Hi Always and welcome.

It will be my first too! How are you doing so far? Everyone seems to have different symptoms.

heartonsleeve · 20/03/2013 13:22

Afternoon all - and welcome to all the newbies Smile

I got very confused this morning, as had appointment through for my scan - for Friday! After some discussion with the hospital, it's not my 12 weeks scan 4 weeks early, it's because I'll be under consultant care due to pre-existing heart condition. Anyway, it's cheered me up because we get to check in on the bean.

Still being sick every morning, but have learnt to cope with it. Yday and today have felt very sick all day, apart from when eating. Am putting it down to a growth spurt.

Very thankful I'm not working atm, as feel very tired in the afternoon; I salute all of you who are. I am contemplating taking some more temp work once I get a few weeks down the line... we'll see!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 20/03/2013 13:26

Eek I've missed loads.

ncs I'm so so sorry

honey hope the cramps stop. Thinking of you.

alex it's looking great for you, I know what you mean about time ticking slowly in the early days of a BFP. Best of luck.

louby86 · 20/03/2013 13:39

Onetoddle I ended up in some that were in the Asda sale for £2 last time after going from a B cup to bursting out of double Ds by the time my milk came in. I'd gone up a couple of sizes by the time I had my 12 week scan, I'd been trying to keep it quiet but kept getting questions about my boobs!

Fairydogmother · 20/03/2013 14:46

Hi and welcome always

heart my friend has a heart condition and she got scanned regularly so expect that you see you're bean quite often!

williaminajetfighter · 20/03/2013 15:37

holey moley, I am constantly famished! Anyone else? I feel like if I don't have food in my stomach I will pass out and/or be sick... today I was walking down the street shoving a sandwich in my mouth. Just an hour ago I ate two paninis. It is madness.

I don't remember feeling this overwhelming need to eat nor the role that food has in keeping my sickness at bay. Is this the same for others? At this rate I am going to be 20 stone of pregnant sasquatch.

ProbablyJustGas · 20/03/2013 15:43

It's the same for me. :) EDD Nov 17th. Salad didn't cut it at lunchtime, just had a second lunch of emergency porridge.

MotherOfCleo · 20/03/2013 15:48

will i am so glad Im not alone, I feel nauseous when I get hungry so Im eating all the time. All I want is stodge too which is bad, been good today though, 2 apples, tomato cuppasoup, carrot sticks and hummus....then got mince tonight. I have already put on 4lbs. Confused

OneLittleToddleTerror · 20/03/2013 15:51

I was constantly famished last week. So much so that I had a bacon sarnie mid morning everyday. This week I am too nauseous to stomach food Sad. Except cakes and crisps. I wish I still eat that bacon sarnie. I talked to the midwife about it at my booking in yesterday. She said both is normal and I should stop worrying but simply graze high protein snacks more. But cakes are not protein are they? Sad

OneLittleToddleTerror · 20/03/2013 15:53

motherofcleo I was weighed yesterday and I am 3kg heavier than normal. I seldom weigh myself so I'm not sure when I gained the weight. I think 3kg is 7 or 8lbs isn't it?

OneLittleToddleTerror · 20/03/2013 15:54

Google says it is 6lbs btw.

williaminajetfighter · 20/03/2013 16:01

So glad i'm not alone but, dear god, the weight gain could be out of control. Today's food consumption = bagel, 2 paninis, a yogurt, a cookie, two lemonades, an avacado (!), an apple... and it is only 4pm. god help me.

And not a bit of protein in site. They don't call me 'the carbohydrate kid' for nothing!

getoffthecoffeetable · 20/03/2013 16:06

I'd put on 4lbs with pregnancy but have list it again being I'll with tummy bug. Am now madly making up for not having eaten for three days, seem to be starving today.
PILs came to visit this morning, they still don't know. Normally would've cracked open a bottle if wine for MIL and had a glass with her but played the rubbish hostess and didn't offer wine. Only tea, coffee and sandwiches. Talked about our best friends who're pregnant and still haven't spilled the beans about our bean!
Have been wearing the travel bands, daren't take them off in case I'm feeling sick again but apart from the hunger (and gigantic boobs) no other symptoms so all paranoid now!

Theicingontop · 20/03/2013 16:14

Off to my early bird appointment at the hospital in half an hour. Didn't have this with DS, just a routine booking in appointment. Anybody else have to go to this group thing?

