Soupqueen · 08/04/2013 20:02

rockchick, so sorry to hear your news.

Congrats to the other scanners today and good luck for those scanning tomorrow.

I picked up fruit pastille ice lollies the other day in the supermarket and then put them back, wishing I had bought them now!

Natalieand · 08/04/2013 20:07

Blimey what a day I've had!!

Dh was up all night with Increasing abdominal pain which resulted in being in a+e at 8.30am ...appendicitis so he's in hospital now on the emergency list to have his appendix removed, I've just got home put dd to bed (luckily for us family helped out by having her today) and climbed into bed like a star fish (cos I can lol) and had a mars ice cream....ice cream/lollies must be the way forward lol.

Excellent news on all the good scans, loving the sailor pic smitten

Best of luck to those scanning tomorrow especially u haylebop I no how anxious u r. Will be thinking of u all

Seriously after today's hospital experience I have a feeling I'm gunna need a bank loan just to pay for parking when I'm in labour especially as my last labour was 36 hours!! Ouch £6 for 4 hours parking - criminal!!!!!

favellio · 08/04/2013 20:08

So sorry rockchick. Thinking of you and your family Thanks

OrangeBlossom2 · 08/04/2013 20:18

Sorry to hear about your husband Natalie and hope he gets it removed soon and has a speedy recovery.

MotherOfNations · 08/04/2013 20:23

Really sorry to hear your news rockchick. This thread has certainly had a lot of bad luck.
I was going to ask about CVS at my scan tomorrow but after a lot of agonising we've decided that with a Hygroma the size of the one our baby has there would be little point. It may rule out chromosomal abnormalities but not heart defects or genetic problems and more than likely the hygroma would develop into hydrops and we'd lose our baby anyway.
So unless there is a dramatic change at the scan tomorrow I am stepping off the bus. I hope you all understand my decision and I'm looking forward to meeting all the others who've had bad news this time on athother bus soon.

Wickedgirl · 08/04/2013 20:35

MON......you are so brave.

I hope everything works out for you xx

Soupqueen · 08/04/2013 20:41

Mon, I'm sure you will make the right decision for you and your family. Wishing you strength.

MotherOfNations · 08/04/2013 20:41

I don't feel brave. I just know that neither of us could cope with losing the baby later on in pregnancy or after the birth. That would unbearable.

JellyCurls · 08/04/2013 20:43

MoN I understand your decision fully and admire the strength you have shown these past weeks. I wish you the best of luck for tomorrow and the future if there is no change in baby. You and your family are in my thoughts tonight and for scan tomorrow x

rockchick I am so sorry for your bad scan today I hope the next weeks are kind to you and you are getting lots of real life support.

natalie I hope your DH makes a quick recovery but am shocked you have to pay for hospital parking, is that normal? It's free where we live.

To those who had good scans today, great news and fab pictures, and finally good luck to all scanning tomorrow x

FeministInTraining · 08/04/2013 20:43

Sorry to hear your news Rockchick I hope you're back on another bus as soon as you're ready.

MoN so sorry you've been put in such a difficult position- it's clear from your posts that this is not something you've taken lightly and you have been very brave in sharing your feelings with us. Sending you lots of good vibes and hoping that things work out for you sooner rather than later Flowers

pinksky · 08/04/2013 20:47

MoN it's a heartbreaking decision and neither carrying on nor ending now is the easy option. I'm just so sorry this has happened to you. I will light a candle for you and your bean. I hope you get lots of support, and that when you are on a bus again it is an easy journey. XXX

jelly another one here that hospital charges for parking :-(

JellyCurls · 08/04/2013 21:04

So glad I live in the sticks of sunny scotland where hospitals haven't realised they can charge you for parking

Natalieand · 08/04/2013 21:25

I wouldn't mind a small car parking charge but I think £6 for 4 hours takes the bloody biscuit! Perhaps like £1 or each time u leave / return to the car park

Haylebop12 · 08/04/2013 21:34

It's roughly that here natalie £6 for 4 hours + iirc.

Yet you can parlay the local (massive) shopping centre (like trafford centre) for free.

ananikifo · 08/04/2013 21:50

rockchick I'm so sorry to hear your news. I wish you and your family all the best and hope you get back on a bus soon.

MoN I'm sorry that you've had to make such a difficult decision. My thought are with you.

I've spent the evening watching OBEM series three on 4od. I'd liked know what genius decided to advertise brie and coffee during these episodes. Also there was an advert selling holidays where they say how fun it'll be to get to wear a bikini again, and then a bunch of skinny models jump in the water. Who do they think is watching old episodes of OBEM on their iPads, if not pregnant women?

pinkmoonlight · 08/04/2013 21:54

So sorry rockchick and MoN- you're in my thoughts Flowers x

Haylebop12 · 08/04/2013 22:18

Just a quick poll...

How many of you were breathalised at your booking in (to prove you don't smoke?)

Hardly surprising the reading came back as zero.

Is this the norm now?

PseudoBadger · 08/04/2013 22:19

Gosh no Hayle - I would've been furious, offended and refused to do it!
