Will this one take us through to the end of the first trimester? Will the sickness ever end? Will we be able to judge genders from those first scan pictures? These and many other mysteries to be solved in... THREAD 4

My birthday is the 5th April, and my scan is on the 6th :o

thethreeblondies · 26/03/2013 16:50

Smitten I'm on the 8th x

Smitten1981 · 26/03/2013 17:07

Yay, seems so far awayyyyyyyy!

HotSoupDumpling · 26/03/2013 17:16

Hello scanbuddies three and smitten!

Sparkeleigh · 26/03/2013 17:21

Oh, so cute Falcon! That's really clear!

I've got my scan tomorrow at 2 and I'm so excited and nervous at the same time.

I wasn't going to tell people but I think most of my work knows now as they were changing our contracts and halving maternity leave. It's sorted to my satisfaction now thankfully, I'm just waiting on written confirmation but I've been trying not to worry over it and worrying about what worry will do to my little bean.

Now I just want to concentrate on looking forward if everything is ok tomorrow!

roofio87 · 26/03/2013 18:24

i think I've put up my scan pic and a sneaky one of my engagement ring!!!Grin Grin

cazboldy · 26/03/2013 18:33

Had my scan Smile all good, but it took so long - they were running nearly an hour behind, then had to wait another 40 mins to see the consultant, and then 20 mins to get bloods done!

been put back a few days (which was what i expected) so am now due the 7th of Oct - which makes me 12 + 1 today.

I feel soooo relieved, and nearly cried when i saw it's little heart beating.

Also been signed off by the consultant, and am on community led care, as long as I agree to a manged 3rd stage of labour Smile

glad to see my scan buddies had good news.....

And really sorry sal xxxx Sad

MotherOfNations · 26/03/2013 18:33

roofio your profile must be set to private. Sort it cos I want to be noseyGrin

roxvox · 26/03/2013 18:35

roofio I want to see! But I think you need to make your account public (ie not private) or something in order to allow us to click on your name and see your pics.

How is everyone who's had their scans coped with full bladders? I know it sounds ridiculous, but I don't think I'm the only one who's slightly anxious about the fact that I seem to have the worlds smallest bladder at the best of times and my letter tells me to drink 2 pints one hour before the scan!

By the way, thanks to everyone for your advice re not holding a baby yet. I feel much more relaxed about it and am sure that within the first 6 months I'll be both walking and holding the baby at the same time Wink

roofio87 · 26/03/2013 18:46

any better?!?

roxvox · 26/03/2013 18:53

roofio, yes!

Your engagement ring is gorgeous! But I can't believe how clear your scan is! I hope mine looks like that Smile Congratulations on both pics!

Natalieand · 26/03/2013 19:00

Congrats on all the good news scans peeps!!

So sorry about your news sal, genuinely gutted for u :-(

roofio that scan pic is absolutely amazing! How far r u in the scan? I'm jel I hope mines like that lol is that on dildo or abdo cam? Xxx

ananikifo · 26/03/2013 19:07

Sal I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I wish you and your family all the best.

Roxvox I had so much to drink (more than a litre in the hour before my private scan) that I think I would have been sick if I had one drop more. I was so nervous that I didn't really think about the need to wee. On the bright side they found my uterus right away!

Re: job applications. I applied for a job last night (internal application) and have told myself that my department would have to deal with my pregnancy anyway so being in a different post doesn't make that big of a difference. The friends who know about my pregnancy (one colleague and one who has an HR degree) has been very encouraging. Good luck to everyone else who is applying!

notsoold · 26/03/2013 19:08

Roofio!!! Lovely photoxxxx

Sanji scan buddies!! Lovely!! Mine will be at 2.10pm! I will be around 10+ 6 according to my scan last week...what about you?? Xx

Tarlia · 26/03/2013 19:11

roofio ring is lovely and scan pic is amazing! I've never seen a scan pic with baby doing that before - I think you are going to have a very active baby boy.

caz fab the consultant signed you off. I forget what managed 3rd stage is, is that the injection in the leg to help the placenta shift?

spark good luck tomorrow. Annoying your hand was forced to tell work, but great they arnt stealing half you'd mat pay!

Yup, hayle I guess we will all be back to work by at least may/June 2014 which is a pretty sad time to go back since the warm weather is just hitting.

I got an early Easter present in the post today (including British Easter eggs) of a small vintage cake fork which has been engraved with 'Eating for two'. Yum, don't mind if I do! I think I'll put this on FB after I've told those I need to between the 12&20 week scans and then see who actually pays attention/stalks me haha.

pinksky · 26/03/2013 19:12

Wow Roofio your scan pic is absolutely fab! Hope we get one as good as that. And your engagement ring is beautiful. What a week for you!! Smile

pinksky · 26/03/2013 19:15

Is anyone else getting past the bone-tired stage? I am absolutely fecked at the moment and it would be nice to know there's light at the end of the tunnel (if so, when???). I'm banking on it to actually get some decent work done...

pinksky · 26/03/2013 19:17

Sorry Caz, meant to say fantastic news! So pleased all is ok and well done for getting back into MW care.

roofio87 · 26/03/2013 19:19

Hehe I know, the baby was stood bang up right at first, then sat itself down!! was an active little bean!! they've moved me forward 4 days so I'm 12+4 now edd 4th October Grin Grin

Sanjifair · 26/03/2013 19:31

Notsoold, I will be 12+6 on scan day. 11+4 at the moment. Booking in appointment tomorrow, luckily my mum has agreed to look after DS as he should have been at nursery but can't be now as he has chicken pox!

Sephy · 26/03/2013 19:34

dumpling, smitten and three me too on 8th! What a busy day.

Roofio amazed at your scan - really hope the rest of us get ones as good as that!

Haylebop12 · 26/03/2013 19:35

That pic is amazing roofio ill be 13+1 on mine so hoping for one as good. I was 11+2 with dd so it's not a great pic of her. Also love your ring!!

pinksky definitely still tired here, exhausted in fact! 11+1 so should ease soon? I'm slowly getting unpacked but ten mins sorting cues half an hour sitting down hehe!

caz great to hear your appt went well!

OrangeBlossom2 · 26/03/2013 19:41

Sal, so sorry to hear your news, I was scrolling through the thread to see how you were and was really sad not to see a good outcome for you, even if it was expected. I am sorry you have to wait so long now to be seen at the hospital. Wishing you very good luck in jumping back on a bus soon.

Congrats on the scans ladies and thanks for the pictures. Roofio I have never seen such an upright scan either, and how lovely and clear.

My tummy looked absolutely huge in a jersy wrap dress today. I think what I wear makes a difference at the moment. Soon there will be no hiding it in any type of clothes I imagine.

Smitten1981 · 26/03/2013 19:55

Sorry for over sharing again but the bloody thrush is back! Even after a Canesten and the doctor's three super-strength pessaries back to back last week. I'm gonna have to go back to the docs AGAIN.

This is so boring now, I can't keep taking all this time off work!!!!

Natalieand · 26/03/2013 20:00

smitten did u see my post last week RE:thrush? Ill repost if u missed it xx
