See I'm glad you all agree about the chart as I've been REALLY REALLY trying re weight gain and am about right for the chart - think its v c conservative

TomDaleysTrunks · 03/04/2013 18:57

Afternoon all. I can barely keep up with you all!
I am not convinced about that weight gain chart. I think provided you aren't
Eating for 2 and are making the right choices it doesn't matter. I have gained a stone so far with this pregnancy. I think I will probably gain another one by 38 weeks. I'm exercising and making relatively good choices so I don't care.
Although I did have a maccy D's at lunch as it was all that I fancied on my way home at 3pm!

Getting pain in my right hip, think its sacro iliac pain. Other than that, I'm ticking along nicely. Relieved to see the sun.

phie what a stressful time for your family. I'm sure your sister is clinging onto a happy event to divert her attention from such a sad one. Hmm

On phone so can't name check all.

Thanks for the advice re weight Dinky. I'm not that worried about it really (tbh I was more concerned during the first trimester when every day the scales seemed to be going down, not up). It's just a bit frustrating as, just like any time I've gained weight pre-pg, a lot of the extra lbs and inches are going onto my hips and thighs, meaning that despite my bump remaining fairly modest, I'm in danger of growing out of all my recently purchased maternity trousers already Sad!

Good luck with scans Persuasion and Hai, and house move plans Hai and Totally, you brave ladies! Congratulations too on purchases/decisions of baby items. We've been offered a moses basket complete with stand and bedding for a tenner which seemed too good to resist, so between that, a borrowed crib and the carrycot our little lady will have no shortage of places to sleep for her first few months!

BB01 I had exactly the same in a meeting today - the duller it got the more she kicked. Very hard to concentrate on what was being said Grin!

BadMissM · 03/04/2013 19:18

Phie Sorry to hear about your sister.....Agree that she's trying to tell you that you are a GOOD point in her life....

Dinky You have just reminded me that I need to get breast pads etc for the hospital bag. Would help if we had any damn shops up here..... Boots quite limited...

TotallyEggFlipped Feel quite enormous at times, then at others quite small....definitely the bump is in a different place to DD!

MightbeMad I just don't have scales....

Seriously though, have put on about 12lb or so, despite gestational diabetes diet...

iclaudius Yep, am also bob on by your calculator...reassured!

Dinky Tee hee at Neil the Trucker's pie baby.....

Hai The house with the garden sounds lovely, and only you can decide when is too late for you, or not!

Mightbemad Am just having to deal with weight gain as because of existing and lovely new health issues, can't exercise without pain....

Me...hospital just rang to ask ME when I was coming in...then told me that the appt I have waited 4 weeks for with consultant wouldn't happen as she's on holiday (again). I didn't see her last time, as she was on holiday. MW asked why I was concerned by this (!) I said I'd like to discuss BirthPlan (after nearly dying last time). She snottily said 'but you're ONLY 24 weeks). Yes, but under stupid specialist consultant for problems, plus, as I pointed out, DD arrived at 31..... GRRRRR!

Hello ladies! Thank you all so very much for your support over the last day or two it really means so much especially when I can't talk to many people about this in RL.
DSis & BIL have now moved into their own house as most of the furniture is in & the bathroom is fitted. I went for a visit today but left when a row started over the living room furniture, I couldn't hold my tongue if I didn't leave! DSis seems a bit happier but it could be a front as she is very good at hiding her feelings, I'm camping out at OH's again tonight though just incase she wants to come back home over night & wants my bed. Did go & have a bit of a breakdown with my best friend last night, this all happening, OH having no luck finding a job, hating my job & bitchy friends all seem to be getting on top of me at the moment. OH did treat me to a nappy wrapper bin though yesterday, seems like a bit of a over extravagant gadget to me but it was very nice of him!
Also picked out our pram, we think all going well we will be having the Babystyle Oyster in grape on the black chassis, if anyone has/had this pram I'd be grateful for all honest thoughts or even if you have never had it but just want to share haha!

I hope everyone is well, speedily writing this as I have a bath ready for me to get into & I'm so bloody clumsy at the moment I'm highly likely to drop my phone in if I try doing this in the bath! 24+4

CitizenOscar · 03/04/2013 20:57

Phie - I've got the oyster and am happy with it (envious of your colour way though, had to compromise with DH on that one, and as it was one of the few issues he had an opinion on in our first pregnancy I let him get his way). Still using it with DS (22mo). Is there anything particular you want to know? Don't want to rabbit on about irrelevant stuff but happy to tell you anything you want to know!

