Oh no wicked bitter sweet news kind of thing. Good news the harmony screen came back normal though. Is 2.9 still within the 'normal' range but at the top end of it? What a long wait for u :-( xxx

thethreeblondies · 05/04/2013 22:03

Ok ladies I'll fess up from the beginning.................I work for Next, so I will be biased in my maternity wear posts Smile It's worth checking the clearance section for some bargains, just looked and there is some ok summer wear and some petites, longs, size 20/22's (and an Xtra long if u are an 8!) there's some crop jeans and a black boob tube I might order!

I'm lucky as I can use my uniform allowence for maternity stuff (want the full price black maxi dress!) so along with stuff I've had from DD's I should have enough!

Shameless plug over (although unless u all visit my store I won't benfit from a bonus from the extra sales!)

OrangeBlossom2 · 05/04/2013 22:05

Sorry to hear that wicked. At my hospital anything below 3.5 is considered normal. Strange that different places use different scales. Fx for all being well at the 20 week scan.

OrangeBlossom2 · 05/04/2013 22:08

I read online somewhere (probably MN) that the oxford street branch didn't stock the maternity range so I didn't bother going in to next. Maybe next time. Great news that you can get most of your stuff with work allowance blondies !

thethreeblondies · 05/04/2013 22:09

Sorry to hear that Wicked Fingers crossed it's just one of those things and has righted itself by next scan xx

CocktailSausage · 05/04/2013 22:14

Congratulations Livened and Fingers crossed for you too Wicked.

Natalieand · 05/04/2013 22:44

Do I have any family history of heart problems wicked?

Rockchick1984 · 05/04/2013 23:33

Was going to say, Next and New Look are the best for longer length jeans, I think Topshop may also do some in a 35" leg (I'm 33/34" leg despite not being particularly tall at 5'7" so have some difficulty in finding long enough jeans). Bear in mind you are less likely to be wearing heels later in pregnancy so try them on in flat shoes!

Wicked I'm sorry it may not be good news but hopefully it will all be fine at your 20 weeks scan Thanks

PseudoBadger · 05/04/2013 23:39

Nervous for my scan tomorrow! 10am....

CocktailSausage · 05/04/2013 23:51

Good luck to you Badger and to all those awaiting their scans Smile

Rockchick1984 · 05/04/2013 23:59

Badger you will be fine, I'm absolutely convinced about it!!! My scan is on Monday, have to see if we are still due date buddies after that :)

How are you feeling now after your fall?

PseudoBadger · 06/04/2013 00:08

Thanks Rockchick and cocktail.

I'm fine today thanks, just the odd sore patch!

juniper9 · 06/04/2013 01:02

orange new look do maternity trousers in 28 inch leg. As I'm a teacher too I bought them a few weeks back as they look professional enough, but still elasticated waist!

I would recommend online shopping to everyone. I bought £350 worth of stuff! Returned all but two pairs of trousers, but got to try it on in the comfort of my own home with a cushion up my top to see how it'd look later on .

If anyone's interested, people on the September thread were talking about a really good deal on a Tommee's steriliser and bottle kit at amazon. I plan to bf, but bought this for later on/ to express/ for when I cry and pass the bundle to dp. Link here

moonblues · 06/04/2013 01:34

Up with vomiting DD :(
wicked sorry about your worries, hope everything's ok when you have your 20 week scan.
Thanks for all the advice about maternity clothes. Remember next being quite good for work stuff last time round, but will have to check out H&M and new look too.
Good luck with your scan Badger.

MotherOfNations · 06/04/2013 01:49

wicked I wouldn't worry too much about a measurement of 2.9. There are hundreds of stories with positive outcomes to be found online with a measurement that low. My nt measurement is 10mm and so far I've only been able to find one positive story and even then the pregnancy was fraught with difficulties.

Sanjifair · 06/04/2013 05:00

wicked my sonographer said anything up to 3.5 mm was fine. Did they give a reason why they thought it was a problem at 2.9?

Insomnia again here. Woke up at 4. Grr. Nap for me later as its the weekend!

Natalieand · 06/04/2013 08:00

Sorry your not sleeping to well sanji at least I can get a sneaky nap later! Xx

How r u and do feeling MoN?xx

Good luck for today scan badger xxx

I haven't heard anything from hosp as a result of my combine screening I had no Wednesday so that must be good news :-) xx

legallyblond · 06/04/2013 08:26

At my hospital up to 3mm is normal, so you're at the top end, but still just within it. I hope all is fine. If it is a heart defect, that needn't be the end of the world at all. My cousin's daughter had one... All fixed now she is 3.5 (she had 3 operations). Even before it was fixed, it didn't seem to affect her life at all, apart from the operations and occasional hospital appointments. She was full of beans and, as I said, now no issues at all (it was a hole in the heart that is now fully repaired). X

pinksky · 06/04/2013 08:27

Wow, so much to catch up on! Happy weekend all. Livened so pleased you had a great scan. Brilliant news. And welcome, cocktail! I'm disheartened to hear about the maternity clothes shopping woes. I know it's going to be a mare, especially work stuff. I think I'll take jumiper advice and do most online. Have also seen some nice stuff on ebay.

I also ate goats cheese with rind yesterday, culliere, didn't think at all. it was delicious though!

Orangeblossom I'm surprised about the consultant led care-I hope you manage to get discharged.

Wicked congratulations on the scan. I'm so sorry there is a worry and I really hope it turns out to be nothing.

Happy scan day to you, Badger. I hope it goes brilliantly Smile

If my new EDD is correct, I am 12 weeks today! Feels like a big milestone.
My sister and her DH and DD are moving to the area from Oxfordshire so helping her house hunt today. Very excited that my bean will have lots of play dates with his/her cousin and I will have some company.

Sephy · 06/04/2013 09:16

I've just come back from a weeks holiday visiting both my parents and ILs - so now they (and BIL and SIL) all know our news! Everyone seemed pretty happy about it, and it was lovely to play with my 3 month old nephew and think we've got our own on its way.

Lots of chat going on while I've been away, I'm sorry to the ladies who've had less happy scans, or even slightly worrying ones. Particularly thinking of you MoN.

I've jumped on the Internet maternity clothes shopping bandwagon as well and have a whole new warsrobe's worth to try on this morning. I guess it's mostly fat at this point from all the extra snacks I've been munching but I have a definite bump at 11+5.

Also have quite a sore stomach from when I sneeze - feels a but like I'm straining muscles there when I do. Anyone else had that?

Hope your scan goes brilliantly Badger!

Natalieand · 06/04/2013 09:17

Who's having a cheeky bet on the grand national?

MotherOfNations · 06/04/2013 09:23

We're doing ok thanks Natalie. I'm off to get my hair done this morning to perk myself up a bit. All this stress sure does nothing for my looks.

thethreeblondies · 06/04/2013 09:30

We are Natalie have watched and had a little bet since I was small and since DH used to as well we have carried on the tradition with DD's, they have had a look this morning and chosen theirs based on what the jockeys are wearing (luckily they have chosen quite good ones and not rank outsiders!)

I nearly posted something similar re sneezing Sephy was having my usual morning sneezing fit this morning (sign bedroom needs a good dust!) and got a really sharp pain in one side of stomach, I'm sure they are quite resilient these little limes and it's just muscles playing giving up but still not nice xx

Natalieand · 06/04/2013 09:32

Lol our dd has chosen one that has a pic of a pink jockey jacket n Stars lol. The logic of their decisions eh! she's 2.5 xx
