Will this one take us through to the end of the first trimester? Will the sickness ever end? Will we be able to judge genders from those first scan pictures? These and many other mysteries to be solved in... THREAD 4

Congratulations on the scans, and on leaping forward with your due dates! Thanks for sharing lovely pictures and good news. It makes me feel more positive that things will all be ok. Dildo cam doesn't sound pleasant...

I called the hospital today to chase my appointment and they were helpful and friendly. They said they are currently doing letters for people due two days before me so it should be soon and I am on the system and would probably be on the 8th and 9th April. Am only 9+2 but was worried the letter might get lost and that I would end up missing it. Good that it will be in the Easter holidays so no awkward conversations with boss to book the time off work.

Off for a wedding this weekend. In the snow! I wonder how many people will guess I am pregnant from my larger size, no drinking and lack of energy to dance all night long. Hoping no one will ask directly as we don't want to announce it to all our friends tomorrow.

Head announced today that we are going to ask ofsted to come earlier than planned as we are ready, so probably next term while I am still there. Boo! Thought I would miss the next one!

legallyblond · 22/03/2013 18:13

Congrats all re the happy scans! Any word from Wispa?

thethreeblondies · 22/03/2013 18:34

notso So glad you have had another scan and dates agree, big reassurance!

pinksky My 1st was three weeks early! So was expecting my 2nd early too but she came on her due date! I don't get too hung up on due dates I'll just be vague when people ask as I was with DD's I'll just say mid-end of october!

Bronzemoth · 22/03/2013 18:36

Thanks for the links PinkSky. My MS has been coming and going but I was properly sick for the first time yesterday just as I thought it was getting better...

I told my mum today which was lovely. Although she pointed out she has literally got rid of the children's bunk beds and children's toys in the attic in the last month. I think she had given up all hope...

Orange - dildo cam, can be okay. I think it might be like smears some fine them 'okay' pain wise other ladies find them very uncomfortable. I had a dildo cam and it was 'okay'. I think my other half was more uncomfortable than me!

Natalieand · 22/03/2013 18:40

I had dildo cam at 5 and again at 6 weeks and didn't find it uncomfortable or painful tbh.

What's on the menu for everyone tonight? Hubby is picking us up an Indian on the way home as a treat to satisfy my Craig's Nd a fruit pastille lolly for dinner that I absolutely NEED! Lol xxx

pinksky · 22/03/2013 18:43

Three weeks early, blondies -- was it ok? Did it take up you by surprise?! A vague mid oct sounds sensible.

Bronze my parents had given up hope too, in fact my mum didn't even comprehend it when we told them and replied, 'sorry, you're getting a dog?' I also found dildo cam OK, far less uncomfy than a smear.

orange so pleased the hospital were good. Enjoy the wedding!

Hope everyone has lovely weekends in store X

pinksky · 22/03/2013 18:45

Natalie we're having my nephew (5) and niece (3) for the weekend. It will be chaos! Just trying to work out what to do tomorrow given the weather.
DH has returned home with some foam banana sweets for me. mmm.

Haylebop12 · 22/03/2013 18:50

orange my scan is 9th. Should be week before really but because of easter ill be 13+1.

So pleased to hear all the dates going forward! I've already got forward a day so I'm happy with that!

Only been sick the once this morning, slept 11-2 and been ok since. Not 100% but have kept everything down since then. Working tomorrow but don't think I'll do all 8 hours.

Dd took scan pic for show and tell today, she's so excited. I've also brought my first item for baby. Spotted it today, a babygro made to look like striped prison uniform with slogan "just done 9 months inside". I don't usually like slogan type things but as DH works in a prison I couldn't resist!

thethreeblondies · 22/03/2013 18:51

Yes Pinksky thankfully DD1 was a perfect little 6lb4! (by my dates I think she was about 2 weeks early, but scans said 3) Definitely took me by surprise, my waters went at 5am then I gradually started contracting through the day, she came out bang on midnight so I could choose her dob! Looking back I had signs it was coming, bump went low and uncomfortable and we were supposed to be staying out that night before waters went but I strongly wanted to come home.

