tiger glad you've had some reassurance, rest up over the weekend just in case!

Hi purple and congratulations. Feel free to add yourself and Jessica onto our stats thread, there's a link on the first page of this thread. I was only 3 hours with DD, good job you got there on time if your contractions were 3 mins apart when you arrived!

I'm still having stomach cramps but no more sickness thank goodness. I'm exhausted though and daren't eat much which probably isn't helping.

lollypopsicle · 26/04/2013 17:06

just read that article arti. I was discussing delayed clamping with MW yesterday as it's what I want as part of my birth plan. I had it last time when I had DS in a birthing unit but didn't realise it was unusual, they just did it. I've learnt more about it through forums on here tbh. can't understand why they wouldn't delay it if birth was routine and the baby and mother are well.

TigerSwallowTail · 26/04/2013 17:12

I have my feet up as we speak (or type) seven. I hope you feel better soon.

Welcome to the thread purple, and congratulations on the birth of your daughter Smile.

How long is the cord left intact with delayed cord cutting?

scooby26 · 26/04/2013 18:40

Tiger- with DS I remember having extra clear/milky discharge a week or two before he was born then sometime in the week before he arrived I had two large bloody tinged jelly discharges that I presumed were a 'show' then at 5am the day my waters broke I got up for the loo and had the 'show' was very similar but MUCH larger... So maybe it is yours just coming away in smaller bits. So within a week or so maybe....?!

I'm hoping for obvious signs again ... My waters broke and gushed non stop for hours.. I presumed it would be a one time thing but aparantly it's common for it to just keep coming....at least it left me in no doubt!

babygeek · 26/04/2013 18:59

Welcome purple and congrats. That is great that you have your LO at home now and can give her lots of cuddles.

I wonder who is going to be next Grin, so exciting! No symptoms here, just lots of big punches and kicks from bubs.

Just been organising my labouring playlist, it's ended up being quite eclectic. I have some Aretha, stones roses, carpenters, black eyed peas...deluded first timer maybe? Plan is to distract myself with some good tunes I can sing along to Smile

Only 2 more work days left, yay!

We're just about to pop off to the shops and pick up some little hats, extra wipes and some baby milk so we're prepared for anything. What's the bet now though that after all the commotion she's late and I've still got another 6 weeks to wait.

goldmaple · 26/04/2013 23:41

Painful tightenings have started and they are getting worse (over last 3 hours)! I think this is it!! Wish me luck:)

Sparklyboots · 27/04/2013 00:06

Hi all, fell off the MN thread but have been keeping up to date on the FB group... just got to the end of the thread and gold seems to be heading for the finish line, good luck!

I'm really looking forward to sharing birth stories, should we have a special birth story thread? I found telling my birth story really important and special last time, even though it was pretty uneventful as far as birthing goes. But it was important to repeat it somehow?

Interesting to try and remember the post-birth peeing etc. I honestly can barely remember how long it took to recover in that sense. I had a second degree tear, and recall having discussions with a friend re post-birth baths (with salt) or something but can't remember dealing with - or having to deal with peeing specifically? I did worry about pooing - sorry ladies - but only because the idea of pushing was horrifying. My strategy was to eat prunes every morning and I honestly can't remember a bad experience. I do remember struggling with stairs in the week after, because of the stitches but it wasn't awful; I just had to go slowly.

DS is only 2.4 so I don't think it's the haze of time; it's more like the haze of what was going on at the time - much more visceral and memorable are DS, those moments when his eyes opened and he looked at me; holding him; nearly snatching him off well-wishers when he cried in their arms; his smell; his movement which were so self determined and strong, I couldn't quite believe it. And his poo, which smelt of roses, well, no worse than the soil they are planted in, for the whole time he was ebf. Also panicking about mad details like the number of minutes he fed/ when he went to sleep etc. - stuff which seemed like the beginning and end of the whole world at the time but which just passed so, so quickly.

