Any one else hoping for a 2014 baby?

I'm hesitantly dipping my baby toe in the pool after having a mc last October. I'm 4+2 today with my first and hoping and praying this one sticks.

Here's to 2014!

So sorry Littleballoffur. Sending hugs and Flowers your way.

SunnySentiments · 13/05/2013 14:23

Yoni so lovely to hear all went well. Your DP's reaction is so sweet!

MTBMummy · 13/05/2013 14:24

So Sorry Littleballoffur I know it's not easy, we're keeping everything crossed this little bean is sticky as I have lost 2 since TTC in September.

Massive hugs being sent to you x

Congrats Yoni - that's wonderful news

MTBMummy · 13/05/2013 14:27

To add my 2p to the tight jeans comments, I've been somewhere between a 10 and a 12 for several months now, but this weekend I've had to admit my size 10's are just no longer comfortable, and I'll be packing them away.

Does anyone else slowly pack away their pre pregnancy clothes as they get too small until the have a tiny selection of clothes that still fit (streachy) and maternity wear?

lovelilies · 13/05/2013 14:43

So sorry for your losses ladies, look after yourselves Sad

Does Anyone have really sore gums? The roof of my mouth feels like it's been scratched too...

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 13/05/2013 14:55

fur I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you get a lovely sticky bean very soon.

yoni glad to hear your good news!

re tightness yy to this - since bfp, I have bloated like a whale. Drinking about 400 pints of water a day seems to help a bit, as does peppermint tea (allegedly) - but I cannot fit into some of my closer fitting skirts already. Also, in one of my empire line maxis, I look about 5 months gone already...

I think I had the beginnings of nausea this morning on the tube - although it could be travel sickness! It persisted once out in the fresh air though, and went away when I ate some biscuits - so healthy Blush.

I'm dying to tell my best friends now - had lunch with one today and it was so awkward, as all I could think was 'I want to tell you' and so we had long pauses in the conversation. I might tell them both as soon as I've told my mum - I'll need them if anything happens.

No sore gums yet lilies but it is normal - you can try brushing your gums gently to remove plaque (?) - and your tongue, and use Corsodyl mouthwash. HTH.

Penny31 · 13/05/2013 14:58

Sorry littleballoffur xxx

Frizz1986 · 13/05/2013 15:00

extracrunchy · 13/05/2013 15:07

Littleballoffur that's rough Sad hope you're getting lots of tlc. Fingers crossed the next one will stick. xx

Yoni - fab news. Must've been a huge weight off!

LittlePeaPod · 13/05/2013 15:08

So sorry for your lose little Flowers

yoni congratulations. Fantastic news.

TobyLerone · 13/05/2013 15:12

Sorry little :( Thanks

Re sore gums, yy use Corsodyl, but you shouldn't use it for longer than a couple of weeks in one go. It will discolour your teeth.

Excellent news, yoni! Congratulations :)

Penny31 · 13/05/2013 15:36

Argh I'm really struggling with nausea today and haven't done a thing at work. I'm just focussing on not being sick. I can't wait to go home and vomit in peace and then go to bed!

chocoholicalcoholic · 13/05/2013 16:00

So so sorry littleball, take care of yourself. Lots of luck for the future.

Lovely news yoni Smile

chocoholicalcoholic · 13/05/2013 16:03

Penny - same here, it's all day long now and all consuming. Can't get anything done. Hope you haven't got too long to wait until you can get home.

TobyLerone · 13/05/2013 16:10

Poor penny. Mine is always in the evenings. I can feel it lurking right now, and I have to make dinner.

Frogcatcher · 13/05/2013 16:11

Hello everyone! Can I join the growing (in every sense) band too? I'm 5 weeks today & feel absolutely knackered. I'm going to be classed a geriatric momma at 36, expecting #1 (though I have an 8 yr old SS) & my due date is 13 Jan according to the Fertility Friend app. It's taken me over 6 months to get pg so I just hope it sticks. I was temping & using OPKs for the last 2 months so know my exact date of ovulation which is why I can be so precise on my timings! I also found out ridiculously early (about 4 days before AF was due) so there is no way I can wait to 12 weeks for a scan. Seeing my dr tmrw for first time but DP & I have already decided to pay for an early scan (I've found a private clinic that does them locally) if we can't get one any earlier on the NHS. I'm not sure that they'll offer me one solely based on age.

I know that there was some earlier discussion about how to avoid alcohol in social situations - a friend of mine admitted she used to take no alcohol beers to the pub in her handbag then when someone bought her a drink go to the toilet & switch them over!! Also someone mentioned the antibiotic that makes you throw up - I had these when I had an infection after a colposcopy procedure so you could always just say you'd had a minor internal operation & people won't probe too further. Luckily where I live me or DP generally drive to places so it's not been too obvious (yet).

Penny31 · 13/05/2013 16:18

Welcome frogcatcher!

chocoholic I leave at 5 so not long now! Are you already at home?

I was on a hen do on sat night and not one person asked what I was drinking! So didn't need to use my antibiotic excuse. I had non alcoholic cocktails and lemon and lime. No one even batted an eyelid when I left earlier than normal. I wasn't the first to leave though so it didn't look too bad :)

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 13/05/2013 17:11

Alcohol wise - I've used the 'antibiotics' excuse, and the 'driving lesson tomorrow' excuse (and today it'll be 'driving test tomorrow' - not an excuse), but I'm longing to get far enough along that I can say why - sounds weird, but I'm quite proud of myself for so far not having any alcohol, and quitting smoking, and caffeine (with one or two cups of contraband tea along the way!) - I want to show off!

I'm heading to a boring work thing now, really want to go home and put my feet up.

Sultanajo · 13/05/2013 17:18

Vengeful & Balloffur am so sorry for your losses. Such a heartwrenching time... Really hope u both get sticky beans soon. Thanks

Yoni so pleased for u. Sounds like a fab experience and lovely reaction from your OH. Bet you are beaming!!!Grin

Sultanajo · 13/05/2013 17:20

Welcome frogcatcher! What an excellent tip with the non alcoholic beers in the bathroom switching idea!

Sultanajo · 13/05/2013 17:24

Penny & chocoholic I hear u! Its now constant with me too from the moment I wake up til the moment I go to sleep. Have been wearing my sea bands non stop for the last two days - not sure if they are doing anything apart from leaving massive welts in my wrists, but I am scared to take them off now incase I feel even worse than I already do!

Pea you may finally be joining the nausea train as u hoped u would by the sounds of it. So pleased for u! (What an odd thing to be saying - so please u r starting to feel like shite) Wink

Foodylicious · 13/05/2013 17:29

Hi frog good to see you over here!

so very sorry Little Flowers good luck for the future hon

Congrats yoni mine was all good too todaySmile, am approx 6+1 today thoug think i am more like 6+5, will be more accurate at dating scan.
Like you mixed feelings with others having such a sad loss Sad

Penny31 · 13/05/2013 17:33

Got in and vommitted immediately! Feel better now and munching on baby bel cheese.

Rang midwife and they said they do booking in apps at 9 or 10 weeks and have booked me in for when I will be 10+5??? That doesn't leave them long to sort out my scan? I'm annoyed now

Penny31 · 13/05/2013 17:35

So I rang them back and they insisted its plenty of time to sort out the scan for the following week. Humph

Frogcatcher · 13/05/2013 17:40

Hi Foody glad to hear that all good for you today. Assume it was an internal at 6+1? I think I'm going to try & hold out for 8 wks but will see what the doc says tmrw.

Flowers for all those with bad news. I'm so sorry. It makes you realise that the TTC is actually only half of it.
