My bump is a bit like creamtea's but covers more area - my ribs to my pelvis entirely so it just looks like I'm barrel-shaped rather than a "bump" as such.
I get really bloated during the day up in my stomach too - right undertaker ribs in the middle. Its ok in the morning then grows through the day. It's tender to touch as well.

badguider · 14/04/2013 11:18

Undertaker?? :)
That should read "under my" :)

Readytosettle · 14/04/2013 12:41

My bump's bigger, but then so is my waist! Will post a pic later as it doesn't seem possible on my phone....

Am joining the 'overdoing it in the garden' club today. Mange tout is in, broad beans, potatoes, carrots & bedding still to go...have come inside to take on fluids/switch to t-shirt as it's seriously warm out there!

jennimoo · 14/04/2013 14:59

I'm overdoing it on eBay! We've got DDs stuff down from the loft and are trying to get some of it on eBay. Surprisingly hard work, especially as I'm still recovering from that last flu bug. My chest is really painful still.

SGJ · 14/04/2013 15:25

Ah ladies you are v kind, but I did take that photo at 6.30 this morning, when my stomach muscles were winning the flab vs muscle battle. To make you all feel better I will post the evening shot later tonight when the stomach muscles will have totally given up!!
Actually Creamtea and I are a bit further ahead than some and I can safely say that between 16-19 weeks I was despairing that I was headed for a 5 stone preg weight gain! Now it seems to have become more of a bump, plus we basically walked everywhere for a week on holiday and a bit of exercise seems to have helped. So I'm sure you're not all as big as you think, just bloated I reckon.

Readytosettle · 14/04/2013 16:36

Just weighed myself for the first time in 4 weeks...6lb's on, but according to my app 3-7 is normal so I guess I have to console myself with that!

JammyTummy · 14/04/2013 16:38

My bump is a completely different shape- it's properly rounded and has made my belly button pop! It (the belly button) actually gives me the creeps a little bit cause its so squidgy Confused- was an innie not long ago!
I'm still having the needle pains, and they're quite bad when I walk, but not always. I wonder of maybe it's a trapped nerve. Think I'll call the MW tomo.
Also love hearing everybody's purchases! Makes me feel like I'm not the only one getting overprepared.
Hope everyone is having a lovely sunny weekend!

redandyellowandpinkandgreen · 14/04/2013 20:22

Our hospital lets you hire a tens so worth checking with yours? If you buy one it needs a boost button definitely.

SGJ · 14/04/2013 21:37

Oh bumsticks, I've taken the evening flabby-bloaty tummy pic and I now can't upload it! Turns out my email was hacked trying to do the first one, so you'll just have to use your imaginations - picture someone at 7 months pregnant and you're basically there!

frogchops · 14/04/2013 21:52

Quick Q.... Can I take normal indegestion tablets for horrible heartburn?? Just bog standard tesco brand ones? I've run out of milk!

frogchops · 14/04/2013 22:20

I'm giving them a go....and have also just read that hot milk is meant to work wonders. Maybe worth a try??

CheeseStrawCraving · 14/04/2013 22:21

Gosh my bump is way bigger than those lovely compact pics too! Although def huge by the evening, must be bloat!

I think I'm gonna sign up to NCT classes based on your posts, we have only been given two classes, one 2 hour one on birth and one 2 hour one on bf. For a first-timer and based on your posts that sounds pretty poor to me.

ION, for those in Hampshire, they re opening a mammoth Kiddicare on 23rd April in Hedge End, am hoping if I head there early enough on opening day (yep well sad I know) they might give some discounts for bits.... Fingers crossed.

flipflump · 14/04/2013 22:40

I hadn't realised hospitals rent TENS out, I'll check out my local one. Thanks, redandyellow.

kimjayne · 14/04/2013 23:14

Cheesestraw you are gonna love kiddicare! It's brilliant. We got a book of discount vouchers when we arrived which are handy if you are buying stuff instore.
We went looking at car seats today. We have been given a bugaboo (chameleon) and heard that maxi cosi car seats can clip onto the bugaboo base as a travel system? Does anyone know if this is the best car seat brand?
Also, Im confused my the selection of cot mattresses? There's a million to chose from.

jennimoo · 15/04/2013 05:32

Cheese straw - thanks for the kiddicare info, I hadn't heard about the store opening!