Can't wait to meet my DD! Except as I'm still doing paperwork it might be nice to go my full 40 weeks so I at least get a week off before chaos ensues!

Good luck gold, how exciting!

SevenReasonsToSmile · 27/04/2013 09:07

Good luck gold, can't wait for some news!

Artichook · 27/04/2013 09:09

Oooooh exiting Gold! How is it going?

I'm so going to be the last pregnant lady standing. I fell weeks away from delivery.

babygeek · 27/04/2013 09:15

Good luck gold! Looking forward to the update.

Sparkly, some really lovely words there about your experience with your DS. I really can't wait to meet this little person growing inside me now! Smile

Bunnychan · 27/04/2013 10:25

Don't worry arti we'll be there together. In fact, I'm terrified of being early- I still have two weeks at work! X

SevenReasonsToSmile · 27/04/2013 11:06

I didnt realise we'd had another arrival . We're now up to 2 boys and 6 girls. Wonder who'll have the first May baby?!

DXBMermaid · 27/04/2013 14:09

Bunny and Arti, I'm also joining you in the late May baby slot!

Enjoying a rare rainy day out here in the desert. Currently lying with my feet up on the couch, waiting for the cankles to go down before heading out to Ikea.

rachywhite83 · 27/04/2013 15:38

I'm exhausted today and feeling really sorry for myself. I'm fed up of being surrounded by boxes. I just want to move NOW. We can move in on the 9th baby due on 12th but I have been told I won't go that far. Its all fun fun fun in the White House ! ( Sorry for the moan girls. Just needed to vent some frustration !)

BeauticianNotMagician · 27/04/2013 18:48

Ahh I'm sure it will all come together Rachy I'm still surrounded by mess and boxes in the new house and I just kind of give up at the moment as I want to put my feet up. I moved into a house on 19th Dec when I had ds1 and he arrived on 24th Dec was in hospital all day 23rd. As long as you have your hospital bag to hand and all babies essentials close to hand you will be fine. Try not to let it get you down there isn't anything you can do about it so just have a nice bath and put those feet up and enjoy your last few weeks of being able to read a book, watch a DVD, go cinema etc Smile

Had ds2 birthday party today. It went really well. Just about to settle down with a Chinese and Britains Got Talent. I'm not seeing the mess of the house anymore I just want to chill out and eat rubbish for the last time before I start healthy eating once baby is here Wink

DizziDoll · 28/04/2013 05:20

Warning: self-pitying post! I am scheduled for an ELCS on Monday and was planning a nice relaxing last weekend with DH and the dc. Instead I have the most painful piles and can't sleep. The glamour of pregnancy!, I am going to try and freeze a purposefully shaped water-logged nappy.

Welcome to the new babies and late joiners! Who is going to join me for a delivery date of 29th of April?

goldmaple · 28/04/2013 07:07

Pleased to announce that baby Oliver arrived early Saturday morning weighing 7 lbs 14oz. We are both doing well:) will update with birth story later!

Good luck to whoever is next:)

lollypopsicle · 28/04/2013 07:25

Congratulations gold. Thought you'd have news for us today. Hope you are both doing well. Thanks

Piles are definitley a design flaw!! Keep your eye on the prize Diz. Those piles will soon be worth it. Good luck with the section.

Wow! I'm so jealous of all these babies being born! I have birth envy. Think I'll be some way down the end of the line though. DS was born 41+1. Would be nice if this 1 came on time, at least, but we'll see.

Bought a birth pool yesterday for my home birth but need to buy a hose to fill it- which is clearly playing on my mind as It's all I dreamt about last night!

Enjoy your Sunday ladies, whether that's with your feet up or with a snugly bundle to attend to Smile

Can't believe how many babies have arrived already! I am SO ready for this baby to arrive, I feel like a hippo. I started getting stretch marks at this point with DD, if only this baby would come now!!!
