Hope everything is ok ncs x

Dizzy81 · 18/03/2013 17:59

ncs, big hugs. I hope everything is ok?

Is anyone else experiencing back pain at the moment?

busyprocrastinating · 18/03/2013 18:05

Hi everyone a s welcome to the newbies.

Ncs hope that everything goes ok tomorrow.
Dizzy yes in my lower back. It was one of my first symptoms last time.

I'm still feeling really flu like and sorry for myself. Could hardly keep my eyes open yesterday. I am going to call in sick at work tomorrow and Wednesday I want to give myself chance to recover properly and it's my booking in appointment in Wednesday so will save having to lie about where I'm going.

PassTheCremeEggs · 18/03/2013 18:20

Evening all. Sorry to hear so many are feeling rough. Now the diarrhoea has stopped I feel ok other than extreme tiredness.

Going back to work tomorrow at the end of my current maternity leave - have been off for a year and can't think of anything I want to do less than go back to work! Urgh totally dreading it. DD hasn't settled well at nursery so am worried about leaving her too, although she's getting better and I know she'll be fine. They're lovely and the other babies are all really happy so I'm content it's a nice place! And I'm paranoidly certain everyone at work will know I'm pregnant again straight away.

Anyone else gone back to work from one maternity leave already pregnant with the next? How did you motivate yourself?! Shock

PassTheCremeEggs · 18/03/2013 18:21

Ps ncs really hope all is ok for you, sorry you're having a tough time.

getoffthecoffeetable · 18/03/2013 18:27

ncs keeping everything crossed for you that it's all ok. What tome's your appointment? We're all here for virtual handholding if you need us.

Have got my travel sickness bands on, fingers crossed they work. I'm sure now that it's a tummy bug though. Hopefully it'll disappear by tomorrow morning!

busy I hope you're feeling better soon. Being ill is no fun anyway but always worse when pregnant as there are no miracle cure drugs we can take!

getoffthecoffeetable · 18/03/2013 18:29

creme eggs good luck with your first day back tomorrow. You can blame symptoms on tummy bug for a while.

SpanishLady · 18/03/2013 18:29

thinking of you ncs - hope all is ok x

Hoping all ok for you ncs

Vix - not alone with the insomina - I keep waking up around half four/five and then not really going properly back to sleep. It's making work a joy!

ncsmummy · 18/03/2013 19:43

Thanks all! My appt is at 11. Dreading it but at the same time I just want to get the answers really. Today has seemed to go on forever!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 18/03/2013 20:01

ncs really hope it's ok tomorrow. Thanks

honey I'm waiting for my spd to put in an appearance too. I got it at 15 weeks with dd. Every twinge makes me think its back. I guess the acid test is rolling over in bed, when that hurts I know it's back.

Hi to all the newbies.

Saundy · 18/03/2013 20:13

So sorry to hear that ncs sending lots of positive vibes your way.

Congrats & welcome to all the newbies too!

I've been getting an achey back too, which makes no sense to me as I'm bumpless!! V strange.

Have also been thinking of the birth already, started to develop a morbid fascination with the childbirth threads. DP keeps telling me to stop looking but I can't!!

harverina · 18/03/2013 20:17

Ncs hope you are ok, will be thinking of you tomorrow and hoping that everything is ok. It must be a positive sign that the bleeding has stopped? Thanks

I had thought about calling in sick this week but think I will be ok. Had I been working at the weekend i would never have made it in, I felt awful.

Going to head to the chemist tomorrow for a sickness band. Feeling sick a lot and its getting worse. Hoping that the bands help.

Someone asked about magazines? I used to subscribe to prima mother and baby - last time round I was obsessed with baby magazines! I loved them for the birth stories and reviews etc but agree with the others - there was a lot of patenting advice that I didn't agree with and don't listen to what they say about Breastfeeding! I can honestly say that the Breastfeeding advice I read was appalling (I am a peer supporter).

Williamina I am going off certain drinks and food too - not as keen on coffee or vegetables. I was dry heaving putting out the green beans at dinner tonight Hmm worried that I'm it having my 5 a day.

Welcome and congrats to the new people Grin

haverina & suffolk I'm so impressed with you being peer supporters for bf.

I was furious with the advice we were given when pregnant. They said the baby would crawl up your stomach and latch on straight away. I knew several people who had bf successfully and really struggled at the start. I was a bit vocal when it came to telling them I though they were talking crap.

I then gave birth to one of those odd babies that actually does crawl up your stomach and latch on Blush (she would latch on to anything)

I bf dd till 13 months but am really nervous about this one. If this one doesn't bf automatically I don't know what to do to fix it.

artyone · 18/03/2013 20:49

ncs wishing you well for tomorrow

harverina · 18/03/2013 20:55

Suffolk i was with bfn too but lost my registration as kept missing groups/supervision as went back to work. Would like to pick it up again when on mat leave next time if possible - so I am not technically a current peer supporter though did the training Grin

My dd didn't feed for 4 days due to being so sleepy so she definitely didn't crawl up my tummy and latch on! We kept trying though and it eventually clicked - she fed for almost 2.5 years in the end! I buzzed the buzzer in hospital every time she was due a feed - probably vey annoying for the midwives but I was determined!

harverina · 18/03/2013 20:57

Although my dd didn't match on straight away, once she started she didn't stop haha and she would drink mummy's milk out of anything!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 18/03/2013 21:02

2.5 years. I'm so impressed. I want to bf this one for longer this time.

i found breastfeeding surprisingly painful with both my dcs. for what seemed like months neither would latch onproperly without a midwife or bf counsellor positioning them. it's the bit i'm looking forward to least this time around.
