Spanish I can feel flutters too , with my last pregnancy I felt them about 8 weeks .I have no symptoms at all apart from sore boobs which from past experience means a boy ! let's see if I'm right , I have been the last 2 times Grin

MummaPanda · 20/03/2013 17:39

That's weird, I can barely eat anything! Was the same with dd though in the first trimester, I lost over half a stone last time!
Definitely made up for it in the 3rd trimester though!

vix206 · 20/03/2013 17:44

I felt flutters yesterday when I was in bed but mine MUST be gas as I'm still only 5+5!!!

My only symptoms now are sore bbs, mega-thirst, hot/cold and insomnia. Only 4 hrs sleep last night Confused

Alwaystheauntie · 20/03/2013 17:53

Eating makes me feel sick. Which is a real bonus as I could do with losing some weight!!Grin Picking up the dogs poop also makes me feel very sick so DH will be on poop scoop duty from now on!! So far so good Grin.

busyprocrastinating · 20/03/2013 17:54

Glad it's not just me who can't eat mumma!

Minesahotchocolate · 20/03/2013 18:05

BangOn - I've been the same. Up until today I ate lots, actually wanting healthy foods for once, and that seemed to help the nausea. Today I woke feeling full and queasy, and can't bring myself to eat barely anything. Nothing appeals. Would be when DH is away for work and doesn't come back until Friday. I feel knackered and can't get warm (think I've got overtired as that always makes me feel cold) and just want to curl up on the sofa with a hottie and watch trashy tv... not look after DD (who is 2). Bleurgh!

MsFanackerPants · 20/03/2013 18:07

No sickness just horrendous nausea if I walk more than 10 metres. And my boobs feel like they're being inflated every day. I'm usually a GG ...how insanely big are they going to end up?

Also super tired. And goodness knows what has happened to my digestive system, it's at war with me!

MummaPanda · 20/03/2013 18:21

I swear iv been feeling flutters too, not sure if it is pissible this early but your definitely supposed to be able to feel it earlier with dc2+ so maybe it is? We can't all be imagining it surely!!

Glad that being so hungry seems to be a common pregnancy symptom - there I was thinking I am just being greedy!Wink

alex6 I've started taking fragmin injections daily as our son was stillborn last December at 35+6 due to a thrombosis. Docs say that this should prevent it happening again.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 20/03/2013 18:41

I'm the same re food. It's been up and down with my appetite. I'm feeling so nauseous that I can't eat real food. Somehow cake and crisps are the only thing I can face. I really don't think they are food Sad. I bought soup for lunch today as I find it easier to drink my lunch. As I said earlier, midwife said it is normal to eat like you are on man vs food, and to be too nauseous to eat. Darn pregnancy hormones!

Dizzy81 · 20/03/2013 19:06

I'm glad it's not just me that's eating non stop. I ate ,y lunch yesterday by 11.30 and then went and got a big bag of cheese bales and 8 French fancies. Surprisingly they got polished off this morning at work.

And I'm craving greggs sausage rolls! Urge

williaminajetfighter · 20/03/2013 19:13

Bangon was your Dc2 a boy or a girl? I'm trying to work out what I'm having and if the sickness -worse than last time - makes it a girl or boy.

Am crossing my fingers for another girl!

Saundy · 20/03/2013 19:48

32L Suffolk I didn't even know that was possible!!

Hate Tues & Weds as I go straight from one job to another so it's an 8-8 day (why did I say I'd help out again?!).

I'm struggling to eat, but for no particular reason, just no appetite/don't fancy anything.

DH will definitively get to clean up the cat mess next time, not matter when it happens!
I do know about avoiding cat stuff when pg, but I just didn't think about it! It was a reflex, I just got up and started cleaning it up, because that's what I always do. Must.try.remember.I.am.prrreeeeegggggnnnnaaaannnttt!

Lol at all the eating going on - ladies, I was like that in my first pg, the only thing that stopped the 24hr-sickness was a full stomach. And by full, I mean full. Not just a little salad or some soup, it had to be stodgy carbs. We went to Cornwall when I was about 8 weeks, and when I discovered the Cornish pasties, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven Grin. I put on over 3st during my last pg - this time I'm determined not to let that happen, if at all possible! I'm planning to join Slimming World, I'm currently with Weight Watchers, but they won't let you stay when your pg.

Got a very pleasant surprise when I came home today - my referral letter with the haematologist consultant! Very happy, I only went to the GP on Monday, she really must have pushed this! The appointment is really soon as well, April 3, when I'll just be about 6 weeks, that is soooo great. Last time, I had to wait ages for the appointment, which then would have been at the very end of my first trimester. I tried and tried to get it changed, it was impossible. At least one thing less to worry about! So I guess I'll be joining you with the daily injections soon, Purple.

arty Excuses for drinking - I've used these in the past with success:

  • I'm on antibiotics because I have a bladder infection (no one will ask for more details, and every woman will be very sympathetic)
  • I've had a lot last night and am still feeling very rough
  • I'm training for a race or something else fitness-related (obv doesn't always work)
  • I'm on strong painkillers for xyz (works well in combination with the antibiotics one).

