Oh dear Maw. Hope you get back to sleep. The reason i'm awake at 4am is entirely self inflicted and deserves no sympathy. I had a takeaway curry despite knowing i would suffer with indigestion through the night. Damn it was tasty though!

Dillydollydaydream · 20/03/2013 04:25

Wide awake here! Keep waking up in the middle of the night for an hour or 2 and can't get back to sleep. I went to bed at 11 so not ridiculously early. Going to be shattered tomorrow!
Hope you get done sleep soon.

Mawgatron · 20/03/2013 06:05

Did get about 3 hours. Got up at 5 as I couldn't be bothered to lay in bed awake anymore. Came downstairs and showered, decided not to go to work. Sat on sofa...oh good. There is cat sick on the sofa that my freshly washed arse sat it. Brilliant!

Olimoss · 20/03/2013 09:21

Insomnia for us all last night then? How nice...

redwellybluewelly · 20/03/2013 09:23

No insomia for me but I had a very busy (and stressful) day - posted in Childbirth for anyone who wants the gory details of my ongoing shit care from the NHS

Coffee anyone?!

pinkbear82 · 20/03/2013 10:13

Brew And match sticks for all. Don't worry ladies 'it's just preparing you for when baby arrives' ARGH Confused if one more person says that to me! including my own mum, did you find that saying helpful mum?! No well shush!

After forcing myself to do housework and nasty washing (tumble dryer busy, airer hanging an ld putting away is soooo boring) I am now sorting my toe nails out. A nice pretty fresh colour I think. Even if I don't feel it my toes will look it.

LexiLexi · 20/03/2013 10:39

have just read your other post, redwelly. That is an awful situation; it sounds to me like someone in the consultant's office is trying to cover up their incompetence (not passing on messages, etc.). I'm not au fait with the NHS but I'm sure that there are others on here that will be able to provide some suggestions as to the best course of action. In the meantime, hope that you are getting the support you need, unMNet hug Brew Biscuit

learnermummy · 20/03/2013 12:38

No insomnia here, but unusually both kids were up in the night! That hasn't happened in years, they're such good sleepers.

How about this for front sleeping - www.holo-lilo.com

MrsBri · 20/03/2013 13:05

Not exactly insomnia, but Baby B doing the Riverdance for about 90 minutes Leo me awake til gone 1am :-/ Luckily I'm working from home today, so I got to stay in bed til 7.30am, which was bloody lovely!

Sorry about the problems you're having, redwelly. I hope it gets sorted soon.

AlohaMama · 20/03/2013 15:42

Just read your post redwelly and i'm sorry you are having such a struggle with your hospital. Sorry no helpful advice as I don't know the system but I really hope you manage to get the support you need and someone to fight your corner.

suzyrut · 20/03/2013 16:20

Hi All,

Have the 4 am wake up call too, don't know if it's because baby is awake or she wakes up because I am but 5.30 is my normal get back to sleep time, will know to check mn from now instead of just lying there thinking about all the things I haven't done! I have read that the waking/sleeping patterns that baby develops now are similar to what we'll get when they arrive...yikes.

Sorry you're having such a tough time redwelly. As an alternative to trying to speak to the consultant over the phone can you make an appointment to see him without going through his secretary? I arrange appointments with my consultant through the regular ante-natal booking team in the maternity unit and eventhough I have spoken to his PA in the past she didn't seem to manage his diary beyond which hospital he'd be at on that particular day. Failing that and as a last resort could you find out what day his clinic runs and camp out until you've seen him, I appreciate in your circumstances that may be very hard?

Good luck xxx

MrsBri · 20/03/2013 17:21

I swear this baby us trying to escape through my belly, ala Alien :-/

The amount of shoving that goes on, and what feels like dragging of knuckles on the inside of my uterus, is unreal! I've find from not seeing movement to baby almost never being still in the space of a couple of days!

If it wasn't for the scan, I'd assume I was having an octopus!

pinkbear82 · 20/03/2013 17:28

Lol Mrsbri - you've got a wriggler!!

I was listening to some music earlier and every time a song by the script came on there was loads of movement! Not quite sure what to make of that.

