P.S. congrats Ready! X

Kitten I bet your baby didn't even wake up - we had to try to wake mine in the scan cause it was too curled up to measure and I had to bump my hips hard on the table, jump around, do star jumps, go to the toilet... and it barely stirred :)

fl0b0t · 12/03/2013 11:47

ready me too! But I've been brought forwards a week (or just a big baby?!) and now due 17th Sept!

Eeeee!
Nuchal looked good too at 1.6, but having combined blood tests so waiting til next week before blurting to all.

Scan was literally amazing. The sonographer was lovely and kind and really skilled- he ploned the sonograph (?) right on FACE straight away, then heartbeat, then belly and legs. He also gave us three prints for the price of two (and all different when we were told it would be the same!). Baby was jumping about face up face down, left right back front every time the sonographer squished my tummy a little. We were in for about 15 minutes and it was beautiful. I'm in cloud nine.... now to see the kitchen man and get an amazing deal...... right?!?

kitten sorry to hear about your fall- but everyone is right, baby will be awesomely fine and probably didn't even notice! And yes you're also right, there's nothing worse than knowing you're being daft but can't stop anyway!

badguider · 12/03/2013 11:47

hetty - i've got a cold too... about a week now, but i've decided to really rest today to try to shift it. I'm doing a bit of laptop work but mostly watching tv.
I feel better in the day but shocking at night when my nose blocks, blocked nose means i mouth breathe which means my throat gets all nasty... and green gunk down into my lungs :(

Lots of rest and fluids today... might not even get dressed.

andadietcoke · 12/03/2013 12:01

Scan 2 done, just waiting for my consultant appt now. One baby is a fair bit bigger than the other (since Friday?!) with an NT of 2.1 and measuring 14+0 whereas the other twin is about 20mm smaller with an NT of 1.6. So not bad numbers given the gestational age. Back in 2 weeks for a 16w scan to check they're both growing. One was still a bit curled up and one stretching so I think the CTR measurements are a bit dodgy. Both previous scans have put me at 13+4 today.

So far I've been at the hospital for 3.5 hours and still have the consultant appt to go. Bored, tired and hungry.

jemimahpuddleduck · 12/03/2013 12:05

Another one here with a cold. Went to the pharmacy yesterday and they said I could have olbas oil which has helped did it in water and put it on my pillow.

Lovely to hear good scan news and NT results had mine through measured 1.6 and had a risk of 1:56854.

I'm officially on the second trimester tomorrow feels like a milestone.

Kittenkatzen · 12/03/2013 12:46

Hurray for all the good scan news - so lovely to read about it from everyone :)

jemimah woopwoop for the second trimester - mine starts on Thursday and I'm unnecessarily excited about it for some reason - makes me feel "properly" pregnant, rather than just a little bit pregnant! As does wearing my baby on board badge on the train. Such a loser.....!

Sympathies to all with colds, sending you mental lemsip/day nurse vibes as you can't have the real thing!

kimjayne · 12/03/2013 12:48

after seeing everyone elses results for Nuchal I am really tempted to call and ask for the stats on mine? I know we are classed as low risk but for some reason I can't help but wonder what the numbers are?

Anyone else in this predicament? Or did most people get their stats within your letters?

JoCheshire10 · 12/03/2013 12:52

What a morning-had my 12 wk scan and it was amazing to see the little one jumping around. It spent the first part of the scan sitting in its head...but soon moved Grin

It was amazing! Hope all the other Tuesday scans went well

badguider · 12/03/2013 12:53

I still don't have any results from my NT - just the knowledge that if i was high risk they'd have phoned me early last week. Confused

chocciemousse · 12/03/2013 13:15

Yay for all of the great scan news today ladies!

Creamtea1 · 12/03/2013 13:18

I think the high risk / low risk information is enough - the numbers are good but sometimes still causes worry - comparing to previous pregnancies or other people etc, wondering why you were 1 in thousands last time and only hundreds this time? At least with just the low risk declaration you can't worry/stress about the actual numbers.
Bloody freezing today!

kimjayne · 12/03/2013 14:16

Thanks Creamtea - think you might be right to be honest. It just made me worry when I saw everyone else receiving the exact numbers .. then all I got was 'low risk". In my irrational mood I automatically assumed this was a bad sign and panicked.

Anyway, in other (more positive) news. I have just visited Debenhams and invested in my first piece of maternity clothing (some dark skinny jeans) and also some black maternity tights! ... Best things I have ever bought. So so comfy! Would highly recommend!

Readytosettle · 12/03/2013 14:31

Ooh, I def need maternity tights! Currently still wearing my 'secret slimmer' tights & all that sucking in stuff was great when I wasn't preggers but downright torturous now my bump is growing!

fl0b0t · 12/03/2013 14:37

I'm looking forwards to letting it all hang out really! Big comfy tents dresses, a few maternity leggings (once belly gets big enough to bother!). I find I start the day feeling slim and unpregnant, then stuff my face all day to curb nausea and then end up feeling bloated and massively pregnant by the evening!

frogchops · 12/03/2013 14:50

Congrats on all the super scan news!! Two people today have just come out and asked me when I'm due. It's not common knowledge yet so took me by suprise! The people were shocked that I'm only 12 weeks. Feeling massive and clearly looking massive. Confused

Readytosettle · 12/03/2013 15:01

Just got myself a mcflurry & a coke from Maccy D's en route to a meeting (I have NEVER had the urge to do that before!)....if I carry on at this rate I'll be busting out of my clothes in days....

Creamtea1 · 12/03/2013 15:52

Just IMMEDIATELY had to ask DH to get me a mcflurry on his way home from work!!

Eeeknumber3 · 12/03/2013 15:55

The lady in the paper shop jus said to me, oooo how many weeks left? Clearly I look more pregnant than I am....

EmmaDee · 12/03/2013 16:02

Hello all, brilliant about the good scan news!!

Today is my first day back in the office after a year out on site, spent an hour thismorning trying to find something to wear that didn't make me look like a heffer! I miss my site clothes!!!

Was gonna play it cool and not tell anyone, but have managed to blurt it out to most of the office now!!!

Ah well 12 weeks is a hell of a long time to keep a secret!!

badguider · 12/03/2013 16:08

I might have to ask dh to get olbas oil on his way home from work.... but would prefer a mcflurry!

Kittenkatzen · 12/03/2013 16:21

I want a mcflurry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So need to get some maternity tights - am managing at the moment by cutting the waistband on my regular tights Blush

Creamtea1 · 12/03/2013 16:30

Omg I am right this second eating a cadburys caramel dairy milk mcflurry....mmmmm...as my 6 yr old ds would say - its epic!!! :)

BinarySolo · 12/03/2013 16:40

Saw the midwife this afternoon. As I thought I'm nowhere near sick enough to get any treatment. She suggested the dreaded ginger biscuits and seabands. Thing is I'm not really that queasy.

Got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time tho which was lovely.

Really fancy some lemon cheesecake.
