Sephy i haven't been sneezing but I can't do a big stretch where i arch my back anymore as it hurts my tummy muscles.

Sephy · 06/04/2013 09:50

Thanks orange and blondies. A week with my ILs pets and no claritin allowed was tough! As you say though orange, they're resilient beans.

Best of luck to everyone on the grand national!

Slippysnow · 06/04/2013 10:25

I've also had the sneeze and the pain when I arch my back whilst stretching. It really hurts for a couple of seconds and then goes back to normal, pretty sure it must be normal- maybe like a cramping feeling. Still scary as hell.
On other weird feelings, my second smallest two keeps twitching randomly any ideas?! Very bizarre.
Re grand national. I'm betting (small) on tea for 3 as that's how many my new family will be come October 29th. ;) if it loses it clearly means I'm carrying twins (haha)

roxvox · 06/04/2013 10:47

I've been getting the sharp pains if I stretch a bit funny too. Always catches me by surprise and is surprisingly painful! Soon fades though.

It's really starting to freak me out that the flutters have stopped. Admittedly I had very few (only 2 or 3 times), but now they've completely gone.

natalieand that's how I pick which horses to bet on too Wink

Good luck to those having scans today!

PseudoBadger · 06/04/2013 11:27

Wow! There's a real, perfect baby in there :o
She put me forward to 13 weeks today, so my new due date is the 12tb October. We are very happy :)

Slippysnow · 06/04/2013 11:32

Congrats pseudo what an amazing feeling for you :)

roofio87 · 06/04/2013 11:51

congrats pseudo!!

I'm just sitting here debating whether to go out later and join in with the traditional post races night out (I live in Liverpool!!) or stay in and stuff myself with a ham&pineapple pizza with black olives on it (my first craving so far,I've been thinking about this for days!!) really can't decide what to do!!

TheFalconsmistress · 06/04/2013 12:20

Congrats Pseudo :)

Smitten1981 · 06/04/2013 12:21

roofio pizza,pizza, pizza.

roxvox · 06/04/2013 12:42

Congrats Pseudo!

Definitely pizza roofio!

I have been absolutely shattered all week and am home alone so am yet to get up this morning (I keep drifting off!). Think I had better get up really. There is a mamas and papas retail outlet nearby so I might go there and see if there's anything reasonably priced (based on previous visits, I am going to guess not).

Soupqueen · 06/04/2013 12:57

Crikey. I just can't keep up with you all! By the time I get home from work, have dinner and pack a couple of boxes (moving on 15th), I'm ready for bed. Hoping to have more time and energy after we've moved.

Congrats to all the scanners! pseudo, you must be so relieved. wicked, that measurement is within the normal range for my hospital too, fingers crossed everything is fine.

I'm dreading maternity clothes shopping. I struggle with clothes shopping at the best of time as I'm short but with huge boobs (34FF pre pregnant) so most things make me look like Ann Widdecombe or a Benny Hill barmaid. Some clothes are getting tight now, but I still have enough that are ok so hopefully I can postpone the dreaded clothes shopping a bit longer.

I have made my first baby/ pregnancy related purchase though, I've signed us up to NCT classes. Has anyone done them before? Most of my friends are past the baby stage, so I'm keen to make friends who are going through the same things.

CocktailSausage · 06/04/2013 13:12

Congratulations on the scan Pseudo. We're due date buddies.

I'd like to see who actually gives birth on their due date, I was overdue by 10 days with ds.

I know what you mean on the clothing front Soupqueen I'm the same - short with big boobs. I'm finding that maternity dresses swamp me and the trousers and jeans too long. For my last pregnancy I managed to find some short legged trousers and jeans but this time nothing so far. Will probably have to live in leggings.

juniper9 · 06/04/2013 13:14

Sephy you can take Claritin in pregnancy- it's the only one that's been ok-ed. I usually take antihistamines that make me sleep for 18 hour stretches, but can't take them anymore.

orange forgot to say I'm also under consultant care for asthma, although at st George's not Kingston. My obstetrician said that they count asthmatic as having had an attack in the previous two years. Since I had one at the booking in appointment, I think they won't let me go! I'm happy to have consultant led care- the consultant is the most trained person who can make all the decisions (and take all the reponsibility). My DP is a doctor, as are lots of our friendsh

juniper9 · 06/04/2013 13:15

...ip group and they are all pro consultant led care (or elective c-sections, but I think I'll pass on that one.) One of his friends is a paediatrician which will come in handy! Although I hope my baby won't need her, in the nicest possible way.

