Any one else hoping for a 2014 baby?

I'm hesitantly dipping my baby toe in the pool after having a mc last October. I'm 4+2 today with my first and hoping and praying this one sticks.

Here's to 2014!

Wow lots of catching up today...
Welcome any newbies and still thinking of everyone waiting for a scan Flowers

Re: finding out... We are going to wait. Think it will make me push harder at then end as ill be desperate to know and we are going to be dressing ours in robots and dinosaurs no matter what as I am not a girly girl really, i am more of a geek lol!

Dh chickened out of telling his folks today. Cried like a baby when they had gone as he hadnt told them, but he just said he couldnt think how to bring it up and kinda wants to wait until ive seen the midwife on wed as then we might have a better idea of what happens what with it being number 1.

I have looked up early scans for no other reason than I am a complete worrier and can never believe that nice things are happening. I think after the scan though I would still be worrying until the 12 week one so its a bit silly. Need to just 'man up' as they say and what will be will be.
Not much I can do about anything to just have to keep my fx that the bean sticks. I am a bit of a science person so am just trying to think about everything as logically as I can (for the moment at least, I doubt it will last long)

Foodylicious · 12/05/2013 17:03

pod is that at the 'this is my...' place?

LittlePeaPod · 12/05/2013 17:16

Foody. Yes that's they place... Do you know it? Are they any good?

gemma277 · 12/05/2013 17:19

Just as an FYI NHS Direct helpline no longer exists.... Lol its been replaced with the 111 not an emergency number which you cant really call and say Hi, I'm pregnant got a pain etc because the people on the other end are not trained docs. so they will either suggest you see your GP or just send an ambulance out. Not exactly what you need on a Sunday afternoonSmile

LittlePeaPod · 12/05/2013 17:21

Yea I heard about that 111... So they replaced an already crappy service with something even more crap.... Angry. Ha ha

MrsGSR · 12/05/2013 17:23

Has anyone else's brain turned to mush? I don't know if it's because I'm still a little bit in shock or if it's a permenant change! I'm usually a bit scatty but I keep forgetting what I'm saying halfway through talking to DH, and it's taken me about half an hour to google what I was trying to as every time the page loaded I had forgotten what I was searching for or been distracted!

LittlePeaPod · 12/05/2013 17:29

MrsGSR I second that...

MrsGSR · 12/05/2013 17:38

It's a good thing DH is sorting out tea, I'd burn everything!

LittlePeaPod · 12/05/2013 17:45

Will any of you ladies be attending NTC Classes with yor DPs?

Did any of the second, third etc time mums to be attend NCT Classes with your first! What did you think of them?

SpecificDreamRabbit · 12/05/2013 17:53

Welcome to the new people who've joined since I last posted! This thread moves so fast.

Anyone else find that their boobs feel pretty much fine when they wake up and get increasingly more sore over the course of the day? I was actually wincing last night at the feel of my sheets!

With regards to folic acid, I am just taking a general pregnancy multivitamin, which I'm hoping should be enough. Think it's a Morrison's own brand one, and seems to slip down okay. But then I've been on iron supplements for a while because of my anaemia, and so I've got over the upset tummy that iron initially causes (well, in my case it does, at any rate!).

The one time I called NHS Direct it was an automated message, with 'press 1 if your head hurts, press 2 if your stomach hurts' kind of thing! I hung up in disgust and just went straight to A&E!

MrsGSR I don't know if my brain has turned to mush or not, but I've turned exceptionally clumsy? I keep dropping things.

TobyLerone · 12/05/2013 17:54

We'll be going to NCT classes this time.

Went to NHS classes with DC1 (14 years ago!), and they were fine. But never been to NCT ones. DH wants to go this time, and I've heard good things about making friends and keeping in touch with NCT classes. I didn't fancy that at 21, but I'm old and staid now :o

LittlePeaPod · 12/05/2013 17:58

Toby. I am old (37) first time mum to be and sad too. Wink

SpecificDreamRabbit · 12/05/2013 17:59

I'll probably do all the classes I can. I've just moved to a new area, so I'm looking forward to making new friends as well as preparing for the birth!

Maybe when we know each other a little better we could even have a little meetup of our own Smile

LittlePeaPod · 12/05/2013 18:01

Sorry for stalking thread today ladies. Back home and DF is at the Man U game saying Good Bye to Alex Furgusson. Honestly you would think we had lost a close family member they way his going on about it...

Sultanajo · 12/05/2013 18:04

Toby & Pod I am 35 & will join u at NCT. Several of my friends swear by them - am really looking forward to them and meeting people at the same stage as me! .

MrsGSR total brain mush, to the point I was gonna give u an example and now cant remember what it was! Seriously!!!Blush

BookTart · 12/05/2013 18:06

I'm 37 as well pea, and also sad :) I don't know anyone where I live at all, so I'll be tarting myself around all the classes I can get to!

Rabbit, I'm glad I'm not the only clumsy one - I keep breaking things when I wash up. My only symptom today is horrible backache, but I think that is because I keep snoozing on this very uncomfortable sofa like a nanna :)

Sultanajo · 12/05/2013 18:06

Ahhh, have just remembered the example I was gonna give! I have set an alarm on my phone daily to remind me to take my vits!!!Grin

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 12/05/2013 18:06

We did NCT classes for DS last year and I've booked us on to a refresher for this year too for DS2. Last year I was highly superstitious and wouldn't book til post the 20 week scan but that caused panic stations as we nearly didnt get on a course near us at all which was quite stressful. I meet the girls from my nct class e dry Tuesday but want to go to the refresher class this time round too as everyone from my original class will be back at work

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 12/05/2013 18:07

DC2 - not DS2 I don't think Grin

TobyLerone · 12/05/2013 18:07

Oooh, specific! Imagine a Jan 2014 meetup! :o

I'm glad I'm not the only oldie (35!).

Sultanajo · 12/05/2013 18:08

Lol Pod! It was the same here when Raffa left Liverpool!,Wink

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 12/05/2013 18:09

I'm 35 too - although I feel about 72 ATM!

LittlePeaPod · 12/05/2013 18:10

Ohh loving that I am not the only oldie. I thought I would be the oldest on here... Thanks Toby Sultanajo. Grin

Sultanajo · 12/05/2013 18:11

Tell me about it Gobbo! I stretched in bed the other day and pulled a muscle in my neck ffs! Who does that???Hmm

LittlePeaPod · 12/05/2013 18:12
