here we all are... hoping for nice clear 20w. scans, not too much inadvertent weeing and getting that 'glow'...

Yay! Welcome to team blue waggy and triple!!

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 24/04/2013 20:46

Got my scan tomorrow, very excited to read all your news!

weebarra · 24/04/2013 20:51

Congrats to all on the scan news. We have ours tomorrow!
I reached a pregnancy milestone today when I was offered a seat on the bus. I suspect I look a lot more than 20 weeks though!

Readytosettle · 24/04/2013 21:12

BTW I found a maternity tights solution today....just don't wear any! Slight downside is u have to shave...

fl0b0t · 24/04/2013 21:18

Haha ready- I should have said that! I bloody hate tights unless it's the dead of winter, so never wear them......

I did wear a pair of non-stretchy non-maternity trousers today and ended up with horrific wind! Ouch!

Dorita75 · 24/04/2013 21:22

I'm loving being pregnant too! I love that the sickness has gone, tiredness gone too.

Congratulations to everyone who's had scans today Grin

I had a few bubbly feelings yesterday but nothing today, but seeing as I also have a low lying placenta I wonder if that's why. I had maternity trousers on yesterday but the thick waistband is still a bit tight so I think that's why I felt movement.

We've started clearing things out and moving furniture to make our spare room the baby's room, so exciting!!!

Creamtea1 · 24/04/2013 21:27

So many boys so far! Smile in fact, has anyone found out they are having a girl?

andadietcoke · 24/04/2013 21:37

Creamtea I think I will be. Everyone's had dreams it's two girls!

I ended up in maternity triage today - after the pains this morning started spotting this afternoon. After a long check up and an internal exam it's been attributed to a cervical erosion. So not a great day, but at least I know what's going on and won't get as freaked out next time it's irritated.

Good luck to everyone with scans tomorrow - can't wait to hear your news Grin

JammyTummy · 24/04/2013 21:37

Me! Me! I'm having a girl!

CharlW1 · 24/04/2013 21:40

I'm team pink too Grin

Wincher · 24/04/2013 22:26

Lovely to hear everyone's scan news! Mine is on Monday, not too long to wait now.

I definitely look pregnant rather than fat now. I was jn Costa today having a coffee and DS had a chocolate babyccino, when a woman came up to me and said "I hope that's hot chocolate rather than coffee!". I thought for one moment she was telling I shouldn't be drinking coffee because I'm pregnant! Luckily she was talking about my 2 year old's drink... though he does rather like coffee!

Sorry, random anecdote there...

Creamtea1 · 24/04/2013 22:33

I've had lots of dreams that I'm having a girl, a real feeling! I remember having a really vivid dream about 2 years ago of giving birth to a girl. Question though, why is everything for girls pink?!

KamikazeeKid · 24/04/2013 23:05

Anyone had experience of slapped cheek disease or fifth disease as also known? Worried toddler might have and I made the mistake of googling it and now panicked!!
Will call midwifr / drs in morning

juniper9 · 24/04/2013 23:38

Kamikazee quite a few of us on here have had scares. From the googling I did, including on the TES website for the teacher side of things, most people are already immune. I didn't find a single person who came back as infected during pregnancy.

Ring the midwife and ask for a blood test. Sometimes they can use your booking bloods.

I had to wait a week for my results and I was petrified. Fingers crossed for you.

LexyMa · 25/04/2013 06:46

Morning all, day 4 of commuting for me, and I'm exhausted! Don't know how I'm going to keep this up (intending to stay full time till almost due). Have been getting given seats on the tube ok, the problem is just the walk to the station and generally being on my feet more. And it being a new job and lots to learn, good impression to give, etc.

I have also just possibly done a foolish thing and committed to a training course in week 36!! Five days, serious learning and an exam. Agh.

Team "dunno" here although I only dream about girls and have a couple of favourite girls names (that I haven't discussed with DH).

I've had lots of dreams I'm having a girl...real vivid ones and even had the feeling it was, until priv scan lady said its a boy. I'm still going to ask next week just in case, altho I don't think they usuly get it wrong that way around.

CharlW1 · 25/04/2013 08:09

Creamtea I know exactly what you mean about everything being pink!

Readytosettle · 25/04/2013 08:22

I've already banned baby pink & baby blue....I'm having a little person, not a sugared almond!

kimjayne · 25/04/2013 08:24

Charlw1 and creamtea, Im feeling same about boy stuff! I've never been a huge fan of the colour blue and yet it seems most shops want my child to be dressed head to bloody toe in it. I've only bought one little outfit as a treat (the week we found out the sex) and ended up getting yellow.

badguider · 25/04/2013 09:04

I'm going to have to really watch myself because blue is pretty much my favourite colour. If we'd been having a girl i'd be able to avoid too much pink easily as i don't like it but with a boy i'm going to have to consciously try to avoid too much pale blue and work hard to get him into stronger and more varied colours.

jennimoo · 25/04/2013 09:12

With DD most baby stuff was light pink as it was all gifts. Now she's older its easy to get brighter colours and going through her baby stuff brings back fond memories of when she used to wear that colour (even though I was anti baby pink too!)

Manoodledo · 25/04/2013 09:52

I told my dad I was going to start knitting for the baby and I was going to make a red jumper seeing as I don't know whether it will be a girl or a boy and he had a fit and said red wasn't suitable for a little baby! He obviously doesn't know my mum's been knitting a cardigan in a limey yellowy-green Grin!

kipsonline · 25/04/2013 10:20

Creamtea I am no longer your weight gain/ bump buddy!!! 1lb?!? No hunger?!? I weighed in at plus 17lbs overall this morning at 22 1/2 wks. So think I'm in the lead!!!!! Still all bump though and have been doing more exercise so feel quite fit..

Lexy, you are indeed mad!! I did the same in 1st pg, residential course at 36 wks, gave birth the day after I returned, bang on 37 wks!! I also started a new job during 2nd pg and struggled with the need to work extra hard and make a good impression, almost over compensating for the fact I was about to disappear for 9 mths... Am feeling much less committed this time round now they know I can do the job well!!

We do seem to be more team blue than pink on this thread, v interesting!! We are re scanned nxt tues so hoping baby will let us peak finally then!

RunningBear78 · 25/04/2013 10:22

So exciting to hear all your lovely scan news! I'm on monday afternoon, I can't wait.

MammaGnome I am indeed booked in for the nct classes in Marple - see you there! Also going to try to go to some of the midwife led ones too in July, although will have to miss some as DH is working.

Anyone else (SE) Manchester way want to meet up? Lovely walks/cafe's out this way ...

I love blue, the nursery will be blue (although it was going to be that colour when it was going to be my office). Maybe I'll just confuse people if we have a girl by dressing her in blue for the fun of it!

Readytosettle · 25/04/2013 11:19

It's funny how different people's tastes are. MIL is making baby blankets for both us & SIL. We've both picked out our own wool, we went for yellow/orange/turquoise/pink & SIL went cream/grey....will have to see how different our kids turn out!