Thinkingof4 · 03/04/2013 22:07

badmiss can't believe what a rubbish time you've had with hospital so far, I feel cross for you!

dinky I'm with you on the weight gain thing, we are growing little people inside us after all!

Just been watching OBEM,can't believe it's last in series, I've still got 13 weeks to go, what will I do on Wednesday nights now! Made me cry again tonight, big time.

dinkystinky · 03/04/2013 22:17

Good luck for your growth scan Persuasion.

BadmissM - I really can't believe how terrible your hospital care seems to have been so far. Am hoping they suddenly get good for the birth and post natal care.

Phie - we have a nappy wrapper - used it for ds1 and ds2 and will be using for dc3. Rather handy to just empty all nappies out into the wheely bin at the end of the day rather than have to keep popping out all the time.

lizincornwall · 03/04/2013 22:23

Badmiss - hope the consultant agrees to see you. If she's always going off on hols, you're right to try to get an appointment pinned down. Wish MWs would listen more when you've been through it before!

Phie - Hugs for all your dramas. You can always tell us! Hope it all calms down. You sound like a lovely sister to be there for your sis if she needs you Smile. Bet she can't wait to meet your bubba!
I have the Oyster max (as DD will be 20mths when this one arrives) and I LOVE it. Really easy to collapse, take off seat, attach car seat etc, and even though has 4 wheels has the tiny turning circle of my old 3-wheeler, perfect for little shops Smile

Exciting news on people buying in the essentials. I've only thought about the big stuff so far, and really should start to slowly stock-up on the basics (breastpads! Completely forgot about those!) so I'm not having to do a major shopping trip towards the end. I need to find a Peacocks for big pants, they were absolutely perfect last time (oh the glamour!!)

Handed my MATB1 in to work today & decided on leaving at 37 weeks. Can start counting down now (DH has a job interview Friday, fingers crossed...).

lizincornwall · 03/04/2013 22:24

& good luck for your growth scan Persuassion!!

PhieEl06 · 03/04/2013 22:38

Citizen ooo nice to hear someone likes it! OH surprisingly likes that colour the best. Does it fold down nicely & easily, my only concern is it fitting into the boot of my Nissan Micra hopefully a Juke by then though!

dinky nice to hear its not as pointless as I thought! Grin

PhieEl06 · 03/04/2013 22:43

Liz thanks for the hugs & kind words, she's so excited, glad really I can put a smile on her face. Ooo it's great to hear good things about the Oyster when I've been so fussy up to now.

SlouchingPanda · 03/04/2013 22:50

Hi Team!

Please can we have a motivational chat from Dinky every morning?! I enjoyed today's.

CheeseAndBread the Uppababy Vista comes highly recommended by a friend who particularly rates its massive shopping basket. Seemed v sturdy too.

Phie it's a strange day in our lives when a nappy wrapper is an appreciated treat from the OH, isn't it?! Nice of him though! If it helps to cheer you up during your stressful time, I imagined your viability dance a few days ago to be an intensely choreographed affair with sharp moves and pirouettes!

I think that Junior must be breech now after a real jiggly movement-fest earlier in the week. The movements have really changed and feel very low and 'muffled' and I'm pretty sure there's a head up at the top.

I am back to work tomorrow after a lovely long break. Just setting the alarm for 0615... Sad Better get to sleep or tomorrow will be a real struggle.

25+6

iclaudius · 03/04/2013 23:55

Cheeseandbread you need to change your name- gets me salivating at all times of day!!

CitizenOscar · 04/04/2013 00:08

Phie - to be honest I almost never fold it! We didn't get a car til recently and we leave it up in the hallway. But it is pretty easy and the wheels pop off really easily if you do need to fold it into small space. I agree it has a great turning circle, easy to steer/push even one-handed and big accessible shopping basket. A little heavy perhaps but that's the flip side of being robust I think. Narrow enough for buses & trains etc too.

