Welcome back all June-ers, just realised we were about to run out of space on the old thread.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
redwellybluewelly · 01/05/2013 13:18

The ultimate question cycle is whether you packed your hospital bag or not?!

Rue the injections are apparently now routine - heparin? - which aims to reduce DVT issues post CS. I'm freaking out about the whole thing now, baby had looked to be being quite big but apparently its not, growth scan yesterday indicated 48th centile, so pretty much looking like being same size as Dc1 (who was 6.13lb at nearly 43 weeks) and I am extremely worried about possible breathing issues with it being delivered a lot earlier than mother nature and genetics planned for it to come out.

Consultant wasn't interested in talking about any of that yesterday - in his eyes I've booked the CS which is the safer option for baby and its a done deal.

So, so tired and only a few more ten hour shifts left... Resisted the urge to smack a colleague earlier who was moaning about working for five hours as she was 'exhausted from period pain'.

I'm not normally this unsympathetic and she is a lovely person but so self absorbed I could cry!

Very excited for you cycle! And yes, most of us will meet our babies next month! :)

MrsBri · 01/05/2013 14:40

Wow, cycle, how exciting!! I think I may go into meltdown if Baby B attempts too early an exit though. Any time after full term of 37 weeks (the proper 37 weeks, not the adjusted 37 weeks) will do me!

I hope your stay is comfy and you get looked after well.

Pink, Baby B has been roaming round all day. It is getting rather uncomfortable. I wish I knew what he was up to with all his fidgeting as my bits are getting a battering from within!

Forget, should have just chinned the stupid bitch! But 10 hour shifts?! Holy shit! Rather you than me. Less than 2 days to go now, thank god. Bored of work now, it has to be said. And of being trapped inside working when it is lovely outside!

forgetmenots · 01/05/2013 14:43

believe me when I say Mrsbri I'm not usually an angry person but I was sorely tempted... My actual response was to laugh which I think may have offended her more!

Counting them down now...! :)

cyclecamper · 01/05/2013 14:50

redwelly I'd started packing and had clothes stacked next to it. My (very religous!) sister went and collected things last night and left out all the clingy clothes except one pair of leggings and packed baggy things. she also packed 3 and a half sets of night wear and only one set of day clothes. Since I will cheerfully sleep in today's leggings and t-shirt, but like to wear new tomorrow, this is rather the wrong way round!

MrsBri · 01/05/2013 14:54

Ha! Even better :-)

I love that we are starting to finish work now / soon. Though it is feeling a bit too real now it is next month!

Eek!

MrsBri · 01/05/2013 14:55

Cycle, half set of nightwear? Top or bottom? Which bit will you be flashing? :-)

redwellybluewelly · 01/05/2013 15:25

Get to this stage of pregnancy and everything is clingy! Lol!

forgetmenots · 01/05/2013 15:47

I find it a wee bit funny that naked is somehow more modest than clingy cycle! Bless her!

You're right as ever MrsB, to coin a phrase, This shit just got real!!

Littlemissexpecting · 01/05/2013 15:53

All this talk of early babies is rather scary!!
Who has the last due date in June? I'm hoping lo arrives in June as planned, I really don't fancy going into July. But I'm not organised enough for May either, especially as DH and I are hoping to get a few days away together in the next few weeks.
I keep getting what feels like cystitis twinges but doesn't really come to anything. Should I be concerned? I have mw next week. He is back to having a good wiggle now thankfully and enjoying my ribs a little too much. Finish work end of this week, cannot come quick enough, I can't seem to manage without an afternoon nap!!

learnermummy · 01/05/2013 15:59

I really hope my little one stays put a bit longer. DH and I have a lovely child free weekend away planned this weekend. It's our 10th wedding anniversary at the end of June, so decided to celebrate early. Don't want to miss that!

Littlemissexpecting · 01/05/2013 16:50

Congratulations learner!
It's our third in June so we're also celebrating early!

DontmindifIdo · 01/05/2013 17:54

cycle - can you send back your DH with a list to go get the clothes you actually need??

So today - sunshine and nesting instinct kicking in combined, I've spent £70 in the garden centre, filled a bag of garden waste from weeding the front, but then suddenly ran out of energy, I think I've clearly overdone it.

In other news, cold cocktail sausages appear to be the snacky food I've been craving for the last few weeks and finally found out by accident what it is I "need"

AlohaMama · 01/05/2013 18:02

good work dontmind. I'm trying to instill the nesting instinct in dh so he can get on with all the diy projects while I'm at work. he made good progress in the garden yesterday so it's not going too badly!

congrats learner!

littlemiss, I'm 24th June, but I'm sure there are a couple after me. gina, aren't you 27th? I'm sure some of us will go over into July. Please not me though!

learnermummy · 01/05/2013 18:05

mmm cocktail sausages.......shame I have none in the house.

AlohaMama · 01/05/2013 18:09

it's 7 am here. the thought of eating cocktail sausages is not sounding very appealing right now. mind you, a decent bacon sarnie....

DontmindifIdo · 01/05/2013 18:11

Learner - is there not a 24 hour Sainburys or Tescos near you? Surely DP could be dispached for snacky food?

Steffanoid · 01/05/2013 18:13

I could really eat a pack of cocktail sausages right now....only just been to the shop dont think dp will go out again dammit

ginauk84 · 01/05/2013 19:36

Littlemissexpecting I am 27th June so expecting her to probably be a July baby, especially being a first too. I want to use our MLU though so really hoping she appears of her own accord as I really don't like our local hospital which is where I would have to be induced.

I have finally got my maternity PJs today and have also bought a couple of lovely dresses from New Look which make me feel a bit more feminine and less like a hippo but just have to avoid looking at tree trunk legs lol!! The one dress I think I will use to come in and out of hospital.

redwellybluewelly · 01/05/2013 19:39

gina where did you find the maternity PJs and did your new look dresses come from the maternity range? There is no way I'll be in my jeans for mich longer, partly because of baby being low and partly as they are too hot!

learnermummy · 01/05/2013 20:04

Dontmind he's back now so could be a plan.....

I recently bought a lovely maxi dress from gap maternity but haven't worn yet - maybe this weekend. Know what you mean about uncomfy jeans red. Might drag DS1 to H&M tomorrow as school is shut for polling.

Baby has been constantly wriggling today - like a washing machine in there, really uncomfortable!

Sunbeam18 · 01/05/2013 20:26

Yeah, I'm almost out of my maternity jeans too. I thought they would last the course but the seam bit below the bump band really digs in and feels tight (JoJo ones).

Steffanoid · 01/05/2013 20:27

is anyone else having what can only be described as period pains going on, have had some wriggling today this is just Braxton hicks going on here isn't it? just getting them every now and again, not constant pain

ginauk84 · 01/05/2013 20:30

redwellybluewelly I ended up with some hot milk PJs from eBay as just couldn't find anything nice anywhere, the hot milk stuff is expensive new so didn't want to spend a fortune as will only where them for hospital.

New Look dresses are in maternity I did try their normal midi dresses but they didn't fit correctly as I am quite short in the torso. In fact tried a load of other maternity dresses on and there wasn't enough coverage on the boob lol, these are the two I bought:

AlohaMama · 01/05/2013 20:33

steff i wouldn't describe braxton hicks as feeling like period pain, personally but it might feel like that for you. the main way to tell with braxton hicks in my experience is that you can touch your bump and feel that it is hard, and then when it passes you can feel that your bump is more squishy again.