PseudoBadger · 06/04/2013 13:42

I will hopefully have an elcs so will be before my EDD...

cuillereasoupe · 06/04/2013 13:53

I have terrible skin at the moment, and now one dark hair has sprouted on the edge of my nipple Hmm. Not chuffed.

Rockchick1984 · 06/04/2013 14:08

Soupqueen we did NCT when having DS - best thing we could have done! Got to know some lovely couples, who we still meet up with regularly (at first it was virtually daily!!) and although I already knew most of the info from googling, DH found it very informative.

Yaaaay Badger!!!!!! So glad everything was ok for you!!!

PseudoBadger · 06/04/2013 14:43

We did NCT last time too, it was good to meet local people with similar due dates (we still meet up a few times a year with our DPs too), but I found it so great as it brought DP out of himself. I wasn't sure how useful he was going to be :o and it made me see he was going to be great!

Wickedgirl · 06/04/2013 14:52

Pseudo....I'm really pleased everything went well fir you.

I had my scan at the feral medical centre and she said it is at the top end of normal but to make sure at my 20 week scan, they pay close attention to the heart as a high nt reading can be a chromosome issue (ruled out by harmony test and nasal bone) or could indicate a heart defect.

I am hoping it was just high for no reason obviously. I am 13+3 today so have six and a half weeks until my 20 week scan.

Wickedgirl · 06/04/2013 14:53

Lol.....not feral

fetal medical centre

Blooming auto correct!

Smitten1981 · 06/04/2013 15:11

I really can't make my mind up about NCT classes.

I think it might be a good idea as my only friend with a baby has just moved to Melbourne, but I'm not really sure what info they can give me that I don't already know.

I'm sure it'll all go out of the window once labour starts anyway.

DH isn't really keen on them and I don't really like group meeting things.

Do people just sign up to meet other parents to be? What if you don't get on with anyone?

HotSoupDumpling · 06/04/2013 16:53

Feral medicine centre! Love it!

I was in two minds over NCT classes but decided not to book. Apparently our NHS ones at the local hospital are very good. My main reason for wanting NCT was so that DH could meet lots of clued-up dads - he's easily influenced so thought it would be good. Apparently loads of dads are no-shows at the free NHS classes.

roofio87 · 06/04/2013 17:12

well I got talked into going out so I'm sat here in a pretty dress feeling like a very non sexy house and dying for a cocktail or two!! oh well!! will still be nice to get out and see friends and feel slightly smug watching all the drunk half naked scouse ladies desperately clamoring at the men in suits!! Wink

roxvox · 06/04/2013 17:39

I bought my first item of maternity wear! It was a nice stripey top from H&M that looks nice with a cushion shoved up the front of it Smile
They had quite a few nice bits there but I felt like a bit of a fraudster and convinced myself that all of the heavily pregnant ladies were looking me up and down, wondering what I was doing in their section! I'll definitely go back there again when I have a bump to cover.

I've since taken it upon myself to give the house a much needed clean through. Pretty sure I am over doing it (started off by hoovering under the bed about an hour ago and I am now sat next to it exhausted having shoved it back into place. Just the rest of this room and then all of the other rooms to do!

Like you smitten I am not over keen on group meeting things. DH wants to go to learn all about the birth etc and what to expect. He won't take me telling him to watch OBEM as an alternative either!

I can't remember if I've already said it, but I'm glad it all went well pseudobadger! Have you got a scan to upload?

PseudoBadger · 06/04/2013 17:50

I do! Later it will be done...
