Oh. Mcflurry!! I would love one. My mw told me to stay away though...no idea why :-/ DP is insistent that I don't have one now, he's a worrier!!

BinarySolo · 12/03/2013 17:45

I think it's a soft whipped ice cream thing. More chance of bacteria etc.

Ohhhhh malt loaf....you are all torturing me on my journey home!

Readytosettle · 12/03/2013 18:00

I went for Cadburys Caramel....can definitely recommend! There's no way I could get through the summer without Mr Whippy....besides Maccy D's will be processed to within an inch of it's life so I can't imagine it being capable of causing any harm!

Hi everyone!

Lovely to hear all the lovely scan news and stats results.

I'm still buzzing from announcing our news to DHs family on Sunday. We stuck a copy of our scan picture inside his Mums's Mothers Day card which we gave to her just as everyone ws gathering around the buffet table. We let her work it out and then just let the news ripple round the room to all the other relatives. Cue much screaming and crying all round! I was shaking afterwards and so happy!

Anyone still keeping their news secret or get any good news sharing stories to tell? We have some more groups to share with so just giving some thought to it now

kimjayne · 12/03/2013 18:50

There must be an ice cream craving in the water! I 100% need a magnum Ice lolly (ideally white choc). Not passing any shops on my way home though :( gutted doesn't even begin to describe how Im feeling!

Creamtea1 · 12/03/2013 18:52

I did stick to the food rules with my first preg..not so much the second...not really at all this 3rd time ! Blush

MrsMc82 · 12/03/2013 19:07

Hi ladies :).... just wondering if anyone else is really itchy? ..... figure its ok to ask this as we've already covered poo, thrus, moist-ness etc. ... so yeah am itchy all over chest and tummy in particular. .... don't remember this from when was pg with ds..... any others???

fl0b0t · 12/03/2013 19:20

triple rock that sounds so cute! :)

creamtea I am having a little weeny glass of wine to celebrate being 13 wks and not 12.... and have made big fat paella :)

badguider · 12/03/2013 19:28

the thing about staying away from soft whippy ice cream is because the nosels (sp?) are often dirty and can harbour bacteria.
i wouldn't buy one from a man with a van, but i do believe that mcds will have really robust cleaning processes and proceedures. say what you like about them, they've got their kitchen hygeine pretty good.

badguider · 12/03/2013 19:30

apologies for that barely literate post by the way Blush my cold is really getting to me - waiting for a thai curry to try to clear the tubes out, i feel like the man in the iron mask! Angry

jennimoo · 12/03/2013 19:40

I think they've loosened up the 'no mr whippy' rule now anyway, but not certain. Do fancy a mcflurry myself and don't know if it have ever had one before! There's a drive through right near work though so maybe tomorrow....

frogchops · 12/03/2013 19:40

Yes, she said mcflurrys, ice cream sundaes, whippy vans were all out. For some reason she said strawberry stuff at McDonald's was the worst ???

nerual · 12/03/2013 19:52

nhs website seems to suggest soft ice cream is fine as long as made with pasteurised milk...interestingly also says sushi fine to eat!!
here

frogchops · 12/03/2013 19:55

Ohh!! This changes things!! Lovely find!!

MammaGnomes · 12/03/2013 20:15

Hey guys, got my scan tomorrow soooo nervous!!
I stopped taking folic acid last week as it was making me really sick and now I'm mega worrying I have caused some damage!

My mw said stay away from mr whippy ice creams and mac d milkshakes as the containers that hold them don't get cleane out properly!

Seem to have a developed a craving for coke which I am trying to limit my self to as I don't like a lot of caffeine as a rule, any one else had any cravings yet? Thought I was too early for it but its defo more of an urge than a want!!

CharlW1 · 12/03/2013 20:19

Just catching up with the thread and now have huge mcflurry cravings!

triplerock I loved how you told DHs family! such a good way to do it Smile

mrsmc I haven't had itchiness but I was catching up with my sisters at the weekend who both have children and they both said they suffered Keith itching - at this stage I thinks it's the skin stretching and just reacting to your changing shape

CharlW1 · 12/03/2013 20:20

with rather than Keith!

Creamtea1 · 12/03/2013 20:24

flo that sounds lovely, I had a paella at the weekend too!
I know the mcF was naughty but it was so very nice! Will have to stick up on Ben n jerrys etc now for further ice cream cravings.

Im still waiting for my slapped cheek blood test results, think I will phone up tomorrow to chase.

Kittenkatzen · 12/03/2013 20:25

nerual sushi is fine as long as the fish has been previously frozen. I'm a massive fan so have investigated this a bit - basically supermarket sushi is ok, but most of the "nicer" places (Itsu, Wasabi, Yo Sushi etc) and especially proper sushi restaurants use only the freshest fish (obviously) but that is off limits sadly as it hasn't been frozen. The exception is Itsu who do use pre-frozen tuna (but NOT salmon).

No idea on the mr whippy stuff though- or why the strawberry one wild be any worse than the others?

triplerock that's so lovely Smile. When we told people I had lots of fun just casually dropping it into general conversation and then watching their faces as realisation dawned.....eg my brother offered DH & I lunch so I replied with "that would be lovely, I am eating for two after all....." Grin. We did something similar for most people, was lots of fun!

Kittenkatzen · 12/03/2013 20:30

Oh and mrsmc yes to the itching - I'm covering myself in thick body butter every morning but find my skin is still dry and itchy by lunchtime. Might have to start taking it to work with me!

andadietcoke · 12/03/2013 20:45

kimjayne and frogchops asked the registrar about folic acid and I'm carrying on with it, and at the higher dose. Glad I've got loads left now! Completely contradicts what I was told last time though. Starting low dose aspirin today too.

Creamtea1 · 12/03/2013 20:56

coke I have to take the low dose aspirin too for high BP. Not that I remember it every day, more like every other.

EmmaDee · 12/03/2013 21:12

Mrsmc I've got crazy itchiness too, mostly on my shins, been frantically moisturising but to no avail!
