Thanks Twinkle, Thinking and Mightbe I was hoping that I was not alone... I know we have mor blood in our bodies so was wondering if that was something to do with it. It almost has a bruised feeling but thinking I think it does hurt more if I haven't been for a while. I'll try and keep the exercises up mightbe Smile

TotallyEggFlipped · 14/04/2013 19:39

Cheese I feel very 'full' and a bit swollen down there. It's not sore, but feels uncomfortable if I stand for too long. I think it's due to pressure from the extra weight pressing down and general increased blood supply to the area.

Guavasforbreakfast · 14/04/2013 19:44

I've also been feeling really heavy down there the last few days, like he was really low down, and was a bit painful after a wee i'd held in a bit too long. It had been worrying me a bit after hearing shiv's news, but good to hear others have been feeling the same, must just be something we have to deal with as we move into the final trimester!

Cheese I noticed the exact same thing for the first time today. Then later on, after I'd been sitting in the same position in rather tight jeans for an hour or so, my "lady area" went completely numb! The feeling did come back after I stood up and walked around a bit but it was most odd... (Hmm maybe I should try and recreate the scenario for when the time comes to push Wink)

Been thinking of Shiv all day too, as well as a friend who had her DS on Friday night - full term but poorly and in SCBU. Fingers crossed for both little fighters...

Cheeseandbread · 14/04/2013 20:31

Totally swollen is a good way to describe it.

Guava it seems so strange to think that we are nearly in our final trimester- Shiv having her little man early has really made me think i need to stsrt getting ready.

Ama I'll be thinking of your friend's little man too and saying a little prayer.

dinkystinky · 14/04/2013 21:11

Keeping everything crossed for Shiv and family and your friend and her family too Ama.

Ellie - so pleased you had a great 4d scan and that the little one was being photogenic. Must feel so weird to know what they look like but not know the sex yet.

Back from holiday today- flight back was fun with a 2 her delay and a 27 week pregnant woman 2 rows ahead of us getting air rage as they dont let pregnant women sit in emergency exit seats before we even took off. Kids were great though. Am rather bemused as to why, despite having done 4 loads of laundry on holiday, I now appear to have 5 full loads to do! Must have angered the laundry gods somehow...

Cheese - know what you mean about the heavy feeling - had it in third trimester in last 2 pregnancies (along with leg cramps) - they haven't made an appearance so far yet. Extra weight on that area and blood flow can make it v sensitive - esp after sex. Doing your pelvic floor exercises can help habit but otherwise it appears to be one of those glamorous pregnancy things....

For those not on FB group, just to let you know Shiv has posted the following: (cut and pasted with her permission)

Shiv writes: It's been an exhausting day. Today we got all the family in to say 'hello' to Oliver as we were told first thing that he may not last much longer than a few hours because his blood pressure was so low & he hadn't done a wee since he pee'd on the consultant in Chester so might indicate kidney problems. Mid afternoon he did a 2ml wee and has perked up (you have never seen someone cry over a wee).
We have been given a room in the Ronald Mcdonald accommodation at the hospital and have been checked in open ended.
Anyway, he's still here & is very much loved. I will keep filling you in. Nurses say what DH did is basically the reason he is still here, so proud of him.
Oliver was also a 'footling breech' which basically means feet first and it was terrifying as he didn't come out in one go.
He's still very ill & realistically, if he gets through, we will be here till at least July.

MightBeMad · 14/04/2013 21:35

Ama, thank you so much for posting that. Shiv, her DH and Oliver have been in my thoughts all day. Please woud you post on the fb group that we are all sending our love to them all, especially little Oliver and hoping and praying that he keeps on fighting and continues to make his mummy cry - in a good way - at his strength and each little milestone xxx

chocolatesolveseverything · 14/04/2013 21:42

I'm on the August thread (though technically due at the end of July) and have occasionally peeped onto this thread out of interest. Just wanted to say my thoughts are with shiv and her family and I hope little baby Oliver thrives.

Thinkingof4 · 14/04/2013 21:58

ama thanks for the update on shiv and little Oliver.

Just to echo what mightbemad said, please pass on best wishes from this thread, I'm keeping everything crossed for Oliver to keep peeing, growing and getting stronger x

Cheeseandbread · 14/04/2013 22:03

So good to hear little Oliver is proving to be strong Shiv. He has been in my thoughts.

