here we all are... hoping for nice clear 20w. scans, not too much inadvertent weeing and getting that 'glow'...

Ok, I'm pretty convinced that I've been feeling baby movements over the last week...but they're not like tappy/strumming fingers, more of a rolling sensation. Anyone else had similar? People keep telling me it should feel like fluttering/tapping but I can't think of anything else that the rolling could be...

Readytosettle · 17/04/2013 21:10

Ha ha Fl0 it sounds like PMT! Have u burst in to tears for no apparent reason yet?? Would chocolate do the job? I bought a tub of Ben & Jerry's choc fudge brownie and maybe a few other flavours as well as some sorbet & ice lollies this week and that would be the perfect medication in this situation (excusing the obvious bottle of wine response!)

Readytosettle · 17/04/2013 21:13

By the way, for those who are not strictly t-total Carling Zest is now back in the shops for the summer....less than 1 unit per bottle & it's lovely!

Fozziebearmum2b · 17/04/2013 21:15

Ready-yep!! I've had the same, I kept telling people I hadn't felt movement as thought it was meant to be fluttering-then got an email from NHS telling me it may feel like a rolling sensation. I've def felt this-wasn't overly pleasant like my insides were moving round...

Readytosettle · 17/04/2013 21:19

Thanks Fozzie....half pleased that I can feel my baby, half disappointed that my tummy muscles are slack enough that I can feel it at 17 weeks!

kimjayne · 17/04/2013 22:08

Frog, Im going to the baby show on 19th may in Birmingham. Are you going too? I got a discount code on mothercare or mamas and papas website so it's only costing us about £10 each. Thought it might be a nice day out. Even if we don't buy anything I have heard you get a few freebies and some handy info. Worth a look hey? And it's something that dh seems keen to do too which is nice. Think he's.hoping there will be loads of toys and gadgets go play with :)

frogchops · 17/04/2013 22:29

Yes kimjayne I'm thinking if going on 18th. Was it the mothercare code to make tickets £11.50?? I'll have a go at finding it ;)

kimjayne · 17/04/2013 22:31

Yeah that was the code I used! It should still be online. Think I found it on moneysaving expert. If that helps?

andadietcoke · 17/04/2013 22:47

Derpess yep - mine are definitely worse from about 4pm. Good to hear it's only going to get worse Wink I'm on aspirin to stop the blood clotting. Oh the joys...by the way - I'm 19+1 as well today - didn't realise we were exactly the same!

ION the lady at Tesco's checkout asked me if I was 'nearly at the end'. I got out to the car and burst into tears. I knew I'd be bigger, but seriously?!

CheeseStrawCraving · 18/04/2013 00:25

Ready I think I might be feeling things too, although it sort of feels like big bubbles popping inside me. Maybe rolling too, so hard to describe! it's not fluttering though and Def not bowel related so can only think it's the first movements. It's so weird but so cool!

WaggyBlueElf · 18/04/2013 07:03

Ready that's how I'd describe it too, though I'm still not feeling very much and I'm 21+1 now! Friend had told me she didn't feel anything til she was 24 weeks though so I'm trying not to worry too much.

My scan is next Wednesday - anyone else? Great hearing everyone's news, just can't wait til it's my turn now!

Kittenkatzen · 18/04/2013 07:29

Hi ladies, just catching up...

fl0b0t you made me literally lol on the train with the picture of you scrubbing away at your imaginary dirty nipples Grin If it makes you feel better, mine are huge atm, but still pink, no darkening yet. Boobs are veiny though which is attractive Hmm

to tuddles welcome back! How are the wedding plans coming on?

kimjayne AngryShock at your MIL, what a horrible thing to say. That's one of those times when you wish you had a witty, scathing comeback to spit at her, but the shock makes your brain go blank.

ready yes the movements I feel are more like a rolling sensation too - can make me feel a little queasy on occasion! Mine are getting stronger and more predictable now too - baby always has a wiggle after I eat, and I know I've left lunch a bit too late when I notice I've not felt movement in a while. Also I feel it more when sat down - in fact I've been feeling movement for 3 weeks now but only felt it for the first time stood up the other day (so ladies who haven't felt anything yet maybe you spend a lot of time standing/walking? I have a desk job...)

On the dodgy dream front I have to share with you my bonkers dream from last night.......I dreamt that DH had the baby with him at work, and he phoned me in the afternoon to say he was going out for drinks with a mate that evening. I said fine. Dream jumps forward to late in the evening, and DH hasn't come home, I can't get hold of him, and the baby has been locked away in his office alone for the night (as you do...). At this point I woke up for a wee, and omg I was FURIOUS with poor sleeping DH next to me! GrinGrin Literally fuming with him for abandoning our baby like that....until the point where (as I was mid-wee) it dawned on me that I had ok'd his plan and it was therefore all my fault! I then spent the next hour wide awake fretting that the dream was a sign of what an awful mother I'm going to be.....Confused

Derpess · 18/04/2013 07:35

Andadietcoke- I hadn't realised either, that's very cool!
I've had a lady at work say I look full term and a random man at the station asked me if I was ok when I was a bit puffed the other day!

I'm booked into a big hospital and the multiple pregnancys can be identified by the purple folder we are given to carry our notes in- I have to say when I saw some of the ladies who are further on I felt very small!

flipflump · 18/04/2013 07:47

WaggyBlueElf I'm on Wednesday too. Can't wait, it's the big countdown. Mine is at 11am, what about you? Last time I had to wait till the end of the day, it was the longest day ever!!

