Running out of space over here so a new thread for all our fabulous birth stories!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SevenReasonsToSmile · 17/05/2013 14:28

I haven't been keeping up with the thread since DD2 arrived, but congratulations to all whose bundles have arrived and good luck to those still waiting.

Someone has already started a May thread in post-natal the link is here if anyone wants to come over.

Boodstress · 17/05/2013 14:53

indeedof welcome little Kathryn. Sounds like a v straightforward birth. I love that overwhelming rush of love you get for your existing children when a new little one arrives. Ain't nature great :-)

ButteryJam · 17/05/2013 15:28

Congratulations to those with new babies! :)

Reached 39 weeks and house is spotless -come on baby!!! Grin. Don't want to have the scrub the floors again!

Bunnychan · 17/05/2013 17:14

Lol buttery my house is spotless too! I can't find anything else to clean. I've had a lot of pressure in my hips and pelvis today and keep getting bad back ache. I hope this means my little one has engaged now!

MammaBrussels · 17/05/2013 17:54

Congratulations InNeed - they really are coming fast and thick now.

Had appt today, currently 2cm dilated and having little but fairly regular contractions. Dr reckons it should happen this weekend - he seemed rather excited Smile. If not I'm booked in for an induction at 10pm on Monday. I have no idea why they chose 10pm, it seems like an odd time to start a medical procedure.

Feeling much happier now I have a definite idea of when I'll have my baby. Here's hoping that this weekend is a busy one for the May babies.

Glad I am not the only one, although she might find that if she wore normal shoes she wouldn't have this problem! Grin

ButteryJam · 17/05/2013 20:04

Bunnychan, all the best! :) I hope things start moving for you.

I don't know what else I could do, I need to keep up with listening to hypno tracks, perineal massage, raspberry leaf tea, and evening primrose oil, and possibly go for a super lengthy walk tomorrow! Here is to hoping ... :)

ButteryJam · 17/05/2013 20:06

MammaBrussells, all the best, you are almost there! :)

ButteryJam · 17/05/2013 20:07

DXBMermaid, gosh I feel sorry for her, that must be awfully painful! Poor woman ...

Zorra · 17/05/2013 20:22

Oh lawks bunny I've been meaning to do perineal massage throughout this pregnancy and still not started! Oh dear...

TerracottaPie · 17/05/2013 20:33

Getting nervous about tomorrow here. Can't stop bloody crying. Don't want to leave my other babies. Balled my eyes out just putting DS down in his cot earlier. Just worried about everything :(

Need to take some deep breaths or something I think...

lollypopsicle · 17/05/2013 20:58

Good luck terra. It will all be worth it in the end.

tasmaniandevilchaser · 17/05/2013 21:05

Oh terra, know what you mean, I'm feeling ....emotional too. Quite apprehensive about being induced again. Need to channel those calm cow vibes! Hope it all goes well tomorrow x

TerracottaPie · 17/05/2013 21:37

Same to you tas good luck for tomorrow x

Oh and the bloody cow was happily chewing cud last time I checked in (which is not a promising sign btw!)

InNeedofSomeSleep · 18/05/2013 05:21

Good lucky everyone having inductions today. X

InNeedofSomeSleep · 18/05/2013 05:21

Luck not lucky x

ButteryJam · 18/05/2013 06:04

All the best terra! ((Hug))

shelly81 · 18/05/2013 08:08

All the best terra & tas sending speedy induction vibes Flowers xx

Boodstress · 18/05/2013 09:21

Good luck with the inductions girls, will be checking in regularly x

babygeek · 18/05/2013 09:23

Thinking of you Terra and Tas, I hope it all goes smoothly for you guys today! Soon you will be back home with a cuddly wee newborn. Smile

Lots of relatively mild contractions here again last night from 3pm to 10pm which then petered out when I went to bed. At least I got to have a nice sleep and the contractions must be helping. Plan is to go for a walk again today as it seemed to help yesterday, pub lunch with friends to distract me and some Eurovision cheese.

This can't be 'false' labour as I am dilating, effacing and lost the lovely plug. I just thought that when the body gets the chemical signals to kick off labour then it proceeds more rapidly and not so stop-start. Must try to stop obsessing, argh Confused

Hope you guys are relaxing over the weekend and/or having better luck than me at encouraging baby out into the world.

40+3

Bunnychan · 18/05/2013 09:32

Good luck with the inductions! :-) enjoy your baby bundles!

I had a curry last night and was woken at 2am with mild-strong contractions/strong period pains which kept coming until 4 then slowly subsided. Woke up this morning knackered and with bad ache. Very disappointed :-( x

babygeek · 18/05/2013 09:36

Bit of research on interweb and it seems that I am just having a long latent phase and it is fairly normal particularly for first-timers. Hmm

Will try to stop whingeing for a bit Smile

ButteryJam · 18/05/2013 09:44

Was reading on how to tell you are in labour, and one of the early signs apparently is a period of feeling moody Grin

www.babycentre.co.uk/signs-for-how-I-will-know-I-am-in-labour?scid=gb_en_mbtw_pregnancy_preg39

Here is to hoping then!! Grin

Livingwithmymother · 18/05/2013 09:52

Good luck with the inductions today, sending positive vibes to everyone today!!

Come on may babies!!

I thought last night was the real thing but nope here I am today, without a baby. Sigh

Happy 23rd birthday / due date to me

Yay! 40 weeks today!

scooby26 · 18/05/2013 11:19

Torrential rain up here and not the teeniest hint despite DTD and bouncing on ball (39w 1d) I know I'm not due yet but DS was early so always presumed this one would
Be! I now have. Funeral I really want to attend of a 30yr family friend - on my due date!- its clearly either gonna be in the minority of arriving on its due date for most inconvenience ;-) Or keep me waiting til 2 wks over! This one so must be a girl for troubesomeness aLone!
