I don't know what that is Maisie. I hope you get a solution for it soon though.

Feeling ok about work today...helped by only having a 3 day week for the next 2 weeks :-) Makes things feel loads better. Though my workload may be hideous when I get back, but as I'll be starting my work handover, then maybe not. We shall see!

28 week midwife appt today, so I get to leave work early too. Even better!

Hope everyone is OK today.

Littlemissexpecting · 25/03/2013 07:48

Morning all. Maisie I don't think you get back pain with heartburn but I've not had it yet so not sure. Maybe give your mw a call later?
3 day week for me too which I'm so glad about. I really am ready to finish now.
Anyone still got snow? I'm working from home as not driving in this.

ChicaT · 25/03/2013 14:01

Hi Maisiebeem, I'm typing from bed today as the pain's so bad! Last night i had excruciating indigestion/trapped wind (that'll be the last baked beans i have for a while then!) and today i have what i think is ligament pain but my God it hurts when i move or stand up. I don't think there's any point in going to the maternity ward to have it checked out - i reckon as i don't have a fever or bleeding and baby is kicking away they'll probably come to the same conclusion - that it's ligament pain. Also the half hour car journey to get there sounds like a bit much when I feel so rotten. If it still persists tonight/tomorrow I'll go. I also have a cold so feel very disinclined to go anywhere!

ChicaT · 25/03/2013 14:04

PS also I'm pretty sure this pain isn't from contractions, and I have some back pain too - pain from your front can often translate to pain in your back. But if you are the slightest bit worried, get yourself to your maternity ward and have it looked into.

Sunbeam18 · 25/03/2013 14:44

Chica, do you have SPD? Sounds similar to my pelvic pain - hard to move sometimes.

Knomski · 25/03/2013 15:00

Hi all, I'm due June 29th with my 3rd dc. Would love to join your thread and hear your experiences.... Also to have a place to moan about pregnancy gripes! :)

LouGlasgow · 25/03/2013 15:25

Hi All, Another late joiner! Due 23rd June. First pregnancy but have a 2 3/4 year old DS already (DP gave birth to DS). We're expecting a girl this time :) Just had a 3D/4D scan at weekend - truly magical! Watched it over so many times. She was folded up with feet up at her face trying to lick her shins lol and suck her hands. So lovely to see whats going on inside there. Had stressful 1st trimester with a lot of bleeding, relaxed 2nd trimester and now beginning to feel more and more pregnant as I hit the 3rd. Lots of lovely bloating, gass, heartburn, leg cramps etc. Great reading everyone else's stories on here knowing I'm in good company!! Loving it all tho and can't wait to meet our gorgeous wee girl!!

LouGlasgow · 25/03/2013 16:06

Ps skimmed the posts and noticed Gina was asking for tips with spotty skin. Despite nearly being 33 I still get plagued by acne and normally take antibiotics to keep my skin at bay. I gave them up as soon as we started trying and now swear by bare minerals blemish remedy - put a dusting on my oily spot prone zones every morning and if I get a spot I put extra on before bed. My skin has never been better. I also use bare minerals deep cleansing foam which I think really helps with my skin too. Been worth the outlay too as the cleansing foam lasts about 9 months and the powder 4 months :) So glad I discovered them - hope they might be helpful for you too :D

pinkbear82 · 25/03/2013 17:24

Welcome ladies! All the more tips and stories to share Smile

I have had a real can not be arsed day. I really have not done much. Gearing myself up to do a water change on fish tank as DSD decided putting half a pot of food in was helpful - was surprised they survived the night to be honest.

Hope everyone else has had an ok Monday!

suzyrut · 25/03/2013 17:35

Hi everyone hope you're all ok. I've not checked in for a while as I've been in hospital with my blood pressure. Long story short I've been put on tablets and signed off work until i start maternity leave which i'll take from 36 weeks if i'm not induced earlier. can't quite get my head around the fact that I won't be going back till 2014! Tablets are making me feel very sleepy and a bit odd but quite a relief to know everything's back under control and to get out hospital, made me go a bit stir crazy but was a good practice run out for my hospital bag!

Hope the third trimester's treating everyone kindly xxxx

Littlemissexpecting · 25/03/2013 18:39

Welcome newbies!
Sorry to hear you have not been well Suzie but at least it's being treated. Fingers crossed bambino stays put for a few more weeks yet.

MrsBri · 25/03/2013 19:04

Hello to the newbies :-)

And I'm glad you're feeling better and you're back at home, Suzy. It must have been stressful for you. Here's hoping baby stays put for a good while longer.

I had my 28 week appt today. A bit early due to the bank holiday, but never mind.

DH came along as he was going to pick me up anyway, so I asked him to join me so he could hear the heartbeat again :-) He actually knew the midwife, which is more than I did!

Baby is sitting on the right, as I knew, and bump is measuring a week or so ahead, which isn't bad, considering my size!

Quite straight forward again, really.