TotallyEggFlipped · 04/04/2013 02:14

Feeling really tired & fed up right now. DD has a nasty cough & can't sleep. She keeps cough-vomiting & I'm up with her & knackered. Can't get her back to sleep. I just want to curl up in my bed Sad

photographerlady · 04/04/2013 05:48

Morning

When's the right time to start talking to your midwife about your birthing plan? 31 weeks too soon? I'm less worried about candles and ocean sounds and more about policy on delayed clamping, bf support if any, but don't want to come across a bit to eager beaver.

I guess a lot of its policy maybe they are more hospital tour questions?

photographerlady · 04/04/2013 05:53

TotallyEggFlipped sorry your DD is so poorly. Sleeping is a bit tough right now (think I'm having a pregnancy phase) but lack of sleep is worse :(

slouch have a good week back at work. Luck you on the 2 day work week.

lizincorn let the leave count down begin!

cheekbyjowl · 04/04/2013 09:00

Sorry your dd is unwell totally I had that horrid cough germ and found that steam helped if thats an option? Were looking to move to but not much is coming up. hai has your offer been accepted? How exciting! Ive fallen in love with a property with no garden but might need to reconsider that now. dinky still in admiration of all the exercise. Good on you. I found somewhere a breakdown of how much weight gain is usually child and water and.how much jiggle jaggle. Ill see if I can find a link, but well all have the summer to eat lovely salads, and drink pimms again (horray). phie if ever you want an extra sister can I.audition? I think its great they are trying to work it out.

Cant remember who asked about 16 kids. I really like some of the.families, especially the largest one the radfords. Quite envious, must be a fun house to be in

cheekbyjowl · 04/04/2013 09:03

Ooo and I think im getting the line. Belly like a hot.cross bun Wink

dinkystinky · 04/04/2013 09:22

Ooh Pimms... now THAT I am looking forward too. Cant believe its starting to bloody well snow out there today.

Slouching - good luck for your week back at working. Hope the shifts arent too bad. I only really feel movement properly at the bottom of my bump - apparently that's Beans hands scrabbling away (trying to dig his/her way out probably) - the movements at the top I get are more of a pushing motion (probably Bean stretching its legs or sticking its bum out).

Totally - poor you and poor DD! Really hope she's getting some sleep now and you are too - hope you dont have work today.

Liz - you've reminded me I need to hand in my MATB1 now I've got it.

Photographer - according to my notes its at the 27 week appt they give you a leaflet and at the 31 week one they talk about it with you. But you can bring it up to talk about whenever you want. Do ask about local bf support groups and peer support bf contact details - my lovely peer supporter came up to the hospital on the day DS1 was born and sat with me for hours establishing latch and teaching me how to do lying down feeding over that day and the next ones. She was a total life saver.

Discovery of the morning - if you are pregnant with a bump and put on a purple tankini, you look like an aubergine! Quick shopping trip for alternative maternity tankini called for at lunch time!

Slouching yes it is, a very pregnant day. It was a lovely gesture by OH though, did make me laugh when he suggested it. Smile & yes my viability dance included leaps & pirouettes & I even popped my pointe shoes on at one point until I realised that my balance is completely shot now & I don't look anywhere near as graceful as I once did. Figured out however Spocketta likes tap & musicals, especially cats, she's definitely going to take after her mommy! Grin

Thank you Citizen I am now even more convinced we have made the right choice.

Totally - hope you managed to get DD off to sleep & you back into bed! Hope she gets well soon! Xxx

Photographer I have a birthday plan session at the end my hospital tour, maybe call up & see if yours will be doing something similar?

Hahaha would be a very comical day if I held auditions for a new sister, but I will let you know cheek if I do hold any! Wink

Re Pimms: another yummy thing going on my list of must haves for after baby arrives, along with the bottle of rosé. making up for the fact I can't have cocktails in Portugal Sad

Hope you all have a lovely day whatever your doing, I am unfortunately stuck in work having a rather boring day! 24+5

PhieEl06 · 04/04/2013 10:02

Birthday?! I did mean birthing

photographerlady · 04/04/2013 10:02

thanks for the advice dinkystinky I am going to pop over to the local bf groups when I am on leave at 34 weeks. I much rather have the peace of mind that one of the nice supporter/teachers would pop over to hospital than assume the bf person working at the hospital will be there.

photographerlady · 04/04/2013 10:03

hehe Phie birthday plan, I was like ... wow shes so positive gives is a uplifting name :P