Readytosettle · 15/04/2013 06:50

Argh, my back is hurting so much I'm seriously considering getting my old tens machine out today....need some replacement pads tho as it's been a few years since I last used it!

kimjayne my what to buy book says that foam mattresses are fine for cots, but of you're getting a cot bed then sprung is better as will be more comfy for a small child. No need to spend more on the more pricey options...although they say coir is really good if you do want to splash the cash.

BinarySolo · 15/04/2013 06:53

I'm 20 weeks on Thursday ad still not felt any definite movements. I'm starting to worry a bit as I remember feeling ds kicking at the sonographer on my 20 week scan last time. (She pressed so hard it was painful for about 3 days afterwards). I'm currently lying on my stomach in be in the hope that I'll feel something. May have to see the midwife so I can hear the heartbeat. So much for feeling it earlier second time round!

Dorita75 · 15/04/2013 07:06

I think I know the answer to this but just want to ask you ladies for your thoughts....I'm 18+3 today, when I wake up there is a definately avocado sized lump to the right of my belly button. It's always on the right and after I've stood up, disappears into my stomach. I assume it's the baby??!

HettySunshine · 15/04/2013 07:12

We bought a cotbed and mattress from Baby r us on Saturday, we went for a spring mattress as the coil ones cost the same as the bed itself! Oh to have money to burn!

Our friend is living in our spare room at the moment so we are storing the baby stuff all over the house. It'll be lovely when we can start getting everything in place.

Ion DP bought me one of those long pillows yesterday, I'm on my phone so can't check who recommended them but thank you! Best night's sleep in ages Grin

MeanMrsMustard · 15/04/2013 07:12

Ugghh. I am not having a good morning!

It's the first day back after Easter hols. I woke up too early and couldn't get back to sleep so just lay there for 90 mins waiting. Felt ok though. Put on a pair of trousers I haven't worn for 3 weeks, which are a tad tight, but ok. Had breakfast and a cuppa and decide to catch the 6:30 train because its pushing it slightly to get the earlier one as I need to top up oyster. All still ok. Then I suddenly feel really crappy. Trousers feel way too tight, I feel breathless and sick. Manage to undo button and stagger to kitchen sink before puking up every where. Twice. Clear up, disinfect, change trousers, run to train station. Only Oyster machine broken. Use my payg credit, but stupid train is 2 mins EARLY, so I miss it anyway.

Currently on the next train and still feeling a bit sick. Not sure it was lack of sleep, trousers to tight, pregnicare or illness. Hope it fades quickly though!

Hope you are all having better starts to the week.

SGJ · 15/04/2013 08:52

Oh Mustard, that sounds horrible! What a start to the week - hope it passes quickly!
Kim - we have a Cameleon and the only car seats I've ever heard of being used on it are Maxi Cosi or Recaro - whichever you use, you need special adapters to attach it. I would go with Maxi Cosi simply for increased choice in range! The adapters cost around £10 on eBay or more like £25 brand new.

jennimoo · 15/04/2013 08:57

Mean mrs mustard that sounds like a rubbish morning.

I've woken up feeling a bit queasy and super thirsty and hot. Am going into work a little late using some extra hours from last week as I think it's going to be a little weird and stressful in the office first thing: someone's getting in trouble / fired. I find that kind of thing horrible normally and so am avoiding getting stressed...

Creamtea1 · 15/04/2013 10:05

I've got the recaro / cameleon combo and got the adaptors from amazon for £14 but I think it was a good deal at the time.

badguider · 15/04/2013 10:50

Sounds horrible mustard - I was horribly sick on my first day skiing at 12 weeks when I tried to wear my normal salopettes. I think it was the waistband digging in... really made me feel awful - not just pukey but dizzy and horrible.
Next day I wore my husband's salopettes and it was all fine.

fl0b0t · 15/04/2013 10:56

Just a reminder to everyone not to worry about different bumps. I bet if we look all our measurements (including things like arms and necks) pre pregnancy not any of is would be alike. Also, as a photographer I feel inclined to mention angles, lighting etc. My bump looks different in each picture I take of it, depending on the lens aperture, camera height, direction and strength if light etc.

Still having the odd worried wobble this week.. i know my life is by no means over but the changes are huge. I'm independent, spontaneous and low maintenance currently and I know that there will be a lot of adaptation required.

Anyone else starving and struggling to keep within their calorie allowance? :(