So glad I'm having a break from work over Easter as my lazy, shit, colleagues are doing my head in. Why do something properly when you can do a half-arsed job of it?! :-/

Littlemiss, no snow here now. It's all gone! The up side of being on the west coast.

Had to buy some cute deerstalker hats from John Lewis today, 5 quid each in the sale. Had to buy for both sexes though as we are team yellow! Sure we will find someone to donate to once we find out :-)

pinkapples · 25/03/2013 19:38

My sister is throwing me a baby shower on the 12th April and the games came today through the post woohoo! So tempted to look up the answers but I won't Grin

Well don't on the buys at John Lewis we don't have one of those near us

Sunbeam18 · 25/03/2013 21:11

Hope you are feeling better, Suzy. That sounds like an awful experience.
We finally managed to order our pram and car seat today - had been trying to order last week and the one I wanted looked to have been discontinued. Panic as had set my heart on it! Found some stock online at Kiddie Kingdom today - yay. It's a Jane Slalom Reverse.
How many clothes are you all buying for your babies before the birth? How many newborn vests, suits, cardies; and how many 0-3 months? I have no idea, but don't have much yet. Xxx

MrsBri · 25/03/2013 21:30

Well done on getting the pram, Sunbeam :-)

I'm getting 7 or 8 vests / sleepsuits etc, I think. I'm sure we will have stuff bought for us once baby is here, so don't want to go overboard!

pinkapples · 25/03/2013 21:34

I haven't bought much sunbeam like mrsbri said maybe 7/8 suits although hard to know with the weather what's best at this rate may need a snowsuit Grin

Glad you managed to get what you wanted in terms of shopping as well sunbeam GrinGrin

Mawgatron · 25/03/2013 21:39

Hi all, and welcome new ladies!
3days to go until the school holidays, hoorah! Glad everyone seems to be feeling a bit better and brighter now.

Having a pram dilemma. Was set on an uppababy vista, but hubby's mum saw an icandy something in john Lewis and said it looked amazing. Anyone got any experience with either of these? Luckily parents on each side are chipping in about £300 each, and we can put in the extra so we have a pretty decent budget. I know the uppababy is a great all rounder, but i think the icandy might be a bit more stylish. What do you guys think?

Sunbeam18 · 25/03/2013 21:46

Thanks! 7 or 8 is probably about right as know we will all get lots of pressies once they arrive. I wish I knew what size he was going to be! Though if he is big then guess I don't want to know in advance for labour fears!!!
Where do you recommend for cute outfits? There is some lovely stuff on Mamas and Papas website on sale (until Monday); I'm loading up a basket :)

Sunbeam18 · 25/03/2013 21:50

Maw, my friend had an iCandy cherry and loved it. Its pretty cool. I have also heard the Peach recommended. Don't know much about Uppababy other than they are also classy-looking prams. There might be some threads devoted to this on here?

MrsBri · 25/03/2013 21:58

Ooh...I've not looked at Mamas and Papas yet. I've mostly gone for plain cream or cute unisex designs from Asda.

I've ordered some hungry caterpillar short sleeved vests too, and some plain block bright colour ones from John Lewis.

I'm getting the same amount of newborn and 0-3 month clothes, to be on the safe side.

Sunbeam18 · 25/03/2013 22:10

Haven't looked at Asda - will add to my list! Think someone said Next had some good stuff too!

Littlemissexpecting · 25/03/2013 22:13

Maw DH and I have ordered an iCandy peach. Tbh it was the only one we both really liked. It's sturdy and moves so easily with a good basket and important to us was adjustable handle bar as DH is nearly a foot taller than me! We got carrycot for 0-6 months then pushchair think it came to 750. They also do a cherry (cheaper and lighter), strawberry (has memory fold) and apple. Really personal preference which one you prefer but I heard prices go up in April (for most prams after Harrogate fair) so I would decide pretty quickly.
I've bought too many sleep suits mix of newborn and upto 1 month (approx 15) but not going to go mad with outfits in first couple of weeks so figured that allows for a few changes over a few days. Got 2 cardis and a pack of vests. Need more vests but not going to buy any other clothes wait and see what we get. Not sure whether I should get a little coat or pram suit. I'm hoping being June we won't even need the cardi!

Littlemissexpecting · 25/03/2013 22:16

Sunbeam I have been looking in next, mothercare, mamas and papas and Sainsburys pretty good too. Debenhams have loads of cute things online.
I don't need to buy anymore but I can't believe how much stuff is on eBay.

redwellybluewelly · 25/03/2013 22:19

Suzy I hope you are resting and baby stays put

I'm struggling with finding maternity nightwear, my current PJ bottoms were primark cheapies and have literally fallen apart. Bump is so low that no 'normal' pjs will fit. And JJMB where I've got most of my things from has rhe most laughable selection ever! Who wants pale maternity nightwear? !?!?!??!?!

Sunbeam18 · 25/03/2013 22:28

Think you are right about harrowgate pram fair - they bring out new year stock at this event apparently and discontinue last year's stock. So prob best to order soon.
