Morning all! Ive woken up with my DHs cold today, throat feels like cut glass and eyes are killing Sad i have also been blessed with a bloody coldsaw. Yuck!
On the topic of midwife apps, my next one is this Thursday and my scan is on the16th April! So not too long to wait. Smile

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 16/03/2013 08:46

I'm not seeing my midwife till 11 April when I'll be 18+1 as she's on holiday for 2 weeks. My 20 week scan is on 25 April when I'll be 20+1, the day before I go on holiday! I think I'll be finding out the sex this time.
But like getting another scan on Friday for some measurements. Lucky me! Smile

BinarySolo · 16/03/2013 09:42

I've fallen down the steps in my back garden this morning. It's about 6 or7 stone flags. I landed on my back and have hurt my shoulder and hip to top of my leg on my left hand side. Dh asked if I needed to go to hospital and I said no as I'm not carrying the baby in my bum! I do feel worried now tho. Have gone back to bed with pain and am trying to take comfort in the fact that even the duck egg in my pocket on the side I fell is fully intact. Wish I had a Doppler.

I'll be 22 weeks by the time I get my next scan on 24th April - so unfair they're making me wait so long! We're planning to find out too, DP's choice, he wants to 'plan'. Am seeing midwife on Friday though. Is it right we'll get to hear heartbeat again at that appointment? Hope so - now most of my symptoms have gone, my fatter tum is the only thing to tell me I'm still pregnant - and I'm still not convinced that's not mostly fat! Does anyone else feel like this or is it just me being a neurotic fool?!

Badguider, I hate shopping too. Went in a couple of weeks ago and bought one pair of trousers for work...and that's it. A friend said she'd give me a load of tops though so I'm hoping to have to do as little as possible. For maternity gear anyway, guess I'll have to bite the bullet soon to get all the baby gear!

WaggyBlueElf · 16/03/2013 09:51

Cross post Binary, sorry about your fall, sure you're right and the baby will be fine though. Everything I've read says it's very, very well protected in there. Hope you're not too sore though.

MeanMrsMustard · 16/03/2013 09:53

Heya.
I had my 16 week midwife appointment last Wednesday. I didnt see the same lady as on my booking in. I had my blood pressure taken, and gave a urine sample and that was that. I managed to ask a few questions at the end.
My 20 wk scan is on April 15th. It's the very last day they can do the anomaly scan as I'm on holiday the previous 2 weeks.
I'm getting to the point where I'm worrying again! It's 3.5 weeks since last scan and I've not really got a bump or felt any movement yet. I'm tempted to buy a Doppler. Is that getting a bit over obsessive?

MeanMrsMustard · 16/03/2013 10:00

Crossed post with binary and Waggy.
Hope you're ok Binary. I'm sure everything is fine.

Waggy, they didn't check for the heartbeat at my appointment. Although the first midwife i saw at my booking in implied that she would. (well, she'd said that she wouldn't get the Doppler out at 8 weeks as it was unlikely to pick anything up. I took that as meaning she would use a Doppler in a more established pregnancy) I think it's down to luck of the midwife.

fl0b0t · 16/03/2013 10:40

Binary try not to panic!!! I'm sure you'll be fine.

I have bought some Beck Blue non-alcoholic beers to watch the rugby with later, but not sure if i fancy them at the moment. The throat infection + sickness is not good :(

Having some cornflakes with ice cold milk right now which rocks. I am currently wasting away my weekend sitting on the sofa- boring! :(

badguider · 16/03/2013 10:45

binary - at my scan the baby was all curled up and the sonographer had me do all sorts to try to wake it up and nothing worked. I did star jumps and banged my hips/bum of the table and it didn't even flinch.
I am sure your wee one will be fine after your fall on your bum, it's in a sack of fluid remember.

Wincher · 16/03/2013 11:11

One small glass of wine on a friday night is definitely enough for me at the moment - I enjoy every sip but sometimes I can't even finish it. There have definitely been some evenings this week when I have wished I could have a drink after a long hard day with a toddut !

Creamtea1 · 16/03/2013 11:19

Morning ladies. Bit of worrying going on here too - I thought I had previously felt some flutters, a few times a day. But the last 2-3 day have not felt a thing - and have tried cold drink, choc, concentrating on it etc. maybe the feelings before we're just tummy/colon related?!

jennimoo · 16/03/2013 11:57

I felt movement early on then what seemed like nothing for days at a time. I think it depends what position the baby and you are in and luck! After being a teeny bit worried all was well and good clear heartbeat for MW on Tuesday.
And massive kicks after devouring a kitkat chunky on Wednesday!