Also, you can try having disguised non-alcoholic drinks. e.g. a G&T without the gin, Bacardi Coke without the Bacardi, Bloody Mary without the vodka, or just lemonade/water and then say it's got stuff with it, no one will notice (but you have to make sure that you order them yourself, or through someone who knows).
The later it gets, the less people will notice what or what not you are drinking. You can then switch to maybe a glass of wine that you then hang on to for the rest of the evening...

GinSling82 · 20/03/2013 20:59

Evening ladies!

I haven't been managing to post much or keep up very well as pregnancy tiredness + long work shifts means I'm no longer living but just existing Sad I hope I haven't missed anything important!

I am eating really erratically. I get waves of nausea that respond to eating (lots) but if I get too full that makes me feel sick also. Suddenly started craving bacon and literally HAD to have it this morning. But even though I had a large egg and bacon breakie I was starving again by 9.30! Then proceeded to eat crisps, sandwich, haribo, chocolate, more crisps Grin. I feel slightly obsessed with crisps - when I'm nauseous they seem the only thing I can fancy! So much for health eating for the little bean Blush.

My boobs feel heavier and Ive kinda got a bigger cleavage poking out of my bras but they are just not as tender as they were a week ago - is anyone else's boobs less sore?

firsttimemummyy · 20/03/2013 21:12

Hi all! I'm 7 weeks and 1 day pregnant with my first very wanted baby, due on 5th November. I'm the first of my friends to have a baby (despite being 29!) and am finding this 12 week period really difficult, especially as I've never known anyone who's gone through it or talked to anyone about it. So I am really glad to find this group! DH is v supportive but he doesn't quite understand of course. I feel sick ALL the time - although I haven't actually been sick so I know I'm lucky in a way! But the worst thing is I have completely gone off food. I love my food - meals/chocolate were the joy of my day - so suddenly finding myself not even wanting to eat has come as a bit of a shock. Vegetables are the worst.. I almost can't swallow them if they're in my mouth! Potatoes and crisps and bread are suddenly my main foods and even those don't appeal much. I was really worried because im losing weight and Im already a bit skinny (fast metabolism I think!) so it is good to hear that others have this in the first trimester. I'm looking forward to making up for it later though (this sickness does go away in the 2nd trimester I hope?!) Also everything smells horrible!! Just to add to my general food aversion, the smell of cooking puts me off before I've even started to eat.I've also had the most itchy skin since I got my BFP.. prickling all over especially at night. it seems to be going away a bit now though thank goodness! i just wish time would hurry up.. I feel like I have been pregnant for so much longer than 7 weeks! Hurry up 12 weeks!! It will be so nice to reach that date and see our babies on the first scan.. and to feel like the dangerous period is over and to be finally able to tell people (and explain why I've been MIA for the last 3 months!)

Fairydogmother · 20/03/2013 21:15

Gin mine Gp through phases of being sore and then not. My OH gave me a hug tonight and I yelled in pain! But now they're fine lol

Fairydogmother · 20/03/2013 21:16

Hi there firsttime! My first baby too

Saundy · 20/03/2013 21:18

Gin my boobs still haven't got the memo that I'm pregnant lol - hopefully yours won't either Suffolk Wink

All my good super healthy eating aspirations are starting to fall by the wayside. It just has to take minimal effort - sooo tired.

Saundy · 20/03/2013 21:20

Ooh hi FirstT & to the other newbies I've missed. Yes lots of us first timers here!

GinSling82 · 20/03/2013 21:22

Thanks fairy that's reassuring! If there is something to be paranoid about I will be and although I still feel tired and on off nauseous the boobs being less sore was a little worry!

Welcome firsttimemummy! Yes this thread can be a life-saver. Particularly as I haven't told friends either so have no one to chatter with about these things. Obviously there is DH but I think he's probably already bored of my moaning, so trying to keep it to a minimum. Although regularly inform him what size of fruit our baby is and what organs he/she has developed this week!

MotherOfCleo · 20/03/2013 21:24

hi first welcome. My edd is Nov 6th and I am 7 weeks today so we are pretty close Grin

Im going for a sneaky early scan at 9+1 and cannot wait! Got my date for my 12 week scan today too, April 29....its at 11.40 though so no idea what to tell work, I'm thinking maybe take a morning off? I could tell my boss before hand but I would need to leave at like 11.15 for a couple of hours which is a bit of a piss take. Although I could ask to work from home in the morning and tell him I have a docs appointment, then just keep my phone on me, that might be easiest I guess. Sorry just thinking aloud their. Grin
