Will this one take us through to the end of the first trimester? Will the sickness ever end? Will we be able to judge genders from those first scan pictures? These and many other mysteries to be solved in... THREAD 4

So cute bowl Smile

Smitten1981 · 21/03/2013 18:41

I can see it bowlfull congrats! Still two weeks till mine, hurry up time!

pinksky · 21/03/2013 18:41

Pear drops, crunchie, mmmm. My eating isn't great but I'm only 9 weeks, so hoping it'll get better soon. Grazing on carbs to keep the nausea at bay.

bowlfull your scan pic is lovely Smile so pleased it was great. Interesting that people have feelings about boys and girls. I'm convinced were having a girl. Anyone else predicting?

roxvox · 21/03/2013 18:42

Very cute bowl!

As for food, DH is complaining that I only seem to be eating carbs! I don't fancy anything else though. I detest the idea of most of the food I used to eat weekly. I still have the problem that, once I've eaten something (no matter how much I wanted it), I can't stomach the idea of it again for a few weeks. And for the past few days I seem to be constantly hungry!

OrangeBlossom2 · 21/03/2013 18:48

Pinksky, me and DH both think it is a girl, but it is probably just because the two babies we see most often are girls. I want one of each ideally so don't mind really but think a girl first might be easiest. I also have the occasional feeling that they are twins, which run in DHs family, but I don't think I have been ill enough. Though we have seen surprises do happen!

Umlauf · 21/03/2013 18:51

Wow that's such a clear pic bowl! you must be really pleased with it!

I'm in bed now with a crap back. DH cooking chorizo with chickpeas and crusty French bread. Despite the nausea my appetite never wavered!

Well after the traumas of today, I just couldn't think what to have for dinner, so we've ended up with KFC (grim) with creme eggs for pudding!! Healthy or what??! Haha

Iheartcrunchiebars · 21/03/2013 18:59

All of your dinners sound lush....constant takeaways (my dream!), chorizo and chickpeas (yum), KFC and creme eggs (epic)!

pinksky · 21/03/2013 18:59

Yep still time for a surprise, orangeblossom! Most of the recent babies I know are boys but I get on particularly well with my niece so I think that's swaying my thinking.

Everyone else's food sounds great, but if it was in front of me I couldn't eat it! DH doing avocado and halloumi salad I think. Need to force some non-carbs down

Have a lovely evening everyone X

Haylebop12 · 21/03/2013 19:09

Take away here too but we always do ok a Thursday! It's our get together time with my parents.

Indian mmmm :-)

Congrats on the scan bowl lovely clear pic.

PseudoBadger · 21/03/2013 19:11

We're having baked potato with cheese and beans.

Umlauf · 21/03/2013 19:13

Ah so jealous of the Indian Hayle! It's the one thing I miss more than anything else about England! I have an .indian neighbour and wondering i can convince him to cook for me!

Great pics everyone!

MotherOfNations · 21/03/2013 19:18

I've had a symptomd free day today and have been eating like a pig all day after hardly eating at all for weeks. I've just had dinner and Dd3s dinner is in the kitchen awaiting her return from badminton club. I am so tempted to scoff it and just give her a tin of soup. I don't know whether to be worried or delighted.
Has anyone else had a sudden lack of symptoms?

Soupqueen · 21/03/2013 19:18

I didn't have the energy to make anything other than beans on toast!

I've developed a real aversion to salad leaves - used to eat tonnes of them but can't bear the thought atm.

Natalieand · 21/03/2013 19:32

Egg chips and beans with bread and butter

Have had an upset stomach again today so just hoping it stays in one place lol

Scan pic looks amaze jelly 1 week 6 days till my scan now not that I'm counting

Jacket potatoe and beans sounds absolutely amazing right now

ananikifo · 21/03/2013 19:42

Aw I love seeing the scan photos! Congrats 34 and bowl! I would put my 9 week scan on but it just looks like a peanut-shaped blob. (My little peanut-shaped blob!)

I'm so jealous of dinners! I had Subway. Again. Our electrics have been acting up and the landlord took four days to fix it, so most of our food from the fridge is ruined, and we don't have the energy to do a big supermarket shop on a weeknight. I say most because I plan to keep the condiments and jam, but I'm afraid of getting (more) sick so most things are going in the trash. Now that it's been fixed, and I'm getting less sick, I'm going to start having live yoghurt and I hope that'll help with the digestive problems and thrush.

Pinksky DH, my mom and I all think it's a girl. DH and I have been talking about names and we seem to naturally spend 90% of the time talking about girls' names.

SeriousStuff · 21/03/2013 19:43

Beans on toast here! Need to do a food shop...

Great pic Jelly mine was definitely taken too early - all the scans I've seen here so far are much bigger than the head and tiny feet I have!

MotherOfNations · 21/03/2013 19:44

I had kung po chicken with fried noodles. I've just finished off the 4yr olds leftovers too. Had a vegetable moussaka at lunch time and have been snacking on toasted fruit loaf and mashed banana. I'm half way through a massive bag of rhubarb and custard boiled sweets too. My mouth hurts from sucking them but I can't stop.
There's leftover sticky toffee pudding in the fridge calling my name too. My appetite is most definitely back.

Flyer747 · 21/03/2013 19:55

Healthy tea here....bag of cheddars, Vimto chewy Bon bons (lush) pre pregnancy I was a health freak with food, don't quite know what happened!

Natalie chips and egg, yummy my favourite I bloody love it and have been craving a fried or poached egg for ages, can we eat runny eggs because I sooo want one?

Congrats to scan ladies today x

cazboldy · 21/03/2013 19:56

we had salmon parcels with cheese inside wrapped in bought pastry, new potatoes, and peas.....

I really fancied it earlier, but the smell of it cooking really put me off..... I only ate about 3 mouthfuls.... now I have just had a bag of wotsits and a cadbury's caramel....... but now i fancy the salmon again and its cold Angry

ffs!

Soupqueen · 21/03/2013 19:58

NHS says no to runny egg Sad

And someone on the bus, Cherry?, was hospitalised due to salmonella from undercooked egg so I'm not taking the risk.

Flyer747 · 21/03/2013 19:58

Natalie I have just read out to DP what you had for tea his exact words were "oh go make me chips and egg with bread and butter" so off I go into the kitchen :-)

Natalieand · 21/03/2013 20:02

caz I second that! I'm on sofa heating blaring with fleeces blanket wrapped round me still with goosebumps!

Does anyone watch hollyoaks?

funkky · 21/03/2013 20:05

Had my scan today and baby wasn't very clear via gel/ tummy thingy so she asked if I wanted a vaginal one done and I said yes! Loved it! healthy perfect looking baby but it wouldn't stay still enough for her to get a nuchal done. It kept tossing and turning, guess cause i had a spicy meal an hour before scan ? So we are booked again within a week to see if baby stays still this time.

Tbh not too fussed about risk of downs as we wouldnt not progress but couldn't resist the offer of another scan and will get pics then.

I went in at 12+2 but got dated for 13+1 so edd is now 25th sept, but will lurk round here please. Congrats bowl
