Back from my 4d scanSmile. Lovely to see her again but she did have hands and feet in front of her face most of the time! Weighing in at 2 lb 14 oz apparently. All good. Kids enjoyed it too. Only downer is me and DS2 both running a temperature Hmm.

pinkbear82 · 30/03/2013 19:01

hope everyone starts to feel better soon!

SunnyL · 30/03/2013 19:04

Has anyone filled out their birth plan yet? I got reminded by my midwife last time I saw her but havent done anything about it yet. Was thinking of waiting until i'd done the antenatal classes so I might be in a more informed position - not entirely sure watching One Born Every Minute means I know sufficient to write it.

pinkapples · 30/03/2013 20:12

Awww learner bet it was lovely Grin got mine on Tuesday

pains gone now which is nice just generally achey and tired feeling sick tho still so will be nice to see her on Tuesday Grin

Baby brain has hit to as I have just realised today that I have booked 2 whooping cough jabs one on Wednesday and one the following week what a muppet will be cancelling one of those next week as well

learnermummy · 30/03/2013 21:19

No birth plan yet here Sunny although don't want to do that until they ok my home birth. Don't see how you could do it before antenatal classes though. I did buy some muslins today though!
Don't think you need 2 whooping cough jabs pink .

pinkapples · 30/03/2013 21:22

No I don't think so either not sure why I booked a second obviously was having a moment Grin

Sarah2506 · 30/03/2013 21:31

Does anyone else just occasionally hate being pregnant? We are in a B and B. the bed is small and DH has cold and is snoring a lot. I got 2 hours sleep. All my friends went out walking with DH and I did not much, though couldn't sleep. Dinner was booked for 830. I was sick with tired and hunger and got there to discover we were sat on table with loads of randoms in hot, noisy room. I asked for my food early, ate it quickly, burst into tears at table and am now back at B and B on own, lonely, exhausted and wishing I hadn't bothered coming to the Lakes at all. I've barely seen DH, I haven't seen my friends at all and really wanted to at dinner. I just feel so out of it and like life is horrible - I know it's not. And I despair of the thought of another sleepless night listening to him snoring before more of the same tomorrow. Want to go home to my own bed, with DH in spare bed and me with Snowy my soft toy reindeer friend. I am SO pathetic right now. Sad

peardrop2 · 30/03/2013 21:43

Hi ladies, just popping by to tell you about my pyjama bargain as a few of you have been asking about pjs! Today I went to Primemark and brought a pair of white lounge wear pyjamas with navy spots on in size 14-16 (I was Primemark size 12-14 before pregnancy). The elastic is really thin and soft so it doesn't dig in at all. The best bit is the matching top in navy or white has buttons so it will be perfect for nursing! They feel really soft. Top was £3 and bottoms were £6! I'm going to go back and buy more in a few weeks. I also brought some of the £1 pants size 16-18 but now wish I'd gone for the size 18-20 as 16-18 only just fits :-(

Lastly, I brought a couple of lovely nursing bras from M&S. I find if you book a nursing bra appt first they're really helpful and have a lot of choice.

Sorry for the long post ;-) Just wanted to share as I resent paying £25 for maternity pyjamas!

peardrop2 · 30/03/2013 21:46

Now I need help...does anyone own a bugaboo Cameleon? If yes, what do you lie baby on in the carry cot part? Are you meant to buy a liner or can you lie baby straight on the thin mattress? I brought a liner but now realise its for when baby is sitting in the upright position!

learnermummy · 30/03/2013 22:04

Oh Sarah big hugs sounds like a horrid time Hmm. It is hard when you're the only pregnant one amongst childless friends. Can you get yourself to that spa tomorrow? And find some ear plugs? Hope you don't have to spend another day on your own. Weather doesn't help either does it?

AmIGoingMad · 30/03/2013 23:01

Aw poor you Sarah- sounds awful! If you're anything like me you're probably emotional enough at the best of times at the moment, let alone with the added lack of sleep! I hope you have a better night tonight and that everything feels better in the morning.

Learner- such a lovely thing for you all to have seen baby! I'm getting worried that I should book a scan as I keep thinking 'what if they got it wrong and I'm preparing for a girl but we have a boy?!'. This isn't helped as I was talking to someone today who said her mum was told she was having a boy and then out SHE came! Granted that was many years ago but still!!!

I hope everyone who's feeling rough feels better soon!

RueDeWakening · 30/03/2013 23:01

Peardrop - I don't have a Bugaboo, but with the carrycot on our old double pram I used a moses basket mattress with sheet to lie LO on. Although I could have put them straight on the carrycot mattress. You'll probably need a sheet or a folded muslin covering it though, babies are mucky :o

I'll have a look for Primark PJs, thanks.

Sunny - not even thought about birth plans, doubt I'll bother this time as DH & I know the ropes well enough to ask for what we want and I don't think anything has changed since last time.

Sarah - sounds like a horrible day, I hope you get some sleep tonight and tomorrow is better. Sounds like your DH needs a smack upside the head though, his job for the foreseeable future is to pander to you and your every whim - do we need to whip up a posse and send them round? :o

learnermummy · 30/03/2013 23:37

AmI that's partly why I booked another scan! Wanted to be sure it's a she!!

MrsBri · 31/03/2013 02:13

Sorry to everyone feeling rough still, and I hope you feel better tomorrow, Sarah. I'd be bloody miserable in that situation too.

Great news about the scan, learner :-) I'm still quite enjoying not knowing the sex of Baby B, it has to be said.