With DD2 I only just got to hospital, was ready to push after 1st examination which caused my waters to go, 7lb4 which I guessed correctly straight afrer she popped out! Grin

Haylebop12 · 22/03/2013 18:53

Dd was also early by 16 days at 37+5 although weighed same as 40 weeker. wonder if this one will come a bit early?!

pinksky · 22/03/2013 18:58

Brilliant, blondies Grin So I guess this one is likely to have a swift entry to the world too.

Glad to hear you're doing ok, Hayle

Natalieand · 22/03/2013 19:36

I always wondered what happened I a baby was born at dead on midnight I assumed their bday would just be the following day! How exciting to be able to choose!

Mmmm foam banana sweets!

MotherOfNations · 22/03/2013 19:56

I've just had a roast chicken dinner and am now sitting here eating another bag of rhubarb and custard boiled sweets. I'm contemplating breaking into the stash of cadburys mini eggs and dairy milk caramel eggs I've got hidden in the cupboard for easter.
I'm so enjoying being able to eat again.

Umlauf · 22/03/2013 20:16

We´ve just had the loveliest news! DHs brother, who we were dreading telling as he is on his 5th round of IVF with his wife (moved abroad to her home country as they used up the NHS ones) is expecting his first child too!! There will be cousins within a couple of months of each other!! So so so so happy! Didn´t think today could go any better!!! GrinGrin

MotherOfNations · 22/03/2013 20:30

That is lovely news. I bet they thought it would never happen for them.

roxvox · 22/03/2013 22:20

That's fantastic news umlauf! I always feel very fortunate that DH and I managed to get pregnant first time. It must be so difficult for those who have to keep trying and then have to go down the ivf route, so I am really pleased for them.

Also lovely to think you'll have someone in real life who you can share your pregnancy symptoms with!

Wispa123 · 23/03/2013 07:24

Well our scan was absolutely amazing!! Can't believe how much we could see! Little fingers and toes wriggling around, strong heart beat, excellent blood flow, even saw its stomach! Totally in awe! Everything looks great and got 6 pics!!!! Apparently it's not camera shy!! Must take after mummy!! Also a week further on than we thought so new due date is Oct 1st!! Have since picture messaged almost everyone in my address book! So lovely to hear everyone's comments! Def all a lot more real for DH too! He couldn't take his eyes on the monitor! Just awaiting blood results but not too worried as she said everything looked really good! Just 1 too! Lots of twins in the family! Phew! Good luck to everyone else! Hope your experience is as fab as ours!!!!

34PinkLadyApple · 23/03/2013 08:10

Congrats whispa! Sounds like a fab scan and pulled forward like me! Brilliant! Can we see a pic?

My other half was silent throughout, just staring at the tv, then when she was done, he just said 'lovely stuff' Grin

2inches of snow here...

Iheartcrunchiebars · 23/03/2013 08:27

Lovely post wispa. I'm getting quite emotional!

Pannacotta2013 · 23/03/2013 08:46

Oh umlauf that is wonderful news about your BIL! Are they a bit ahead or a bit behind you? Did they tell when you told your news, or did they tell first? How lovely that you can both feel joyous about your PGs without that sadness or anxiety either way x x

Also loving all the scan pics, it's very reassuring. I didn't buy a fetal Doppler after all, just holding out for the scan on 3 April. Feels a long way away but hoping Easter will make it go more quickly.

roofio87 · 23/03/2013 09:28

hello ladies!! sorry I haven't read everything that's going on on here the last few days, and I don't want to be all me me me, but......... its my birthday and dp just proposed!!! I am over the moon!!! the ring is beautiful and its all just perfect!!" Grin Grin Grin

Rockchick1984 · 23/03/2013 09:31

Congratulations Roofio!!!! Will you try and get married before the baby arrives or wait until after? Happy birthday, what a lovely start to the morning!

Natalieand · 23/03/2013 09:35

Big congrats to u and your df roofio!! R u gunna wait till after baby is born for the big day? :-) xxx

Umlauf · 23/03/2013 09:47

Aaaaaahhhh congratulations roofio!!!!! And Happy birthday!! Flowers !!!

I know its early but are you having the wedding before or after the birth?!?!?

I am so so happy for my BIL! They are only 2 weeks along but for the first time in 5 rounds of IVF implantation has caught. Still massively worried for her because I know how risky the first 12 weeks are and its their last chance really. We were so nervous about telling them being younger and conceiving first try, so we talked to FIL about it and he said he wasn't meant to say as early days but he didn't think they'd mind!!
