thinking of you pinkbear Flowers

forgetmenots · 18/03/2013 14:43

Good luck pinkbear - thinking of you Thanks

pinkbear82 · 18/03/2013 15:06

Well, good news of sorts. Today is done, DP has to go back at the end of April for sentencing. Have yet to talk to him properly to find out all the details. 3 were late this morning which meant a 3 hour delay for them, which must have been agony.
So not all done and dusted, but gives us a bit longer to hopefully feel a bit more prepared.

Thank you all once again for being so lovely.

Tell you what, the house hasn't been so clean since we moved in in November! Even the dog has been bathed and his bedding washed - only the cats have escaped a good cleaning.

Thank u again. x

pinkapples · 18/03/2013 16:40

Pinkbear glad that today kind of went your way :-)

Sorry for your loss Sad

I am feeling absolutely knackered tonight needed a Brew all day but not managed to make it yet work is absolutely manic!

CollectorofCookbooks · 18/03/2013 17:36

Sorry for your loss Sparkle. And pleased that you're feeling a bit happier Pinkbear, hopefully it'll be good news in April.

28 week scan showed all well, both babies are identical in measurement and weight - 1.1kg each! All on now to hit the magic 32 week mark. Am a bit crampy today but that could well be indigestion and my SPD seems to be getting worse, but as long as they're ok that's the main thing.

And with a roll of drums I can announce that HR have apologised!! I sent an email last night querying the policy and they have agreed yes, I (ie YOU) are right and I shouldn't be put on maternity pay til 36 weeks.

So a big big thank you xx

MrsBri · 18/03/2013 17:52

Pinkbear, glad your DP came back today...shame it couldn't all be sorted today though. Fingers crossed for April.

Were the pleas in mitigation done today, or will it be part of a pre-sentencing report? In other words, when does the deciding Judge get to know about baby?

Glad that worked out, Collector :-) Good to have a little win!

Baby B has been entertaining the workforce today with his moving round so people can see! Extrovert already :-)

pinkbear82 · 18/03/2013 20:31

MrsBri - he says it was pre-sentencing today, but I do believe mitigating pleas have also been put in. Luckily the main culprit admitted today he was the ringleader (5 involved altogether) so hopefully that is also a good thing.

Apparently he has to do a probation report now too. So hopefully that'll all help with baby and things too.

In other shocking news, I'd been so tense I hadn't really paid much attention to eating, frosties were simple easy and tasty..... I then tonight very naughtily fancied a big tasty from macy d's - they have stopped doing them Shock I asked what a pregnant woman was to do if that's what she really fancied..... The worker just looked confused. That'll teach me for wanting rubbish food!!!

MrsBri · 18/03/2013 20:36

I hope his Barrister did an excellent plea for him. And fingers crossed re the main culprit admitting the same...not sure how that works for joint enterprise though. I hope it is in your favour :-)

And that is very cruel and inconsiderate of McDonald's! Poor you!

SunnyL · 18/03/2013 20:45

Hi all. Had. Busy busy weekend with a road trip from Edinburgh to Cambridge via PIL in Durham. Used a friends child's christening as an excuse to catch up with lots of different friends and family over the long weekend. As a bonus my SIL had left a tonne of baby stuff at my in-laws for us including loads of clothes, toys and a Moses basket.

Unfortunately Moses basket has now been bagsied and baby may find it a tight squeeze. The cat has decided this is his new bed and is looking ever so comfy curled up in the Moses basket. Not to worry - he did the same with our dogs bed until the puppy showed up and the cat decided he would rather live in the wardrobe than put up with the noise and irritation of a puppy. I imagine it will be no different when baby arrives.

LexiLexi · 19/03/2013 08:28

Morning everybody! Have been reading but not posting for a while as it's been pretty hectic here. We have accepted an offer on our house, so all being well will be moving into our derelict delightful little cottage in the countryside in early May. Timing is less than ideal, but figure it'll be better to be settled beforehand, rather than attempting to move with a newborn and we'll be in more of a position to get things done being on site.

maisie, I think you asked about mattresses for Stokki. We ended up getting one from Littlegreensheep, which redwelly recommended. Worth looking around to see if you can find a discount voucher before buying - we got one off their facebook page.

Collector so pleased that your twins are doing well, it must have been lovely to see them on the scan- were they playing nicely? Pinkbear, glad that you and DP have some more time together before baby arrives, keeping everything crossed for you.

Off to see the Midwife today, without, I hasten to add, my 'recycled' pee pot. Bit concerned about my iron levels as I've been having so many nose bleeds and starting to look a bit pasty. Hope everybody has a good Tuesday.

Olimoss · 19/03/2013 15:07

Hi everyone, I have a quick question - I keep waking up on my back, when sleeping. It's by far and away the most comfortable position for me (I am chocked up on both sides by a V pillow so not lying flat-out, if that makes sense, but still basically on my back, albeit with a very slight tilt left or right) but I know that general advice to try and avoid it.

I'm not experiencing any dizziness or pins and needles or anything - do you think that my body would let me know if it wasn't ok? As I understand it lying on your back doesn't compromise the baby as such, it just might compress a big vein and a nerve (hence pins and needles and dizziness symptoms)....

