rockchick I am so so sorry xxxx

Flyer747 · 08/04/2013 14:42

Rockchick so very sorry to hear of your sad news. Best wishes for the future xx

Rockchick1984 · 08/04/2013 15:00

Thanks all! I'm trying to view it as positively as possible - I've previously had a normal pregnancy and healthy baby so there must have been a reason why this one wasn't meant to be.

Congratulations to the positive scans today! Fingers crossed for anyone still waiting.

OrangeBlossom2 · 08/04/2013 15:11

Oh rockchick I am so sorry. You are absolutely right and I admire your attitude but still very sad news for you and your family. Thinking of you and hope you get back on another bus as soon as you are ready.

juniper9 · 08/04/2013 15:12

Sorry to hear your news, Rockchick

Smitten1981 · 08/04/2013 15:14

Errrr, how on earth do I set my profile to not be private? This is the most complex website ever!

Umlauf · 08/04/2013 15:21

Hello everyone! I'm back from holiday and you've all filled up the last thread and got two thirds of a way through the new one! Incredible!

I haven't caught up properly yet but so sorry to hear your news rockchick and how very very sad. It must have come as such a shock and I hope you are getting the time and support you need.

MON I read about your situation and I'm thinking of you. It's such a personal decision and the fact you have to take both your opinions into consideration must be difficult.

I can't remember who mentioned the sharp pains in the ovary area but I have these when I cough or move sometimes too, I didn't think much of them but its reassuring to know it seems normal.

dH made it Facebook official (I was nervous to do it myself!) and people have been saying they had had inklings as I've put on weight (lovely Spanish honesty there!).

I do feel humongous though. It's all bloating :-(

Slippysnow · 08/04/2013 15:48

rockchick what sad news, another great attitude though. Wishing you and your partner best of luck for your future.

HotSoupDumpling · 08/04/2013 16:30

rockchick, thinking of you and hoping you get back on a bus quickly.

HotSoupDumpling · 08/04/2013 16:32

Don't worry Umlauf, I'm so rotund that I'm already in maternity tights...no way this can stay a secret for much longer.

Had my scan too, and it went fine. More relieved than any other emotion.

legallyblond · 08/04/2013 16:33

So sorry rockchick... It's the news we all dread at every scan (happened to one friend at 12 w scan, like you, and to another at the 20 w scan). Take good care of youself x x x

legallyblond · 08/04/2013 16:35

MoN, how are you doing post weekend?

tuckingfits · 08/04/2013 17:16

rockchick I'm really sorry to hear your sad news. Take care of yourself.xx

MumWithCamera · 08/04/2013 17:28

Well that took longer than expected... Relieved that it's good news as baby seems fine. But NHS sonographer couldn't get the nuchal measurement (baby in wrong position and she didn't have time to wait any longer despite lots of moving around, prodding etc). NHS procedure in such circumstances is to wait until 16 weeks for further tests.. which I wasn't very keen on, being fairly high risk age anyway.

So we took ourselves straight off to the private hospital nearby and sonographer had appointment right away, though with the blood test too we were there about 2 hours. Results coming later in the week. So awkward/acrobatic baby cost me £200 Shock but it was worth it for peace of mind, I really would have gone crazy waiting another 4 weeks for nuchal test.

Reading about the sad news for others over the last few weeks has made me realise how lucky those of us are that get to this stage..

OrangeBlossom2 · 08/04/2013 17:55

Hi mumwithcamera, good to hear from you, it has been a while i think? I completely understand you not wanting to wait 4 more weeks. Isn't it too late to get accurate measurements after 13.6 anyway? And time seems to go really slowly during pregnancy doesn't it. Glad you were able to get a private scan so quickly and I hope you get your reassuring results soon.

Haylebop12 · 08/04/2013 17:58

Who else is scanning tomorrow?

Shittingit.com

pinksky · 08/04/2013 18:12

I'm scanning tomorrow with you Hayle and I'm sure there was at least one other person. Am freaking out a bit. I know you sadly had a miscarriage last year? I hope you manage to get some sleep tonight and jus think, it'll be done by this time tomorrow (not mine though, it's at 7.40pm)

Lovely to see a few people back, umlauf, mumwithcamera. I also have a massive tum, umlauf and soup, but it's 100% bloat and I can't seem to get rid of it. Wore control top rights today though and felt nicely supported!!

Congratulations to everyone who had scans today X

MumWithCamera · 08/04/2013 18:19

Thanks OrangeBlossom2 yes I've been quiet online as the 3 year old + running my own business means I haven't had as much time to think about pregnancy - apart from moan about symptons of course!

Time does go slowly!! The NHS put my dates back a week, but then 2 hours later the private scan measured baby as fair bit bigger and their ultrasound looked a lot clearer so I'm inclined to trust that more.. doesn't really matter, not like baby ever arrives on due date anyway!

pinksky massive tum here. might be the ice cream and fatty food Blush Too many Biscuit ..but perhaps it's because it's #2 and my body has never really gone back to 'normal' size Grin

Haylebop12 · 08/04/2013 18:23

Yes pinksky completely shocked us when we were told at the 12 wk scan. Didn't even realize you could get that far with no pain/bleeding so be told bad news. I definitely didn't feel this crap last year mind so I'm praying its because my hormone levels are still high and every things ok. Ill prob sleep well (always do) but it'll hit me in the waiting room I reckon.

Smitten1981 · 08/04/2013 18:23

I think I've managed to get my pic of the saluting baby up.

Haylebop12 · 08/04/2013 18:24

Mines at 2:50 so bit later top. I'm sure there is two others..?

Sanjifair · 08/04/2013 18:31

So sorry rockchick

OrangeBlossom2 · 08/04/2013 18:34

Another little sailor. Lovely! I love seeing all these scan pictures.

Mumwithcamera that is completely understandable! Just glad that all is well with you. I only have time to be online at the moment because it is the Easter holidays and I have a mumsnet tab open while I do my planning. Not looking forward to going back to work next week.

roxvox · 08/04/2013 18:39

Smitten my baby scan salutes your baby scan!

pinksky · 08/04/2013 19:19

It is an awful thing to happen, Hayle. I'm so sorry any of us have to experience it. But you have had the worst pg symptoms so I reckon that's an excellent omen. Rockchick I really admire your attitude. I hope the next days and weeks are easy on you X

Smitten, excellent pic, how lovely.

I have just brought home for my dinner... refresher ice lollies! I don't think the pack will last long.