Sunny, I've not done a birth plan yet, but am planning to soon. One of my weekly emails had one I can download and complete, so I'll use that.

Baby B has been utterly manic tonight. Really quite painful with his kicking, shoving and moving. God knows what position he's ended up in, but he's still rummaging. Hope he stops soon so I can sleep.

SunnyL · 31/03/2013 04:31

Awww Sarah. Hope you get some sleep. I had a similar couple of nights last week when we were at the inlaws who only have a small double bed and DH had stayed up drinking whisky so his breath stunk and he was snoring. I took pleasure in kicking the bugger a few times [bugrin].

Hopefully your melt down at dinner will have been noticed and some members of your group will hang back with you tomorrow and do the slow pregnant lady thing.

SunnyL · 31/03/2013 04:38

P.s. Im getting a Bugaboo chameleon but not a scooby what the answer to your Q is. Now faintly worried too!

Meant to be going for a big family lunch at my parents today bht they have blocked drains so we may have to go to my sisters and eat roast lamb picnic style on our lapss. Unfortunately if that happens i just know my mum and dad will have fallen out again and will be sniping at one another. sigh happy families.

pinkbear82 · 31/03/2013 13:50

Just a quickie - m&s have a 20% off Easter event. Pjs included and they do have some over the bump dark bottoms in the maternity section. No idea what they are like but thought I'd say!

redwellybluewelly · 31/03/2013 14:31

Thanks pinkbear we're taking it so easy today we've all just settled down for an afternoon nap together after not getting up till half ten.

Bliss.

Olimoss · 31/03/2013 17:24

Buongiorno everyone!

Back from Rome where I walked an average of 5km a day (not bad considering I'm heavily in foal and one knee is so busted that were I horse I'd have been put down by now!) on the cobbles, so pleased with that. Obviously massively carbo-loaded on pasta and gelato so it evened out.

I would recommend, though, if you are doing a final break before the baby comes, to maybe do something a bit more restful. Am absolutely knackered and look it.....hmmmm.

Sarah - totally understand what you're saying, I'm over it! All the walking I did brought on fairly unstinting Braxton Hicks the whole time, and it just got painful and boring. And today I tried to take off my wellies after walking the dog and couldn't bend down to get them off, nor then put on my shoes, and I fantasised about having a massive tanty.

Hope everyone else is feeling ok - I have had to succumb and am wearing the officially Massive Underpants - tried wearing smaller (boyleg, my faves) ones last night but so uncomfortable. Good PJ tips, I've been trying to find those old-man style ones with unelasticated by with tie-waist ones - anyone know what I mean? My great-grandad used to wear them....

We are having a wellbeing scan on 11 April at the Foetal Medical centre - I want reassurance that baby's measurements are ok after last scans shows 50th centile for everything except for the abdomen, which was measuring at 95th. And to check he's still got a massive pair of balls, and not the other!

Sorry for long post, took so long to read the updates since I've been gone my head is spinning!

AmIGoingMad · 31/03/2013 19:43

Sunny I hope everything worked out for your family meal! Families are complex things aren't they?!

Oli Rome sounds like it was fab! I've been once on a one day whistlestop tour and it was fab but tiring!

Hope you've had a better day today Sarah?

I'm currently sat outside DS room trying to get him to go to sleep. We've had a nice relaxing day with lunch with in laws. Hoping to even watch a film tonight dare I say it!Smile

SunnyL · 31/03/2013 20:09

AmI - clearly when the man from Scottish Water came round not only did he unblock the sewer he also dropped something in my parents tea because they were on immaculate behaviour. It's like they were replaced by someone else. In fact even my brother wasn't an arse and he is ALWAYS an arse!

AlohaMama · 01/04/2013 01:02

Happy Easter everyone. [busmile]

Thanks for the advice on getaways oli - we're going away tomorrow (to the Big Island aka Hawai'i) and current plan involves ascending (in car) to summit of mountain at 14,000 ft (cue altitude sickness), snorkelling, hiking around volcano, and lots of beach visits, all with another family and 4 kids in total. Relaxing???? I don't think so...Anyway we'll see how we get on.

Yay to big pants by the way. Just another aspect of the glamour of pregnancy!

Right, off to enjoy a well earned half hour on the sofa before ds wakes up, then easter egg hunts in the garden and BBQ. Bye all.

Littlemissexpecting · 01/04/2013 05:32

Hi everyone.
Just catching up been a busy weekend with friends and family staying, they go home today so back to normality soon.
Pinkbear thanks for heads up on m&s I've ordered. Some pjs and a couple of nighties to try.
I've given up on trying to sleep had a rubbish night so I'm up with a cuppa tea (and a flapjack!).

AmIGoingMad · 01/04/2013 08:21

Sounds like everyone's having a nice bank holiday weekend!

I'm glad your family pleasantly surprised you sunny Grin

We've had quite a sleep deprived night but I'm in denial and looking forward to a family day out on a steam train for DS! Hopefully I won't crash into a wall of tiredness until this afternoon!

forgetmenots · 01/04/2013 09:58

Hi everyone - cant believe how quickly the time is going in, I'm 30 weeks and it feels like the home stretch now!

The over the bump PJ suggestions are great, thanks so much. Need to start thinking about hospital bag soon (nighties, nursing bras etc! Argh!) and I really would love a comfy pair of pyjamas.

I can see baby moving really clearly now (have felt it for a while of course but with anterior placenta wasn't seeing it!) - this week has been quite an active one, and I love seeing DH's face when there's a big kick or turn! :)