Not sure what to do!

SunnyL · 19/03/2013 16:03

Olimoss I've been waking up on my back too. So far no issues - the human body is a magical thing and will probably tell you if there is an issue.

An update on the naked baby situation. After some amazing donations of baby stuff from my sister and my SIL my baby has 50 vests and 26 sleep suits just for the first 3 months!! DH wanted to know if that meant we wouldn't have to do any washing for the first month.

On a slightly more rubbish note I have been advised to get a prescription for compression tights as my varicose veins are seriously gross. Midwife also suggested I try to cry when I see the GP as they may recommend I get them stripped out. Challenge is I'm really not a cryer - do I try to watch Marley and Me surreptitiously on my phone before going in??

Citybaby · 19/03/2013 16:26

Hello, Hoping to join too if that is ok with you ladies? I'm 28 weeks + 6 days and feel huge! Also I finally seem to have hit the emotional stage, almost cried when an old man smiled at me this morning and offered me his seat on the tube! Tears of happiness though don't worry! xxx

learnermummy · 19/03/2013 16:33

Welcome Citybaby Smile. I burst into tears yesterday afternoon watching a dog being rescued on the tv Hmm. Par for the course I think!

Citybaby · 19/03/2013 16:40

Thank you learnermummy, glad it's not just me! The man looked at me like I was mad, oops! xx

pinkbear82 · 19/03/2013 16:53

Welcome citybaby :) it's amazing what can trigger waterworks once hormones are involved!

Oli I too seem to spend a lot if time in a propped up on back position - and also asleep on the right had side! I figure if we can still find a comfy position for now then sticking with it is good. I'm am a major fidget so don't stay any particular way for that long anyways.

pinkbear82 · 19/03/2013 16:57

Ooo and sunny - good work on the non naked baby! It may not mean no washing but should at least mean it takes some pressure off of recycling one outfit Wink
So far I think I can dress baby for 3 days a week - as long as there are no accidents.
My friend laughed at me the other day when we were talking and I said I should really buy some nappies. She looked and said dont they need more than nappies?! I concluded it was a good move to try and contain as much s**t as possible..... We then concluded a giant life size nappy may also come in hand on that basis too Grin

Oh and sunny maybe the threat of
Crying will be enough for ur GP... Or say you got really upset with the midwife. Failing that onions in your bag for back up Wink

Olimoss · 19/03/2013 17:30

Thanks everyone!

Sunny - a nice bit of Vicks Vaporub under your eyes will have you bawling in no time!

Hawkmoth · 19/03/2013 18:07

Olimoss, don't worry too much. I also keep ending up on my back and it clearly doesn't suit as it makes me feel absolutely bloody awful, dizzy and sick. Plus baby doesn't like it much and goes bonkers. This did not happen with my other two!

Wish I had to try to cry in front of GP, think I much prefer being together and darkly humorous in my dealings with healthcare professionals!

pinkapples · 19/03/2013 18:26

I thought about that too oli as I quite often wake up on my back but no pain as yet and like others have said I'm sure our bodies and babies would tell us if there was a problem hehe

curiousgeorgie · 19/03/2013 18:31

I think it's fine unless it makes you light headed / is painful...

I'm still trying to sleep on my front but with one knee up to tilt my body and accommodate my bump... But I think that's over and it's time for uncomfortable side sleep! I'm dreading the last few weeks when sleep just doesn't happen... I somehow forgot about that till now!

MrsBri · 19/03/2013 19:39

Wow, georgie...front sleeping?! I'd never be able to do that as I'm very bumpy. I'd need a hole in the bed!

I do.sometimes wake on my back briefly. Very odd as I never sleep on my back normally! I do it deliberately if I've not felt baby for a while as it drives him crazy!

I think as long as you feel OK it won't be doing any harm. :-)

Well done Sunny on the clothing! Much more than I have now.

And good luck with the move, Lexi.

Also, agree re the shit, pink. :-)

Sarah2506 · 19/03/2013 19:52

Evening all! Office move all over and done and have nice window seat on 10th floor overlooking central London. People already talking about who gets my desk when I leave! Bloody exhausting though, kind of like starting a new job whilst having the deadlines from the old.

Had the most amazing midwife appointment today. Last time I went I got this simpering idiot who ended every sentence with a giggle. This one had funky clothes and tattoos. She was happy to chat about everything. You remember I had some issue with whether my sleeping pills were ok or not? She just said everything perfectly ok, you do what you need to, too many women beating themselves up about this and that when its all perfectly fine. She said GPs know nothing and we should listen to her:-) then we had a good listen to the heart and I measured bang on. All very positive. She was also very honest about the hospital and managed my expectations well! Why can't they all be like that?!?

Mawgatron · 20/03/2013 00:57

Hi all. I'm still awake at 5 to 1, feeling very sorry for myself. Horribly blocked up and sinus pain. Very sulky. Watching scum on the telly, it's well depressing. Grrrrrrr. Roll on getting up for work at 5.45....
