Poor doggy! Hope he's ok!

This has kept me entertained whilst pulling my hair out about staff being suddenly uselessworking at home in my pjs today.

Derpess I'm so glad it's not just me (in the nicest possible way!). I have no such way to identify other multiples and I think that it would probably freak me out anyway. I was so hurty last night.

fl0b0t · 18/04/2013 13:29

Also- can someone explain to me why I've been avoiding smoked salmon? I thought it was a no-go in pregnancy, turns out it's not! Gutted! I've had a few ss cravings and been disappointed when I've had to have something else. Today I've had a massive ciabatta with smoked salmon and cream cheese. Yum.

Kittenkatzen · 18/04/2013 13:40

Ha fl0 I made that discovery a few weeks ago and can't stop eating it now! Mmmmm......

I had a mr whippy ice cream at the weekend too Shock

frogchops · 18/04/2013 14:58

Ooh I could just eat a mr whippy!! Whoever had a work day countdown of 21 days I'm so jealous! I'm way down the Edd list and work full time:-( in fact I'm going to count them now. will pass a good few minutes!

jennimoo · 18/04/2013 15:01

Sorry about the countdown, but remember once I'm off I only get those 2 days 'off' as have to look after DD the rest of the week...

frogchops · 18/04/2013 15:11

Yes you're right jennimoo, I'm just thinking about how lovely it would be to only have to go into the hellhole that I work in work 21 more days. Roll on! I've counted, its 120 ish for me :-(

Derpess · 18/04/2013 16:15

I really want a creme egg mcflurry but read they were bad because the nozzles aren't cleaned regularly and bacteria builds up. Was going to risk one at the weekend but DH vetoed it- I should stop telling him what I've read!

Pains in hips, thighs and legs been badl today. Gave up and I'm on my way home early. Looking forward to a nice bath later, just hope I can get out of it!

Readytosettle · 18/04/2013 17:17

I've had quite a few mcflurry's derpess ....got a feeling that Maccy D's hygiene processes include nozzle cleaning!!

andadietcoke · 18/04/2013 17:33

Someone at work used to manage a mcdonalds. I'll make some enquiries... Wink

amiready · 18/04/2013 17:41

Hello everyone. Glad to hear things are all ticking along - I haven't posted for a while as I had an exam but all over now thankfully.

Finally told work to a boss that went slightly pale (VERY recent major contract issue negotiations!) but some of my customers have started to guess which is a lovely thing....

We have our 20 week scan tomorrow - yay! Hope everything ok - been feeling lots of kicks which is very exciting! Not going to find out sex as fancy a bit of a surprise and don't mind either way. Probably will find out for number two though.
Still stuck on names...

Had the most amazing pram advice from various people and we have opted for the Phil and Ted Dot! So exciting! Going to get it in the sale hopefully. I live in inner city London and slimline is an absolute must for cafes/tube etc so all the massive tanks were definitely out. This one is all terrain though so will work for walks in the country too - but the biggest selling point is that it converts easily to a double when number two comes along! So many people have told me that they've ended up having to buy two prams in the end so we are trying to think long term.
Haven't managed to find anything else yet although have my eye on a cot from Mothercare. It's funny to enter this whole world of childcare! It's going to be a bit of a shock no doubt!!

I am a routine queen and actually got endorphin surges reading Gina Ford although so many people tell me they throw that book out of the window when the time comes - but looking forward to giving it a go! The baby whisperer seems good too - similar principles but less military!

Anyway, too long a post - phew! Good luck to everyone xxx

andadietcoke · 18/04/2013 17:44

Right - McDonald's update...

The main nozzles and tubes are cleaned nightly with a full strip down and brush clean weekly.

andadietcoke · 18/04/2013 17:45

Ooh, further update (bless him - he asked why I was asking)...

The company also does spot checks on stores for listeria and a couple of other bacterial counts... it used to be a non priority but around 2001 the company took a huge interest in it and made all stores fall into line so I wouldn't worry that much at McDonald's. Id worry far far far more about an ice cream van or pub with a self serve ice cream factory. The environmental health cite McDonald's procedures regularly as best practice in a wide range of areas :)

Readytosettle · 18/04/2013 17:55

I knew we could rely on McDonalds!! :-)

Flo carling zest is lager with a twist of lime, very refreshing for summer....closest comparison would be corona which u normally drink with a lime in it.

JammyTummy · 18/04/2013 17:58

Ooh now I want a McFlurry! Have super healthy tea for tonight but couldn't resist it and snuck in some chocolate cheese cake in the basket too... Blush

amiready I'm about half way through the book and I think I'm growing a quick obsession with Mrs GF! I've heard so many dreadful things about her, which really put me off her books, so I am shocked to see how misinterpreted/ downright wrong many of these points were! So far Gina seems like a woman after my own heart- a woman with a plan!

amiready · 18/04/2013 18:00

There is a Mcdonald's right outside our antenatal unit and I have been lusting over the thought of a cheeseburger for the last two weeks. Almost as excited about that as I am about the scan! Tomorrow here I come! Nom nom nom....

amiready · 18/04/2013 18:01

Yeah me too Jammy Tummy! What she says seems perfectly reasonable! We will have to do a post natal six months spot check to see whether we still think the same then!

Derpess · 18/04/2013 18:16

Thanks andadietcoke I feel very reassured now and ridiculously excited about the thought of having one soon! 😃

Derpess · 18/04/2013 18:17

The random numbers were meant to be a very excited face, stupid phone.

Creamtea1 · 18/04/2013 18:32

I've had a few mc flurries...cadburys dairy milk caramel ones mmm...oh and yes to cheeseburgers too!

Kittenkatzen · 18/04/2013 18:38

Gah stop with all the food talk - I'm on the train home, absolutely hank marvin, there's a woman eating Doritos in front of me and you lot are in about ice cream and cheeseburgers! It's torture I tell you!!! Grin

Creamtea1 · 18/04/2013 18:52

Ha kitten im starving too - we don't eat till 8 ish and it's fish with salad tonight Hmm all I can think of is burgers and ice cream!

Dorita75 · 18/04/2013 19:05

Good luck tomorrow scan buddies!!

andadietcoke · 18/04/2013 19:12

I'm quite excited about the prospect of a chocolate milkshake! Wish I'd asked Gareth before I left work then I could have gone on the way home!

redandyellowandpinkandgreen · 18/04/2013 20:21

I think Gina Ford may go out of the window the day the baby arrives! I read all the way through in my last pregnancy and thought it made sense until the very end when I saw the routines. I didn't attempt any of it with DS.

I want a McFlurry now. I've for a ticket for a free one in my purse too...
