Runs - glad you got your bloods taken without too much hassle. They always seem to have to dig around to find a good vein for my bloods - not looking forward to my gtt in April.

Photographer - ouch that sounds super painful. Poor you. Are you seeing/referred to an osteopath for your back?

photographerlady · 20/03/2013 19:12

dinky seeing someone next month, I thought it was a bit weird when they suggested it a few weeks ago but my belly is making my posture wonky so glad they suggested it now.

trustissues75 · 20/03/2013 19:17

OOf - I've had a rough 48 hours - long story to do with ex and visitation..

Anyhoo - did anyone hear from iclaudius yet?

Sorry about your back, photographerlady.

AmaDablam · 20/03/2013 19:27

Hello, just checking in. Not much to report here...

iclaudius good luck with your scan. I think the other person on the thread in her mid 40s is BadMissM (apologies if I've got that wrong). Come to think of it I don't think I've seen any posts from her in a little while so hope she is OK.

BB01 thanks for the jeggings tip. My maternity jeans from New Look that I was so pleased with last week, suddenly seem to have morphed into one of the most super-uncomfy garments I have ever had the displeasure of wearing Sad. I don't know if I've put on loads of weight on my hips and thighs in the past few days or just the effect of sitting at my desk for long periods of time, but they're really tight around the crotch. They've also started to go bobbly already and I haven't even washed them yet! Not impressed.

Photographer sorry to hear your in so much pain with your back. Hope it eases off soon.

AmaDablam · 20/03/2013 19:31

Sorry iclaudius just saw trustissues comment and re-read your post and realised your scan will have already happened. Hope all is well.

iclaudius · 20/03/2013 19:32

Hello all. Scan was good - v long and chatty- two sonographers very interested in the harmony test as I was their 'first' they totally see it as the way forward and seemed to think it will replace Michael in a couple of years...!
Baby was v v v active ( scary) but all looked good.
Went to empty bladder after and had small bleed which I've never had before so a bit unnerving but trying to rest now

iclaudius · 20/03/2013 19:32

Replace Michael??? How funny ! 'Nuchal' of course !

Thinkingof4 · 20/03/2013 19:35

Hope scan went ok iclaudius

bigbelly and others re weepiness I'm often like that esp wih stuff relating to the boys whether I'm pg or not!

I'm not sure who mentioned 30 week panic but I think I can see that approaching too

paolo glad scan ok and team yellow is a good place to be!

photographer hope back is improving

trust sounds v stressful, hope you've rl support to talk about that

Anyway another exhausting super busy day at work but still feel I'm doing ok and want to keep going till at least 36 weeks. My eBay purchase arrived - a lovely dress to wear to a wedding in June. I'm pretty pleased with it at the moment in terms of the fit so fx it still fits me in about 10 weeks time! I did try stuffing a cushion up there too to simulate what I might look like and well, erm, I'm glad it's got some stretch to it!!!

Thinkingof4 · 20/03/2013 19:37

X post iclaudius Grin at Michael test
Hope you have no more bleeding, lovely seeing an active little baby!

AmaDablam · 20/03/2013 19:45

Glad your scan was OK iclaudius. I did wonder what this new "Michael" technique was until I saw your second post!! Sorry to hear you had a bleed, hopefully with some rest that will be the last of it.

Thinking, glad I'm not the only one who stuffs cushions under things to see if/how they will fit in the months ahead Smile. Unfortunately the dress I got on ebay last month that was intended for a hen do this weekend needs a much bigger bump to fill it out, so that'll have to go back in the wardrobe in the hopes that another opportunity to wear it comes up when I'm further along. Hey ho, at least it was an excuse to buy an alternative outfit Smile.

TotallyEasterEggFlipped · 20/03/2013 19:46

Glad to hear you had a good scan iclaudius. I hope the bleeding has stopped and you're taking it easy. Grin at a Michael test.

trust I hope things are ok and you have RL support. Sounds like the kind of stress you could do without!

photographer - ouch! Hope your back gets sorted soon.

dinkystinky · 20/03/2013 20:09

Glad you had a good scan iclaudius - hope the bleed has stopped now and you're resting and being looked after by dp.

Trust - sorry your ex is causing you stress. Hope things get sorted OK and stress levels die down soon.

Ama, Thinking - lol at you stuffing cushions down your tops. I'd have to stuff ds2's space hopper down my top to simulate what I will look like in 10 weeks time.

So team yellow here btw!

MiniPenguinMaker · 20/03/2013 21:07

Hello you talkative sorts.

I'm 23 weeks exactly today - how time flies! Just starting to have this overwhelming urge to buy lots of baby clothing, and rearrange the bedroom (no mean feat - there's quite a bit of stuff stored in various bookshelves, desks and wardrobes!). Is this nesting?!

Also beginning to get some discomfort in my hips/pelvis. Bah. Let's hope it stays relatively stable...

