Will this one take us through to the end of the first trimester? Will the sickness ever end? Will we be able to judge genders from those first scan pictures? These and many other mysteries to be solved in... THREAD 4

I spy a baby 34

TheFalconsmistress · 20/03/2013 12:47

Aww so cute 34 cant wait for mine on tuesday now so jealous of all these beautiful belly pics!!

Wickedgirl · 20/03/2013 13:35

It's all starting to get exciting now isn't it?

I have a scan on Friday (10+4). I can't wait to see my little person.

SeriousStuff · 20/03/2013 13:35

Thanks 34 and by the way, that's one cute baby scan!

I think I'll wait til my second one now before uploading mine. At the moment it's a big head with tiny feet!

34PinkLadyApple · 20/03/2013 13:39

ha ha serious, didn't stop me uploading my crap scan!

I've just update the STATS (sorry, don't know how to link it) thread with my new date... (technically should have got off this bus and got on the Sep one but I'm riding both at the moment Blush

Sephy · 20/03/2013 13:40

I'm just postin quickly as I keep accidentally going to the old thread - not had much to say as not much going on here yet! Still pretty symptomless, still stuffing my face all day as permanently hungry (leading to my first "oh, maybe you're pregnant" comment from a colleague yesterday!)

Appointment at the hospital on Saturday which I guess is the booking one - no detail in the letter though. Loving everyone else's scan news.

34PinkLadyApple · 20/03/2013 14:01

Just want to say to all those waiting for their scans, I'm sorry if I've chatted over excitedly about mine, I know how slow time goes waiting for it. Just be safe in the knowledge that when you are having yours and telling us all about your lovely little beans I will be having a very boring time of it waiting for my 20 week one and wishing I was you and actually seeing baby.

roofio87 · 20/03/2013 14:15

Aww no 34 we're all made up for you!! I'm loving the pic, just makes me more excited for mine!! we're all here to share every step with eachother!! Smile

Iheartcrunchiebars · 20/03/2013 14:17

No way 34 I love hearing about the scans!

Natalieand · 20/03/2013 14:24

On the way to next to have a browse for dd an I spy a scan pic :-) congrat 34 10 weeks today..... Who would have known time could ever pass so slowly? Lol and 34 to talk about your scan all you want at some point within the next few weeks we'll all be doing the same lol xxx

roxvox · 20/03/2013 14:29

I am having another one of my paranoid days. Symptoms are so minor (if even existent at all) and my scan is a week tomorrow. I am mentally freaking out about the chances of there being nothing in there, but can't talk to anyone about it because DH just tells me to calm down and that 'worrying won't do the baby any good' (which of course he is right about) and then changes the subject, and no one else knows about it.

Sorry, I shouldn't start stressing, I know it's ridiculous because there's nothing I can do anyway, but it's just there in my mind today, freaking me out.

Tarlia · 20/03/2013 14:53

P.Badger lovely to have another "extended" feeder around, it's one of those things that makes people slowly back away haha. It just sort of happened for us, before i had him I always thought I'd stop around 1, but it worked and he has been prone to and hospitalisted several times for pnumonia, which they have now just decided was asthmatic bronchitis probably all along.
You are feeding loads still, that's really fab! Are you waiting until he self weans? DS would also have milk morning noon and night if I allowed, but I'm selfish now.

serious booking in always comes before a scan, so to me it sounds like your dr has either got you mixed up with someone else, or thought your periods were too irregular to go from and put you up for a dating scan first. In my opinion after having a scan at 10 weeks it was fine to tell people, it will be as unlikely for anything to occur between 10-12 as it would 13-14 which is when most people will have gone public.

34 cute! We love hearing about yours and everyone else's scans. I'd def stay on this bus as best to be at the front rather than back of a bus once you've already hopped on one. I was at the back of my 2011 bus, but due to my PE gave birth near the front - you just never know what those unpredictable little ones will do! A friend due 2 weeks before me (in Jan) had hers 2 weeks after (in feb) which did not impress her at all!

TheFalconsmistress · 20/03/2013 14:55

rovox don't worry i have had no symptoms for weeks!! since about 9 weeks along! I am 12+4 today and I cant button up my jeans so convinced something is happening try not to worry it seems to be the norm at this stage.