Thanks for your input Dinky thankfully I don't have leg cramps yet. I do however have acid and heartburn. Gaviscon is now my friend. Glad you returned safely from your hols even if you did have delay.

Abzs · 14/04/2013 22:38

Good news about the wee Shiv! Hope the three of you are being well looked after.

VinegarDrinker · 14/04/2013 22:40

Thanks very much for the update Ama - I haven't got around to joining the FB group yet.

Abzs · 14/04/2013 22:45

Re the heavy feeling, I have that too, as well as the doubled overness if I've been sitting with a semi-full bladder for a while.

New side effect of the week here is itching. I could quite happily claw the skin off my legs some nights.

I think I might also be nesting. Have been cleaning various random parts of the house, including the windows and the front path.

photographerlady · 15/04/2013 05:27

Morning ladies. So I went abit crazy over the weekend buying baby clothes from M&P and Next only to find out my mother has bought a huge lot as well. She ships things over from the states so watching on Skype her unpacking loads of rompers... What am I going to do with all these clothes. Silly me. I know I am buying to much so really which is silly but since I am rubbish at domestics maybe this is my form of nesting. Btw Abzs can you come clean my place :p

Persuasion · 15/04/2013 07:05

ama thank you for the update. shiv you, DH and Oliver are in mine and DHs thoughts and prayers.

cheese I also have a similar heavy feeling, kind of swollen, I just assumed it was normal at this point Blush

ellie I'm so glad your scan went well and has madew you feel a bit perkier about things, must me so exciting to know what they look like!

My new horrible pregnancy symptom seems to be nosebleeds. Unfortunately I also seem to have caught the stomach bug DH had last week, so am lying in bed instead of going to work today, it's all pretty unpleasant. It is very reassuring to feel chip kicking away in there though, and know that she's ok, even if I feel dreadful Envy

shelley72 · 15/04/2013 07:36

Thanks for the update about shiv as I'm not on Facebook. Footling breech births can be scary enough at term, let alone so early. Fingers crossed Oliver continues to get stronger x

wifey6 · 15/04/2013 07:48

Hi all...can I please join your FB group?

dinkystinky · 15/04/2013 08:54

Ugh nosebleeds AND a tummy bug -not fun! Hope you feel better soon Persuasion.

Wifey - pm your name on FB to one of the administrators (but not me - am rubbish at all thinks FB related, including regularly posting) - Orange bubbles, runswithsquirrels, Ama, Photographer and a few others on here are all administrators I think.

Abzs - your nesting sounds tiring! Hopefully you'll be done with the cleaning soon.

Photographer - I think I might be able to guess where you got the shopping gene from... Am sure your little one will look lovely in all of them.

Shiv - if you are reading hope you and DH got some rest last night and Oliver is perkier and stronger still today - and weeing on as many people as possible!

Need to catch up with everyone's news soon. Currently stuck in different part of country with broken down car. Shiv, will be thinking of you all and fingers and toes crossed for Oliver

wifey6 · 15/04/2013 09:26

Thank you dinky, what's the group called?

Twinklestarstwinklestars · 15/04/2013 09:30

Wifey it's a secret group you can't find it, if you on me your name I'll try and add you!

wifey6 · 15/04/2013 09:39

Have PMed you twinkle Smile

Grannyapple · 15/04/2013 12:13

Hi ladies-wifey I'm also an administrator so feel free to pm me too if you like (tho will be interesting me trying to add people to the group Smile).

Hope shiv & her dh had on ok-ish night..

I have been in a bit of pain since yesterday morning...have been popping paracetamol to try to get some rest. Have lower back pain that feels like period cramps & a bit of a niggle under the bump at left groin area. Spoke to SIL (mw)...she thinks its either start if a UTI or ligament pain so I might need to curtail my weekly spin classes Sad. Have appt with nurse tomorrow to drop off wee sample...hoping its not UTI...I ended up in labour ward at 30 weeks last time with suspected early labour but it was a bad UTI that got things going, so I'm paranoid now.

DS is poorly..had a fever in Saturday night, didn't eat anything all day yesterday & then threw up at DH's feet this morning as he was getting dressed for work Grin...trying not to lift DS in case it is ligament pain-he is a heavy wee 15-16kg lump! So working from home today..

Hope everyone had a good day