Does anyone else find that their maternity bras come above every top? Just the lace bit on the top of the cups. I can't say my clothes are so low cut everything hangs out, but on most I get bra popping above - even if I put a vest top on underneath. Can't wait till it starts warming up if I'm getting issues with non summery clothes now!!

MrsBri · 20/03/2013 17:34

My bras are so MAHOOSIVE they show under everything! :-/

Baby B doesn't always respond to music...got me worried he's deaf. DH told me not to be daft!

Pink, it does make you wonder if they love or hate it, doesn't it?!

Olimoss · 20/03/2013 18:02

We are flying to Rome on Sunday and the airline has asked for a doctor's letter to say nomprobs with pregnancy (even tho will only be just 30 weeks....) - GP will charge me £20 for it - cheek!

Redwelly - that really sucks. My dad is a Dr and he's be pissed if he found out his messages weren't getting passed on. Def try to see yours face to face, that's the best way.

pinkapples · 20/03/2013 18:28

Home after a busy day sorry your having a rough time of it red and definitely sounds like you have a wringer in there mrs bri

Baby comes and goes these days but not a day goes by that I don't feel her which is nice as it took so long to start with Grin downloaded my baby's beat on the iPhone (against my best judgement) but underneath my own gurgling you can defo hear baby which is nice and at my last appointment the mw let me record it which was lovely...

Very excited about my scan on the 2nd April woohoo can't contain myself im so excited GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinwill possibly see babies face if she cooperates Grin

Did anyone else decide on another can before baby comes

pinkapples · 20/03/2013 18:28

Sorry mrsbri I meant wriggler

learnermummy · 20/03/2013 18:42

Oli - can your midwife not do you a letter for free? I did that last pregnancy.

As for bras, you need Anita underwired maternity - feel and look just like normal bras, shame so expensive as I really need new ones now!

pinapples I'm really tempted to book another scan, will probably ring babybond next week...

MrsBri · 20/03/2013 18:46

Pinkapples, we are holding off getting another scan. Going to be patient for the first time ever, ha ha. :-)

Learner, you're not meant to wear underwired bras in pregnancy. Have those be specially developed somehow?

And that's steep, Oli. Definitely ask your midwife.

grainmum · 20/03/2013 18:56

Which airline oli? (panics about easyjet flight to Paris Friday even though website says it's ok)

AlohaMama · 20/03/2013 18:57

MrsBri last pregnancy I heard no underwired but then when I re-checked advice this time I read that there wasn't any proven link between wiring and problems with milk production, which I think was the concern. I think it's just what is more comfortable, and making sure it fits properly. I still wear wired bras, and a couple non-wired. Mind you they still feel mahoosive. Wait till you try and get nice nursing bras!! Top tip for nursing bras though - soft (non-wired) strapless boob tube/bras are great and cheap!

Have fun in Rome Oli!

SunnyL · 20/03/2013 19:10

Mini rant. I'm back at work after 10 days away. I'm prepping for a workshop I'm facilitating on Friday. So far today I've written 4 presentations, edited a further 3, written 2 handouts, sorted the logistics, printed out all the necessary materials. On top of that I've also done some project management for a further 2 contracts I hold.

My colleague who came in today to help me has written 2 presentations and 1 handout in the same time.

And they say I've got baby brain and am functioning slower than normal!!!! Flippin heck they're lucky to have me here!

SunnyL · 20/03/2013 19:10

p.s.

MrsBri - somehow my babs has smuggled a cork screw in there and occasionally picks it up for a bit of digging. It feels marvelous Hmm

AlohaMama · 20/03/2013 19:15

Blimey sunny you're a lot more productive than me. I just sit here thinking about leaving and surfing mnet and wishing I didn't have to do all the things on my to do list!!

Olimoss · 20/03/2013 19:24

Alitalia which is why it's probably confusing. They say medical thingy obligatory if twins/7 days before or after birth, etc, but also say kind of that it's best to have the letter. Midwife will have all her spots booked up already for this week.

Maybe I should just go without, cover bump with jacket and scarf till I board the plane!