Manoodledo · 16/03/2013 12:07

I've also only been feeling baby move every few days. That will change in the next wee while no doubt. Thankfully the horrendous stretching pains and back ache from yesterday are largely gone, I was starting to wonder if I should be worried it was so painful.

20 week scan is on 15 April and next midwife appointment is at 17 weeks on 27 March. Seriously hoping she'll listen for the heartbeat.

astroming · 16/03/2013 12:09

Eeek we have that too and a million pass the parcels and a pinata of which i suddenly woke up at 4am this morning thinking where the hell can i hang the bloody thing! Secretly excited about eating lots a delicious food tho.

Good luck with yours:-)

BinarySolo · 16/03/2013 12:54

Thanks everyone for the reassurance. It hurts to sit down! I'm guessing that if I managed not to smash the egg then the baby with all of my padding should be quite safe.

Think I've felt the odd baby movement, but shan't panic if I don't feel any for a while as this early it's very hit and miss, like someone else said, it must depend on where they're lying.

Becks blue is very good. Tastes like proper lager. Excellent with pizza I find...

WaggyBlueElf, I feel the same, ,my tiredness is nearly gone, I dont feel sick and my booblets arent sore anymore!! The only thing I have is an extanded belly! Though that could be cheese and chocolate!!!

Hopefully alls ok and its normal!

fl0b0t · 16/03/2013 15:05

Binary I believe beer and pizza and rugby is the plan!

Kimjayne I have sympathy for you with the cold and coldsore- I still have a horrible throat and cold-fluey type symptoms. I have been cheered massively by doing the big reveal today (it's not official til it's on facebook etc). With a cute picture of the baby bunny booties I bought :)

andadietcoke · 16/03/2013 18:52

They are very cute booties fl0 and a great idea for an announcement photo Smile

I've hit a new pregnancy low today. Very (very) nearly fainted in New Look in the queue. Dumped the clothes at the till and just managed to get outside to a bench to sit down and then was spectacularly sick. No bins, and nothing to do except try and hold it in while people walked past. The girls in New Look were lovely when I eventually got back in and offered me somewhere to sit down and water.

Note to self (and others) one slice of peanut butter and toast and a bag of wotsits is clearly not enough to get you through to 5pm.

chocciemousse · 16/03/2013 18:53

Hi Ladies. I haven't been on here a while as have been very ill. This definitely wasn't what I expected for pregnancy. Where is that 'glow' everyone tends to talk about? I too am beginning to become a bit anxious now wondering if the baby is ok after barely keeping anything down the past 2 months. I have been thinking about booking in for a private scan just for reassurance. Can anyone recommend anywhere to go in London for a private scan?

jennimoo · 16/03/2013 19:17

Chociemousse - sorry you've been feeling so ill, have you got a date for your nhs scan yet? Sorry I can't help with recommendations.

After feeling just about well for a couple of days after getting over the fluey thing I have yet another bug. Just a cold but feel really rough. Stated in bed most of the day but stupidly went our car shopping with DH and DD and only just made it home before spectacularly puking on the drive way. I don't think drinking a can of tango was a good idea...

nerual · 16/03/2013 20:31

Hey choccie, sorry you have been feeling so rough. I pm'd you a couple of london scan places I've been to in the past, hope it helps.

chocciemousse · 16/03/2013 20:50

Thank you Nerual. Thanks
Jen my nhs scan isn't until 15th April and my midwife appt is at 20 weeks also which is no help. Sorry to hear you are also ill. Can your get your doc to prescribe you any antibiotics?

BinarySolo · 16/03/2013 21:07

Sorry you're feeling so rough, choccie.

I'm so sore. Sitting and getting dressed hurts, as does standing, walking and undressing! Just glad dh didn't tell me to be careful, as I may have had to of killed him...

Ion, I've discovered morrisons mocktails and am currently enjoying a mojoto. They also do piña colada and strawberry dacharis. 2 mixer size bottles for £1.

After practically no mention of the baby since I told the kids a few weeks ago (I think they'd forgotten!), DS1 (6) has been full of questions. He also said 'When the baby's born I will be rejoicing' and then 'What does rejoicing mean?' Lol, don't know where he got that from. He's been very sweet today though.

KamikazeeKid · 16/03/2013 22:58

whyriskit how long did they let you go into labour and were you induced or did you naturally go into labour? I was induced, Sorry for all the questions!
My cons said if go for vbac I'll be heavily monitored and not allowed to labour long if not progressing quick enough but didn't or wouldnt define what was quick enough! Id hate for it to all end ina rushed emcs like last time....plenty of time to think about it I guess!
