Welcome back all June-ers, just realised we were about to run out of space on the old thread.

Don't suppose anyone knows anything about moving hospitals this late in the game? I know it would be little problem if I was planning to have a vaginal birth but I'm guessing it might be more problematic given I need a CS? I have filled out a self referral for UCH and guess I can but wait and see what they say..

Am I being mad I wonder...? My current position is booked at Barnet for 7th June but likely to get date and hospital moved at last minute. Obviously she will be coming out at some point - and I know they likely won't let me go into week 40 - but I find the uncertainty quite unsettling, and the thought of every night having to stop eating and drinking and potentially spend several days sitting round hungry before being sent home again not good....

learnermummy · 06/05/2013 19:42

Sorry don't know Sarah. I did move hospital for first VB as I fell out with consultant and that was fairly easy. Perhaps chat through with midwife tomorrow?

Chubby fingers here too, have had to remove engagement ring and eternity ring but managing to keep wedding ring on!

I've been irrationally grumpy today. Think because there's so much needing done, plus the kids need entertained and I just don't have the energy for anything! Got down on hands and knees to do weeding but only managed to pull up about 5 dandelions before giving up!! House is very untidy after being away and kitchen needs overall after BBQ prep!

Ho hum, just need Wine but will have to settle for Brew.

HeyBongo · 06/05/2013 19:57

I have cabbage leaves bandaged to my feet this evening to try to reduce swelling. It's a smoking hot look.

learnermummy · 06/05/2013 20:00

Gina, can I ask where you got your 200c arnica from? Struggling to source online. Thanks.

Sarah2506 · 06/05/2013 20:03

See that's another thing; I've never had a midwife I could call - another thing I don't like about Barnet! Lots of you often suggest others call midwifes when they are worried - I've never had anyone I could call. Sigh. It will work out one way or the other won't it....

learnermummy · 06/05/2013 20:17

Really? That's not great Sarah. When's your next midwife appointment?

Littlemissexpecting · 06/05/2013 20:19

My rings have been off for a couple of weeks now. After spending this afternoon in garden all of my legs look swollen. Going to have a soak in bath later and see if my cankles go down.

RueDeWakening · 06/05/2013 20:44

Wow, I seem to have found my nesting instinct! Obviously, that means I've spent a lot of today clearing space in the cellar Hmm which will be useful next week (!) when the baby arrives... DH is taking a boot load of crap stuff to the charity shop and tip tomorrow, and I've sold some bits of it on a local FB selling page.

And DH managed to find the bolts for the crib, so that's now up and ready to go - well, I need to put a sheet on it and take the plastic wrap off the mattress, but with a cat in the house that can wait.

I've still got my rings on and haven't got any swelling I've noticed, although I'm so limited in movement thanks to SPD/PGP that it's probably no real surprise.

Ugh, tell me about it - I'm pretty much mainlining painkillers, and I'm so glad I'm on the final countdown, I don't think I could cope with much longer. I'm getting really snappy and horrible because I get so frustrated with not being able to do stuff - feel really sorry for DH, who is bearing up with surprising sympathy, all things considered.

Sarah2506 · 06/05/2013 20:56

Learner I just see a community midwife every few weeks - so literally whoever is on duty that day. Never seen the same one twice.

ginauk84 · 06/05/2013 21:04

learner the only place I could find it was from Victoria health:
www.victoriahealth.com/product/Arnica-200c/9419/0/

My fingers are starting to look a little chubby today, really don't want to take my engagement and wedding ring off :(

Re: hospitals if we need inducing we will be changing our hospital there and then so I shouldn't see there would be a problem changing now?

I am fed up of lower back pain too, driving me mad, I am continuing to do things as cant bear to just sit there, I trimmed the hedges today and am paying for it now. Trouble is hubby works weekends so he's not there to stop me and I pay for it later! I just think if I continue to stay active surely it will get better but it doesn't seem to?

Oh it was nice to have our first BBQ of the year though today, yumm yumm!

cyclecamper · 06/05/2013 22:35

Sarah, do you have some phone numbers on the front of your notes? I didn't particularly have an individual number for a midwife, but there is a number for the Maternity Assessment Unit, and you can phone them for advice. That's how I ended up in here.

Induction tomorrow morning. Having a bit of a wibble, but not as bad as I thought it might be. Yet.

learnermummy · 06/05/2013 23:23

Thanks Gina will take a look.

