Will this one take us through to the end of the first trimester? Will the sickness ever end? Will we be able to judge genders from those first scan pictures? These and many other mysteries to be solved in... THREAD 4

Think of it like this sal there must be something there for her to have picked it up even if it was for only a few seconds xx

Flyer747 · 21/03/2013 16:26

Tarlia, thanks...it's a the bottom of my back central kinda where the spine is. I have suffered with bad backs in the past, but has never confined me to my bed, if I've been on a long night flight and not drank much water or being moving heavy trolleys up and down the aisles....but it's radiating around the front and is causing tummy pains, what feels like a combination of cramps and trapped wind.

I called the EPU at Liverpool women's and they were smashing. They booked me in for a scan on Sunday but said if the pain gets worse in the mean time just go on down....so nice to know the hospital are friendly and helpful. X

flyer that sounds exactly the same as what I have except mine comes and goes and is worst in the evening. Can you let me know what they say? I feel medically alienated abroad with the language barrier!

Yeah sure of course I will. I'm supposed to be in work tomorrow however I'm gonna go and get signed off with a sick note, it's too painful to contemplate working!

I really feel for you not being able to do anything, you are being so calm, hats off to you, you are a strong lady!!

I have all horrid thoughts running through my head atm x

BowlFullofJelly · 21/03/2013 16:51

Hello - so sorry to hear about all of you guys suffering with your backs and fanjo's - pregnancy is such a walk in the park isn't it?

Back from scan - with 3 pics of my little one! All is well, 2 legs, 2 arms, a brain, stomach - all the useful bits! Heard heartbeat and he it was turning and waving and hiccuping - just amazing. Amazing also how he it has grown as well, we had a scan at 8+5 and was basically a bean, now it's a proper little person. Due date put forward 1 day to 30th September, but am fairly sure I will be overdue so will stay put if that's ok? So exciting - sinking in now that yes, I am definitely having another baby oh god what have I done.

34PinkLadyApple · 21/03/2013 16:57

Congrats on your scan bowl! Can you put a pic up on your profile, love to see it...

Smitten1981 · 21/03/2013 16:58

How exciting bowlfull crazy that they are so active at this stage!

BowlFullofJelly · 21/03/2013 17:02

Um, if you give me some indication of how to do it 34 I'll have a go! Grin

BowlFullofJelly · 21/03/2013 17:03

(looks suspiciously like yours though lol)

Smitten1981 · 21/03/2013 17:11

I'm now armed with three pessaries after pleading with the nurse. She initially told me there was nothing I could use apart from the cream. Gah!

Get that pic up Bowlfull

TheFalconsmistress · 21/03/2013 17:13

Has anyone had there scan who has not had symptoms for a few weeks and all was well? I am starting to get nervous!!

cazboldy · 21/03/2013 17:29

Not helpful I know Falcon but I am so glad I am not the only one feeling like that xxx

BowlFullofJelly · 21/03/2013 17:32

falcon and caz I've had few symptons throughout, a bit tired, a bit nauseous, and boobs a little sore and swollen. The last 2 weeks these have pretty much gone as well - boobs slightly tender when I prod them but that's it. So try not to worry - I think some of us just are lucky!

TheFalconsmistress · 21/03/2013 17:40

Yeah caz im in the freak out zone too now I think its because the scan is so close and tbh I am petrified that she has gone Sad (im sure its a girl)

bowl glad that im prob just worried for nothing!

34PinkLadyApple · 21/03/2013 17:41

Falcon and Caz. I had and still had very few symptoms. No sickness at all, boobs stopped hurting about a month ago but all was well at the scan on Tuesday and I'm now 13.1 weeks.

bowl go to 'my mumsnet', profile and upload a picture of your scan (i took a photo of mine on my iphone, making sure I chopped off my REAL name, and emailed it to my work address to save it on my PC) then make your profile 'public' (you don't have to divulge anthing you don't want to!) and we should be able to see it. I'm sure your is better than mine. I saw one that someone at work has and it's so much clearer and more interesting than mine, I might steal it off their desk and pass it off as my own!

TheFalconsmistress · 21/03/2013 17:41

Here's hoping anyhow Grin

cazboldy · 21/03/2013 17:56

yeah, tiredness (but then i was often tired before) occasional nausea, boobs achey now and again, but thats it! i'm just scared of going to the scan and being told it was all a trick!

cazboldy · 21/03/2013 17:56

and I genuinely can't remember worrying like this with any of the others!

TheFalconsmistress · 21/03/2013 18:02

I am exactly the same caz I am very tired and my tummy has got bigger and I had an awesome scan at 8+5 baby is fine but....I am still a nervous wreck!

I just gave myself a talking to though and bought my first thing for baby....a bottle no idea why as I plan to breastfeed however as i had such a large blood loss in labour 3.5 pints my milk never came in last time so maybe that's why i decided it be my first purchase, who knows my mind is not running on a full biscuit box atm Confused

Iheartcrunchiebars · 21/03/2013 18:13

How's everyone's eating? Now my sickness has gone I'm back on all foods! Had a big bag of pear drops today which made me very happy! Tonight's tea is chicken and bacon Caesar salad? How about everyone else?

Iheartcrunchiebars · 21/03/2013 18:13

Bad use of apostrophes. Sorry!

OrangeBlossom2 · 21/03/2013 18:23

Sorry to all having bad backs already. Is spd something that can go away/ be fixed or are you stuck with it now until the baby comes? That's rubbish for you Brew

The other girl at work who is 5 days ahead of me but is telling people has her booking in appointment tomorrow. No news about mine yet and when I called this afternoon the answer phone said they close at 2.30 so I will have to try again tomorrow. I am going to ask her all about it afterwards but try not to sound too interested!

I asked my one colleague who knows I am pregnant if she thought people would be able to tell yet because of my expanding tummy and she said yes but mainly because your boobs are now enormous and ridiculously out of proportion with the rest of you. Confused hopefully no one will be cheaky enough to ask me though, and my head won't guess before I put in my application to go on to the upper pay scale from September...

BowlFullofJelly · 21/03/2013 18:24

Ok I think the scan picture is up, but not on my profile like 34, but in my photo gallery - let me know if you can see it Smile

OrangeBlossom2 · 21/03/2013 18:28

Crunchy we are having our kitchen done so for two weeks all I have had for dinner is takeaway or boxes of salad bits that I really don't fancy and just eat the bread and melon while DH eats the rest or we leave it rotting in the fridge. Such a waste of money and I am probably malnourished but hoping the pregnancy vitamin tablets are keeping the little bean happy for now. Can't wait to to have a proper cooked meal again!

OrangeBlossom2 · 21/03/2013 18:30

I see it! Thanks for putting it up. You can see the face quite clearly, lovely!