MarieKL · 20/03/2013 22:04

Abzs Glad your manager was supportive.

Trust Sorry to hear you've had a rough time. I hope things get better.

*Mini sounds like nesting to me and if it gives you the energy to get everything done then all the better.

Iclaudis glad the scan went well. I was very miffed about Micheal until your second post Smile

Just happened to tune into a radio programme today when travelling between sites on swaddling and thought you all might find the link to the video below showing how to safely swaddle a baby useful, if you're planning on trying it. I did try with DS but he was just to wriggly and my sleep deprived befuddled brain couldn't work out how to do it!

www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-12862121

Photographerlady Ouch! I hope the pain goes soon.

Can't remember who looked at the April thread but the comment about our thread made me smile, along with those suffers cushions under their clothes.

dinkystinky · 20/03/2013 22:12

Mini - get an exercise ball and blow it up so super firm and try sitting on that instead of sofa - make sure your hips are higher than your knees. Might help alleviate aches starting in your lower body. I agree with Marie - sounds like you are nesting!

photographerlady · 21/03/2013 06:43

Morning all. Well I am off back to work today to make up for the two days I missed. I may look into one of those balls as well seeing sitting is the worse thing for your back. I found a maternity one online for tall ladies so could always use it now til labour day.

AmaDablam · 21/03/2013 07:16

Morning all. Hope work goes OK today photographer.

DH was away last night and whilst I hate not having him here, I must say I've just had the most wonderful night's sleep - didn't wake once and when morning came I was actually still on my left side with my wedge-cushion under my bump! There is clearly much to be said for having the bed to yourself...

Did anyone see One Born Every Minute Last Night? (DH hates it so another perk of having the house to myself) The one lady who didn't have any pain relief other than gas and air was so serene it was impossible - just a little oooh, ouch, aah and the baby was out. Then I flicked over to catch the end of BBC3's "We're having a baby" which is more about younger parents and there was much more screaming and "It f*ing hurts, I can't do this anymore!!!!". I suspect I am going to be much more like the ladies in the latter programme when the big day comes....

Thanks for the info on swaddling Marie. Talking of radio shows, DH found this one, "Bump Club" on 5 Live:

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01qzfzm

It's on at the ridiculous hour of 11pm so we've been recording it. None of it's rocket science, even to the uninitiated like me, but it's interesting nonetheless, and the ladies they are following are all at about the same stage as us.

Runswithsquirrels · 21/03/2013 07:58

Oo Ama I intend to be like the first woman you saw. Am already reading up on hypnobirthing and trying to condition my mind. There is no need for pain!

trustissues75 · 21/03/2013 08:20

Thanks guys - it's all a bit of a stress really. The ex has decided to bring himself and his new family to the UK for 6 weeks and is demanding he take our son to London and Paris without a court order..and guess when they're coming? Yup, you've guessed it....from my 36th week till the middle of week 41...amazing and such a coincidence....

trustissues75 · 21/03/2013 08:23

Ooh, Ama...yes! I saw it last night. I was marvelling at her too. I went super-sonic with my first!

trustissues75 · 21/03/2013 08:34

Also, tonight on ITV at 9pm - Home Delivery - who's watching it?

Grannyapple · 21/03/2013 08:43

Morning ladies....I'll join the backache club...I thought it was due to my new shoes (got some nice wedges from m&s for work), but I actually have my ball set up in the living room but rarely use it (ds does tho...he loves rolling it around the room & then pounding it as if its a drum!). Need to get back on it every night now...tho I'm thinking I could do with a new chair in work too...

Re OBEM..recorded it, so looking forward to catching up on it tomorrow when I'm off (& can have a good blub!). I had a waterbirth with no pain relief (went into hospital at 9cm dilated....was convinced I was only 5 at the time!)..then 90 mins later, DS arrived. But I was expecting to be cussing constantly (& in my Glasgow accent, I was fearing for the mw's Grin). But you might surprise yourselves ladies....when I turned up at mw unit, mw thought I was too calm to be in labour & was going to send me home, til she checked me! (Think I was zoned out....after 12 hours of contractions!). I am soo hoping this one will be quicker!

Busy day at work today (HO meeting to fall about financial results)...will be glad when today is well & truly over!!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Grannyapple · 21/03/2013 08:45

Ooh trust will need to watch that too...DH is going to love me hogging the remote tonight for a change Grin. Hope ex DH comes to some sense soon for you, to ease up on your stress levels.

esme80 · 21/03/2013 10:05

I also have obem recorded, looking forward to ds's nap to watch it... I think everyone reacts to labour and pain in their own way, I was a lot like granny got to hospital at 8 cm and had gas and air. I went very quite, didnt want to talk scream or anything just kind of went into myself. Was pushing for almost 3 hours though, so hoping that might speed up a little this time...