Good luck for tomorrow cycle, sending positive thoughts x

AlohaMama · 07/05/2013 00:19

Good luck tomorrow cycle!

Had an apt this morning, baby is still head down (good) and ob seems to think I'll likely be early as I was with ds (also good). Had the removals round to evaluate our shipping needs, and starting to plan the exit-strategy. All very scary, the 'to do' list is freaking me out.

Woo hoo, just found out that I am allowed to get signed off 2 weeks before my due date, so I will start leave on June 10th! Only 5 weeks of work left and I might even be able to take the odd day off here and there as vacation.

Littlemissexpecting · 07/05/2013 07:22

Great news Aloha.
Cycle good luck. Your going to meet your baby soon Smile
I don't know how I ever had time for work , my diary is pretty busy for the next few weeks. I'm very achy today maybe did too much in the garden yesterday. Was going to go swimming today not sure if it will make me better or worse.

learnermummy · 07/05/2013 07:40

Feel for you aloha, my to do list is freaking me out and it doesn't include an international house move!

Wondering if I should/could try and leave a week early. Definitely don't have time for work!

MrsBri · 07/05/2013 08:28

Good luck today cycle :-)

Today is my first official day off on annual leave prior to mat leave.

I have a chimney sweep coming at 3.15 to make the real fire in the lounge usable and the fire service coming after 4pm to install smoke detectors and do a safety check. Thought I'd get them all done today :-)

Plus more cross stitch, once I've done some housework.

Nice lie in for now though!

Aloha, all is looking good on the baby front. Good luck with your to do list! I don't have one. Maybe I should?!

Learner, if you want to finish a touch earlier, just ask. Won't hurt. When are you meant to be finishing?

learnermummy · 07/05/2013 09:31

Meant to be finishing on 21st May which is 7 more working days for me. Under normal circumstances that probably would be enough leave, but as it stands I will only have only 2 child-free days before half term, so won't get much achieved then. There's one important bit of work left to do, so might see if that gets finished this week then I could perhaps finishing next tuesday instead.

Good luck with the cross stitch MrsBri, mine is taking forever to finish!

RueDeWakening · 07/05/2013 09:43

Good luck today, cycle! :)

MrsBri · 07/05/2013 09:44

I don't even want to think about how many hours have gone into it already, Learner!! Baby is worth it though :-)

Good luck with work. Fingers crossed you can finish that bit earlier.

pinkbear82 · 07/05/2013 09:48

good luck today cycle - hope all goes well ans we soon hear your little bundle is here.

I think an international house move and a new baby for Alhoa is keeping things in perspective for me!

it's nice to start feeling organised isn't it? I ordered the New Moses basket mattress yesterday - I now have to encourage my remaining cat that this new basket is not for her. luckily it's stripped bare at the moment so she's not catifying anything too much but she does rather like it.

I'm off to meet with friends today, have decided to mix social in with everything else as much as I can. not driving and having moved to be with dp is a slight problem but luckily it's not too far and I'm quite used to buses!

has any one else found sickness has returned? been feeling quite sick on and off the last week, put it down to stress and nerves but this morning it returned with avengeance, much like it was up to 22 weeks for me. hoping it's a one off but have to say I'm doubtful on it!

have a good day everyone x

MrsBri · 07/05/2013 09:55

Pink, yes to feeling sick again. Not too severe here, but definitely a feature. Not sure why.

Bit of a bugger re having to use public transport now. It's not great when heavily pregnant, is it?

And our Moses basket is with a lady being lined. We will actually be ready when that arrives :-) Physically if not mentally! But I think I get more mentally prepared the more physically prepared I feel.

Right. Housework time! Boo!

Steffanoid · 07/05/2013 10:52

good luck today Cycle! hope little one arrives to this lovely weather and you both get to break out of prison released from hospital nice and soon,
i do not feel like i have stopped all weekend, didnt get back from liverpool till 1am on saturday night then had bbq on sunday for 9 guests and then pottering around yesterday, this pgp lark has got me hobbling and paying for it today, luckily ive got to wait in cause my john lewis delivery of the cot is arriving today :)
i haven't had sickness just terrible heartburn, trying to drink milk before each meal, don't think i've ever drunk so much of the stuff, gaviscon doesn't stay down yuk so milk it is :)
hope everyone who is at work is managing to not work very hard and those who are off, make sure you chill out!