OneLittleToddleTerror · 20/03/2013 16:16

will I'm looking at the graze box site thinking whether I should take the plunge. I got a free voucher from my bounty pack, or the Emma diary. I think it will do me good not to keep eating the cakes and crisps.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 20/03/2013 16:18

theicing no one mentions any group thing to me. I have to make myself available at the hospital for bloods sometime before 12 weeks, a scan also at 12 weeks and then it's back to my midwife at 16 weeks.

stuffthenonsense · 20/03/2013 16:23

Jbrd. Wake your oh up next time. You absolutely shouldn't be touching cat products.
Honey hope you are ok.
I'm another in the eat or vomit club. It's really annoying but it can't be helped.

MotherOfCleo · 20/03/2013 16:31

stuff im pretty sure its cat poo which is the issue due to the tiny tiny risk of toxoplasmosis, cat sick, although not nice, should be ok to clear up.

On a different note, Im having a murder mystery dinner party on saturday and everyone will be drinking....lots! My OH and my besty are the only ones who know im preggo so I have a cunning plan to stop people topping up my glass. I have decided to have wine of the table in a wine cooler....BUT to drink cider myself, 0% alcohol cider, it says non alcoholic on the bottle but Ive painted over it Grin so it shouldnt be obvious, plus I'll obviously have it in a glass. I also got 0% sparkling wine for toasts....sneaky sneak....Im quite proud of myself. Grin Fingers crossed I can pull it off.

busyprocrastinating · 20/03/2013 16:36

Just been for my booking in appointment so now just need to wait for my scan appointment to come through. The midwife was lovely and took my needle phobia seriously, unlike last time, but she was a student so won't be looking after me. She was also reassuring about me feeling down.

I just can't stomach food at the moment but I can remember last time I was pg I was so hungry all the time and no matter how much I ate- which was a lot- I could not get full. Luckily though I hardly put on any weight other than the bump so dd must have needed it all.

vix206 · 20/03/2013 16:39

Yes it's only cat faeces that you have to be wary of. I'm not worried about my 2 as they are indoor cats and don't have toxoplasmosis. I just make sure (always, not just when pregnant) that I wash my hands well after cleaning the litter tray.

Hiya,

I can definitely relate to the eat or be sick brigade - I am constantly grazing to stave off the waves of nausea - am getting funny looks from the girl next to me.....also have a confession - despite my wariness and general paranoia I am wearing a maternity dress today - Im 6+6 people!! But have a little bump and a massive arse - I literally cannot do up the two skirts and one pair of trousers that tend to be my uniform at work - todays food consumption includes:

2 x slices of toast with marmelade
1 x pret porridge pot with honey
1 x pretzel
1 x cheese/salad baguette
1 x tub of mango slices
couple handfuls of nut/berry mix

we have cupcakes at worktoday but so far I've resisted eating one/all of them.

am also worrying about a friend who is going through IVF and had her egg collection this morning - havent heard from her or her sister (who went with her) as to how it went - really hope that isnt a bad sign

also - please bash me over the head - there isnt any way I can feel anything so early right? Im having the weirdest little fluttering/prodding sensations that really remind me of when I first felt my son (which for my first pregnancy I think was quite early - 15 weeks - with my son my DH could feel him too)

MTB82 · 20/03/2013 17:04

Hi all

Welcome to the newbies, haven't managed to post for a while and just took ages to catch up.

I'm totally with all the constant eaters-I can't stop and it's all 'yellow' food only stodge and crap will do, can't get enough crisps.

Boobs are also huge, my DH came back after a week away and I got a hilarious "woah they're MASSIVE!!" They feel so solid and heavy too and are v sore.

Have my booking appt tmrw and have now told my boss (had too so I could get teaching cover) she was lovely about it and seemed genuinely excited. Was so surreal saying "I'm pregnant" out loud!! Hoping the booking appt isn't too much of an anticlimax tomorrow.

artyone · 20/03/2013 17:07

Afternoon,

I too am eating lots, 2 lunches for the past few days and I feel nauseous when hungry. I haven't been too sick luckily, but I feel nauseous most afternoons.

I am finding it tricky already to find excuses to not drink. I was offered wine about 5 times last night. If only I could drive I would have a good excuse. I am going to a birthday meal this weekend and lots of family are going to be there. They know me well so i'll need a good excuse. I might say I was drinking the evening before and don't feel like it.

BangOn · 20/03/2013 17:24

i had the eat or be sick thing particularly with dc2.

this time around i seen to be doing it in stages. for thw past week or two i've been eating really healthily, but lots of it - especially dried mango & pineapple. as of today i've started feeling dizzy & nauseous & have eaten the following: about 20 dry rice crispies, half a cheese & tomato sandwich, one malted milk biscuit & one chocolate lucky star. feel full/ sick.
