ION I picked up the Emma's diary bag today...much better than the bounty one so def recommend signing up online & then picking up the bag.

Fozziebearmum2b · 20/04/2013 19:54

Thanks for the tip ready-I've signed up Smile

HettySunshine · 20/04/2013 21:32

Me too! Grin

Readytosettle · 20/04/2013 21:39

Hope it wasn't just because I was a the show but there was loads of palmers stretch mark samples (including small bottle), nappies & wipes from aldi, a johnsons pack with a full pack of babywipes & small bottles of baby oil, bath liquid & nappy cream.

fl0b0t · 20/04/2013 22:12

Sounds like you all had fun at the show!

Soryr to hear about "DH" problems. Thanksfully my husband is taking this all in his stride. We managed to get out and do 24 miles cycling today, and he forgave me for going to bed at 7:40pm.... :)

Think we've started to feel some fluttery movements, but onlyif I suck my tummy in a bit? Weird. Had my first stranger ask me about "how far along I was" on the train the other day. Firstly I thought he was trying to chat me up as he winked as an introduction. Secondly I got a bit confused and thought he wanted to know where I was getting off the train! I'm definitely pregnant.

Anyone else feeling that time is now going really fast and you don't want pregnancy to end? I'm still blooming nauseous (pooh) but enjoying my lovely round bump.

ION anyone know of where I can buy a proper maternity p.a.r.t.y dress? I'm stumped. Got a huge asian wedding in a couple of weeks. It's a good friend and I'm expected to attend lots of "bits" of the wedding. It's a huge affair- real dress to impress kinda thing, but I can't afford anything expensive and just can't see anything glitzy and glamourous enough online or in the shops. I'm ebaying frantically, asos, next, new look, and all the big maternity clothes retailers but having no luck! I might have to stay at home!!

andadietcoke · 20/04/2013 22:13

No ready that's what I got in my ED pack from Argos.

Manoodledo · 20/04/2013 22:40

One of the pictures we got from the scan yesterday is a close up of the baby's feet, which is very cute. I noticed today when I looked more closely at it that the baby has DH's comedy massive big toes which look like someone has hit them with a hammer in a cartoon. DS1 and DS2 have them too. Awww! Also, we finally bought a few things for the baby. Was only some vests and a top in sale but it was DH who was keen to buy, which was nice. As it happens we got rid of all our baby clothes a while back thinking we wouldn't need them again Blush. However, we do at least still have the big things, the cot, the car seat and the buggy. Phew!

badguider · 20/04/2013 22:43

Who asked about maternity tights??
I am just back from a wedding where I spent all day in really uncomfortable H&M ones. Instead of one seam from the crotch up the centre of your stomach like normal tights they have two seams and a panel which looks like a good idea - BUT the beginnings of the two seams cut across the top of my inner thighs and rubbed them red raw :(
SO uncomfortable :(

CharlW1 · 20/04/2013 22:50

Fl0 have you looked at Asos - I got a bargain half price maternity dress that is dressy - they had quite a few things to choose from at a reasonable price.

Just bought first thing for baby - a gorgeous dress on ebay - I looked at what I wanted on another site and then thought I'd have a little look on ebay and there are some real bargains to be had. I think I am being very restrained at the moment Smile

Dorita75 · 21/04/2013 07:03

Thanks for pram tips. I got loads of feedback from a post on FB too which basically tells us everyone's experience but ultimately suggests go and 'test drive's as many as we can! So that's our plan....

Am also looking for good tights and party dress for a posh wedding, as well something less formal for 2 hen parties and another 2 weddings. We're leaving buying my bridesmaid's dress for DP's sister's wedding until a bit later, I'll be 8.5months on the big day! I've not been to any weddings for about 8yrs and have loads the year I won't wear these outfits ever again!

Dorita75 · 21/04/2013 07:06

For more free stuff (if you don't mind the emails and some post) sign up to all the online parenting clubs. Got 2 lovely fluffy toys, a cow from cow&gate and horse I think! from apta Wink

HettySunshine · 21/04/2013 07:11

I found a really pretty dress on Serephine (I think that's how you spell it). I haven't bought it yet but definitely worth a look there for party dresses. They sell mat tights too. Smile

CharlW1 · 21/04/2013 08:11

Thanks Dorita have signed up to cowandgate and apta as well as Boots and finally Emma's Diary - will get list of emails and junk mail no doubt but hopefully some good freebies and money off vouchers Smile

frogchops · 21/04/2013 08:15

Signed up to boots weeks ago but have had nothing :-(
Also signed up to Emma's diary but only get the odd email, where are you finding freebies?!
Will give cowand gate and apta a go ;)

kimjayne · 21/04/2013 08:35

Speaking of freebies. I've signed up to bounty and still not received any vouchers for a bounty pack. :( am I meant to get something from the midwife? I was looking forward to my freebies. Grin

CharlW1 · 21/04/2013 08:45

Frog Input in baby clubs in Google and the best link that I found is this one

www.which.co.uk/baby-and-child/nursery-and-feeding/guides/free-pregnancy-and-baby-stuff/free-baby-stuff/

which has links to the best sites.
Also check your details on the Boots website because despite ordering loads from them previously, my address was completely wrong.

For Bounty - I got pack 1 from the midwife and there should be a voucher for pack 2 that you can collect from Boots but there wasn't a voucher in mine but when I signed up on line it says they will send a voucher for the other packs.

kimjayne · 21/04/2013 09:08

My.midwife hasn't givens anything like that as yet :( will have to remind her at 25 week app. I've signed up online but not had anything like vouchers through yet. Boo

frogchops · 21/04/2013 09:09

Ion.... Did anyone know Huggies are stopping selling nappies in the uk?? Got a couple of packs in sainsburys at a knock down price. £4.19 I think for 54. Not sure ill like them but worth a go?? Might be worth keeping an eye out for better offers?

andadietcoke · 21/04/2013 09:48

In my bounty folder (from the mw at booking in) there was Emma's Diary book which has the form in that you take to Argos or Superdrug, and the form for the bounty pack from Boots as well.

Readytosettle · 21/04/2013 10:21

I got my bounty folder at my 12 week scan, you can just sign up online for Emma's, boots took about 2 weeks to send through their vouchers but here now. My SIL also suggested the mothercare club, so I signed up yesterday- apparently they send thru some big money off vouchers...

fl0b0t · 21/04/2013 10:27

CharlW I've been keeping an eye on asos :)
What makes it harder is that dark colours are out (unlucky), I am a hot person naturally and will die in any kind of long sleeves, but as it's an asian wedding I need to keep certain parts of my body covered..... so confusing and difficult!

fl0b0t · 21/04/2013 10:28

AND! being tall (only 5ft 10 but that's too tall for most high streets) maxi dresses are mostly out as they swing about my ankles! d'oh!

frogchops · 21/04/2013 11:45

I'm jealous Flo....at 5ft 2 I've never worn a maxi dress :-/

fl0b0t · 21/04/2013 17:36

frog trust me, it's easier to take clothes up than add a few inches. Trousers tend to be 32 inches max as standard, I'm a generous 33in.....

PurplePoppySeed · 21/04/2013 18:23

Fl0b0t - I wore an elasticated LongTallSally skirt with and Isabel Oliver top at a work party recently. Admittedly, both were black and I already had the skirt-but thought it might be an idea for you? I'm also 5'10 and have the same problem.

I've got the same issue with trousers now, so I'm quite pleased to be preg in summer and have bought cropped trousers and sticking to leggings while it's still cold!

Have you tried here? - www.isabellaoliver.com/maternity-clothes/uk/250/wedding-and-occasion.html?viewall=true
