on for weeks at a bargain price...must not get addicted, must not get addicted.

Readytosettle · 12/05/2013 23:07

OMG flip a nappy bag that holds a laptop!! Dare I ask if the laptop is for u or the baby?! Very nice tho ;-)

flipflump · 12/05/2013 23:16

Ha, there won't be a laptop going in there. Just more paraphanelia!! Unless of course we have a child genius and then baby will NEED its own laptop Wink

CharlW1 · 13/05/2013 03:45

Having read in a lot of the various booklets about pregnancy impacting sleep - I know now how this feels. I have been wide away since 00:15 and I'm now lying on the sofa still wide awake - very frustrating.

Thankgoodness I bought new make up yesterday - I hope the anti fatigue promises of the foundation work its magic today Smile

Readytosettle · 13/05/2013 06:47

charl, I'm not sure if this is coincidence or not but I recently bought some Mum&Me Relax and unwind sleep mist and have slept like a log ever since.

Kittenkatzen · 13/05/2013 07:33

Morning ladies, hope everyone had a lovely weekend Smile

In knicker news, I'm still in my regular size 14 ones but may have to buy a few 16 before the end I think - I e never been a fan of big pants though tbh. I have heard rumours of over-bump knickers - the thought of which, quite frankly, scares me!!

We've gone for the Mamas & Papas Mylo in lime jelly/welly green. It's sitting in what will be the nursery at the moment with a little Pooh bear keeping baby's place warm! It's suitable from birth so we didn't bother with the separate carrycot, and we're going to pick up the adaptor that means you can click the car seat into the buggy base for short trips which will be handy. It also collapses with one hand which we though was brilliant.

cheesestraw that link is great - baby is 55% cooked Grin

I've not looked at changing bags yet but will definitely be checking out some of your links!

charl hope you managed to get some sleep!

Kittenkatzen · 13/05/2013 07:43

Oh, and a weeny hijack with a message for frog......can you pop over to the JSing grads fred when you get a sec please - you are being missed Grin

kimjayne · 13/05/2013 09:03

well, I had lots of lovely rest over the weekend in the hope it might fill me with some energy in time for Monday morning! :( no such luck :( I feel knackered today. Blleeuugghhh. I want my bed.

JammyTummy · 13/05/2013 09:04

Ooh I'm going for a PacaPod too, can't wait to get my mitts on it!
Our next big purchase is a nursing chair for the baby's room, thinking of getting one of those gliding ones.

OP posts:
flipflump · 13/05/2013 09:38

Jammy, the gliding ones are fab. I've used them lots at work. They are very comfortable, the pockets are great for stories etc when baby is a bit older. The foot stool makes them super comfy.

Readytosettle · 13/05/2013 10:02

Just had my first major emotional outburst. Dr's appointment was at 9.10 to try and get a letter authorising me to fly whilst pregnant. Dr turns up late so have to wait until 9.50 to see her. Arrive in room and she has a go at me for not having my contraception reviewed (err I'm pregnant!) and then refuses to write letter as she doesn't deal with pregnant women!

Normally I would have got angry, instead I fled the room and ended up sobbing uncontrollably whilst trying to book a new appointment. Still crying whilst writing this....now need to control myself so that I can re-do my make-up and head to work. Easier said than done!

frogchops · 13/05/2013 10:52

Oh. Im never missed! I'll head over there if i can find it!!
I love the pacapod thing... But thinking about how unorganised I am and how I throw everything in my big work bag and root around In The bottom of it for stuff I'm thinking who am I kidding about keeping that all tidy.

Wincher · 13/05/2013 10:53

What does she mean she doesn't deal with pregnant women?! That's mad! I don't blame you for having a hormonal outburst!

Readytosettle · 13/05/2013 11:43

It's a mystery to me, I didn't even have a medical issue! All I needed was a letter stating the bleeding obvious! The airline won't know that she's not a specialist.

Have made myself feel better by crying again/laughing at myself to the receptionist at work and then to the other pregnant woman in the office. Fortunately there aren't any 'important people' in the office today!

JammyTummy · 13/05/2013 11:52

Omg Ready I think I may have actually trashed her office in a fit of rage Confused... That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! How are you to know who she does and doesn't bloody deal with?!? Nasty cow!

On that note, do you have to have a GP note to fly? We're away to Greece on Wednesday and nothing like that had ever occurred to me.

OP posts:
Readytosettle · 13/05/2013 12:11

I think at this stage it's just to prove you're not past the 32 week cut off, as you could get refused travel just cos someone thinks you look 'too pregnant'. Worth checking with your airline definitely- maybe taking your notes with you would suffice. My airline stipulates a letter from the gp before 32 weeks so I'd rather have it than risk being rejected at the plane door!

weebarra · 13/05/2013 12:28

I'm going to Mallorca in June and will be 29 weeks going and 31.5 coming back. We're flying with jet2 and I need a letter if I'm over 28 weeks. My mw will do it at the 28 week appt.
I needed one with DS2 as well but no one ever asked to see it.
Btw "doesn't deal with pregnant women"?? Don't blame you for bursting into tears!