Tarlia · 20/03/2013 15:01

roxvox you probably do have symptoms you arnt noticing, for example this morning as it'd been snowing so much I was tossing up whether to wash my hair or not, when I realised I'd skipped it yesterday too - my hair is a wash a day grease ball usually!
Last time at 10 weeks I went to the hairdressers and the he shrieked 'you're pregnant!!' 'errr yes [shocked] shhhh, how do you know!?!?' under my hair on hairline I had teeny tiny crazy Afro style tight 1 strand curls. OH says I don't this time.
Your skin may be drying or maybe there is something you love eating which is still sat in the fridge etc etc

It's so hard not to panic, but try not to until there is something to worry about. 1 week!! Holding your hand until then Brew

Tarlia · 20/03/2013 15:03

Oh and the hair was so unusual as I am 100% white. Without any chance in my genes of getting gorgeous afro hair.

roxvox · 20/03/2013 15:33

Thanks falconsmistress and tarlia. Now you mention it, my hair seems to be less greasy in between washes, and I have noticed 'baby hair' growing on my hairline, so maybe they are the signs I am overlooking!

Thank you, you have eased my mind. Roll on next Thursday Smile

When do you girls have your scans?

Flyer747 · 20/03/2013 15:46

Does anyone had a sore lower back? Mine has been a tad uncomfortable for a few days now, and I had it earlier on at about 5 weeks or so...

Also this might be TMI and cannot believe I'm gonna write this however, does anyone suffer from piles? I have for years, but today when I wiped there was blood, (not sure if its the piles or not) I think it probably is, but wanted to ask if anyone else has this lovely problem I have!!! Just in DR's waiting room, huge queue so I think I will be here ages, cannot wait to get my bum out for the DR, I hope it's one of the female doctors I end up seeing....

34PinkLadyApple · 20/03/2013 16:11

On the symptom thing... at 13 weeks, I barely feel any different! Never been or felt sick, not massively tired etiher (I considered these the top symptoms before I got my BFP!). Now Ive had scan and know everything is alright I've been thinking... I've had sore boobs which grew 2 cup sizes by week 9 then stopped hurting and growing (major worry time). I've got very veiny skin EVERYWHERE, not just boobs. I look like a London underground map! If I stretch the skin on my hips near my tummy, I can see all the veins running towards my womb. I've also been constipated. Don't worry rox, everyone is different, you'll feel thankful and little smug about your lack of bad symptoms once you've had your scan. Blush

34PinkLadyApple · 20/03/2013 16:14

flyer I had bleedy bum a bit a few weeks ago but it was caused by rather a large hard poo I pushed out (WAAAAY TMI)! BlushBlushBlushBlushBlushBlushBlushBlushBlushBlush

Flyer747 · 20/03/2013 16:17

Haha 34 that made me chuckle :-)

Tarlia · 20/03/2013 16:53

Hahaha 34 delightful! Made me have a good giggle :D

Flyer I've got really bad lower back/top of bum pain which today is also around the front. I think it's my dreaded SPD returning from last time.

rox there you go, there are always these really obscure things nobody mentions. It's lovely to have less greasy hair. My scan isn't until the 3rd, so two weeks today! I'll be 13+ 3

racheld33 · 20/03/2013 16:59

Hi all, just a quick message to say had my first scan this afternoon (12 weeks), one lovely wriggling baby inside, looking great! Then had my booking appt after that as not yet had it, they've put my date forward, so now due 27/9/13!

Haylebop12 · 20/03/2013 17:18

My gosh you ladies can chat!

Just on my break at work taking things easy, keep nipping off to snack Blush I've had a risk assessment done and he asked when I'm likely to be going off on maternity?? He really doesn't need that info yet as I don't get my matb1 form until mw appt at 24 weeks (I think) anyway he's put it for 4 weeks before in due although I think I'd like to finish the beginning of September as dd starts reception.

Congrats on all the scans.

34 your scan pic is lovely. The one I had done Monday at 10+1 looks like its gotta a quiff and a nose like Pinocchio! (It's hand really)

Sal1977 · 20/03/2013 17:33

Hi Flyer, I have a back ache at the moment. I also get really really stiff if I'm sitting for too long. Also if I'm walking for more than about 15 minutes my lower back grumbles .

TMI alert......right, who has increased errr shall we say.... Mucus? Hehe

Umlauf · 20/03/2013 17:37

Yeo flyer and sal my back is really bad, lower central back area. Today is the third occasion when I haven't been able to walk as my legs just gave way underneath me. I'm going to bring it up with my gynae next week as I don't think it should be this bad and I'm worried it might affect the birth. I have had scoliosis though so I'm sure yours won't. My mum had lower back pain with me too.

Loving all the scan news and so excited about mine! Only a day and a half to go now, its flown by even though the waiting seems never ending, if that makes sense?!
