Will this one take us through to the end of the first trimester? Will the sickness ever end? Will we be able to judge genders from those first scan pictures? These and many other mysteries to be solved in... THREAD 4

Re spd: I got referred to NHS physio but will be going private next week as pain is getting intense around the hips and don't know how long nhs will take before getting an appointment.

Also may be starting a new job and the thought of limping in on first day is feeling me with dread!

Sal1977 · 21/03/2013 20:29

I asked my MW about dippy egg and she said as long as the white isn't snotty and the egg has a lion stamp, crack on!

I think it turned out to be a bug rather than salmonella in the end didn't it?

JellyCurls · 21/03/2013 20:32

Funky I also have private Physio appointment as can't get a hold of my midwife. Physio reckons she can realign me again and says no reason I should suffer, hope she's right

Natalieand · 21/03/2013 20:39

funkky just wondering and not intending to offend so please excuse me when I ask, are u over weight? I'm like size 22 and worried I'm gunna be too big for a abdominal 12 week scan but makes me feel better knowing they do vaginal scans for other ppl too. If that makes sense

Flyer747 · 21/03/2013 20:45

Sal you just made my day with egg advice....totes amaze. Thanks

Sal1977 · 21/03/2013 21:02

Christ, you better not get sick from a fried egg now Flyer!! Haha

Sal1977 · 21/03/2013 21:02

I've been cracking through fried egg sarnies and rolls...bleddy lush innit!!

roxvox · 21/03/2013 21:09

I bought a full on cheese pizza for dinner, but passed out as soon as I got in the door and have only just woken up... I can't decide whether it's too late in the evening to eat that much cheese.

Natalieand · 21/03/2013 21:14

Do it roxvox baby's asking for it lol x

funkky · 21/03/2013 22:20

natalie its not a problem you asking. am a size 12. Lady tried all sorts, made me empty my bladder, said I probably had too much gas in there and she saw I was near panic mode then offered to do the scan internally. It may be worth asking as its so much clearer.

jelly pain is intense as hubby is having to lift me sometimes, I mentioned the pain in earlier thread and some ladies advised to see physio quickly and I am now thinking should have listened then. Hope yours is not too bad still.

cherrycherry41 · 21/03/2013 22:57

NOOOOO DONT EAT RUNNY EGG- LION STAMPED OR NOT!!!!! Confused
Sorry, for anyone that didnt know- i followed that same advice and at 7 wks pg i was food poisoned and hospitalised by a dippy egg which gave me bacterial colitus which made my bowels bleed and i was severely dehydrated.
Up to you whether to take the risk but i'll put it this way - the pain was that bad id rather have sextuplets vaginally with no pain relief than go through that again!

Rant over Smile

In other news, we've started talking baby names! Making it oh so real now :)
Scan in 5 days Grin

cherrycherry41 · 21/03/2013 22:59

(excuse the terrible english there!)

roxvox · 21/03/2013 23:06

Natalieand I settled for a bowl of cereal! At least baby is still getting the calcium then Smile

I've taken the day of my scan off work. The scan is at 8.20am and I figured that if it's bad news then I'm not going to be in any fit state for work so will spend the rest of the day stuffing my face with ice cream, and if it is good news then I can spend the rest of the day doing everything that I've been avoiding for risk of tempting fate (looking up baby names, window shopping for prams and cots, making final plans as to how we're going to tell our families etc). I seriously hope it's the latter of those 2 planned days off! Roll on a week today...

Umlauf · 22/03/2013 07:12

It's scan day!!!!!

I've barely slept at all from excitement, its like Christmas Eve!

JellyCurls · 22/03/2013 07:17

Good luck umlauf x

pinksky · 22/03/2013 07:43

Happy scan day, Umlauf!

roxvox · 22/03/2013 07:46

Happy scan day umlauf! What time is your scan?

Natalieand · 22/03/2013 07:47

Good luck umlauf!! Fingers crossed for u xxx

10+2, panicking a little as all my symptoms have gone with the exception of tiredness, which could just be a co-incidence. No sore boobs :-( no feeling sick. Which were my 2 main ones. Why can't me scan be next week :-(

Soupqueen · 22/03/2013 07:52

Good luck Umlauf!

I wish my scan was closer too, Natalie. I'm 11 weeks today and won't get it until 12+5. Still, given how long we've waited so far, it's really not that long.

Happy Friday all.

HotSoupDumpling · 22/03/2013 07:58

So exciting Umlauf! I can't wait for this secrecy to end, but it will be several more weeks for me before my scan.

Umlauf · 22/03/2013 08:00

Thank you everyone! It's at 9.30 your time, going to leave soon. I'm 12+4 but not at all sure about that and hopefully will get a due date today!

Natalie try not to panic, I had similar and was excellently reassured by everyone here. The placenta starts doing more and so you start feeling less. My symptoms came back though!

Also, my boobs don't feel so sore in the mornings so maybe just walk around and give them some gravity to help a bit?!

Wispa123 · 22/03/2013 08:22

Umlauf - we are scan buddies!! Mine is at lunch time today. Albeit a private one as NHS have stuffed up (there's a surprise!). Actually quite nervous and the snow isn't helping...terrified I won't get there! Just wanna know everything is ok and how many there are! Twins run in both sides of my family and I have quite a hefty bump already! Good luck! Eeeek! Very VERY VERY excited too!!!!!

Wispa123 · 22/03/2013 08:23

Oh and I'm 11 + 5 today! ish!

legallyblond · 22/03/2013 08:26

Good luck Umlauf and Wispa - thinking of you both x

Wispa - would be awesome to have a twin buddy!!!!

48 hours from scan came and went so we can assume both twins are low risk for downs, turners, edwards etc. Smsll hurdles at a time us my approach with this (now much more risky) pregnancy.