WaggyBlueElf · 18/04/2013 08:12

About 11 for me as well flipflump. I was in the afternoon last time too, so I jumped at chance to be earlier when it was offered this time! I'll be 22 weeks so I'm hoping the extra wait will be compensated by a super detailed scan.

kimjayne · 18/04/2013 08:34

I don't suppose anyone else has sharp shooting pains in their lower back? I started off with slight pain a week ago but now it's becoming unbearable.

kimjayne · 18/04/2013 08:38

Kitten, I just read your comment. You are totally right, my mind just went blank. When my Nanna asked if I was disappointed I did react though. I told her I was over the moon and it would be nice if other people seemed less disappointed. It just makes me really angry.

SGJ · 18/04/2013 08:45

Kitten, that dream is hilarious! I often wake up enraged with DH over something he's done in my dreams (I have a recurring one where he's gone out with work colleagues for a drink, invited them all back to our house and then let them in to our bedroom l watch me sleep!! I usually wake up swearing when I have those dreams!)
Definitely agree that if you spend a lot of time on your feet then you don't feel movements until later - with last pg I was at least 22 weeks before I really felt definite movements, and was teaching 5 days a week then. Now I only do 2 days and 1 day desk work - on the desk day I really notice the difference!

Bargain alert! Tomorrow on Zulily, HotMilk maternity lingerie is on offer, and today I got a Bounty email advertising a cot bed spring matress for £29.95 instead of £59.99!

Readytosettle · 18/04/2013 08:46

kimjayne I have quite a bit of lower back pain, goes right into my bum. I've never had the best back tho so it's not a surprise for me. Apparently it's because your pelvis is shifting position to re-balance your body now that you have extra weight on the front.

Readytosettle · 18/04/2013 09:01

Kitten I spend the majority of my day sitting down, and def haven't felt anything standing up yet (not that the littl'un would have much of a chance bearing in mind how little I get up from my desk!)

Kittenkatzen · 18/04/2013 09:28

SGJ I told DH about the dream this morning, and he just gave me a Hmm look and walked off....haha!

kim hopefully your MIL will be daft enough to say something again and you'll be able to put her firmly back in her box. Honestly, some people.

That's interesting about the back pain/pelvis movement. I've not had the shooting pains, but have noticed a bit of lower backache recently if I stand for a while, and have caught myself kind of poking my belly out a bit too (you know that typical pregnant pose with hands on back of hips leaning back slightly). Have to consciously correct my posture!

kipsonline · 18/04/2013 09:43

Hello everyone! Loving the odd dreams, I dreamt I gave birth to...... A mole????!!!! No idea what Freud would make of that?!?

We are still crazily trying to redecorate everywhere, hall etc this week. Chaos!

My MIL has still refused to acknowledge this pg on any level. No questions about how I'm doing, no interest after 20wk scan, references to baby etc. v sad...

My 5 year old felt his first kick from the outside yesterday (21 wks) the look of amazement on his face was priceless and he told all his friends about it as soon as he got to school. Am loving how excited both boys are now they can talk to the bump and get a reaction...lovely !

jennimoo · 18/04/2013 10:33

Kips - I love that your DS can feel the kicks, so cute. I think it's a while til DD will feel them as she doesn't stay still long!

And weird dreams here too last night: DH cheated on me, there's was an explosion and I didn't know if he was ok (watch neighbours and he's a runner...) and then I found him at tesco where he put our baby down somewhere and we couldn't find it!

I'm definitely feeling better now I'm back on the pregnacare, but it seems to coincide with a return to slight constipation...

And as I work 2 days a week I think I have something like 21 work days left!

fl0b0t · 18/04/2013 11:15

Hehe, glad I'm not the only one with batty dreams! Ready It does sound a bit like PMT (I don't think I've ever really a PMT monster)... What's even more stressful is my sickness has been coming back in the evenings, so I try to ensure that I don't eat any high fat content foods in the afternoon/evening... so I had to not eat the white magnum in my freezer..... Boo!

I'm not a larger drinker, but becks blue has been ok- how does carling zest compare? I'm not brave enough to try low-alcohol wine as I don't want to be disappointed!! (and I can't find it in the shops!)

I have also thought that I've felt "rolly" feelings in my tummy (but at 13-15 weeks and not since!!), like knuckles rolling on a palm. I can't wait to find proper movement.

SIL visiting with our 6 month old neice in a few weeks, so I'm trying to ensure we have all the things she will need as well as helping bulk up our (already full!!) baby room!!

JammyTummy · 18/04/2013 11:36

Had stressful morning today (daft lab fell down a waterfall!!! Just about gave me a heart attack but I swear he didn't bat an eyelid as he swam out happy as Larry at the other end) and have not had any baby feeling at all. Always makes me anxious when you can't feel it when you need!
Mine has been kicking a lot though, and you can actually see my tummy move with the bigger ones.

Finding all your dreams so funny! I've had very constructive dreams oddly enough- as in, must remember to buy new phone cover, lest I smash my screen again...

Had a really bad back last night in the middle of the night! I couldn't get comfy on either side and it felt as though bump was pulling down all my back muscles! I tried stuffing a pillow under it, but half asleep DH very unceremoniously pulled it out from under me and threw it on the floor! He claims he remembers no such thing Hmm
