Still waiting in assessment. Been sick 3 times since I came. I need drugs!!

pinkmoonlight · 04/03/2013 21:42

Thinking of you chickpea and haylebop Thanks xxx

Topslou · 04/03/2013 22:02

I'm going to be 11+6 when I have my scan bronze. I'd ask again if I were you and hope you get a different receptionist.

Food is proving a bit of a nightmare here too. Some days I have to force myself to eat as not at all hungry and then other days I can't stop eating. Im also throwing lots of food away as start it then can't finish it. Don't think I've managed a whole cup of tea for about 2 weeks either. Hoping it will balance itself out soon.

thethreeblondies · 04/03/2013 22:10

Just seen advert for a lush lookibg cheesy/buttery (lurpark ad) macaroni cheese! Yep I want it want it now and once I've had it won't want it again!Grin

SeriousStuff · 04/03/2013 22:24

At the moment, I'm managing cornflakes for breakfast (but not too much milk as it's turning on me a bit), ham sandwiches for lunch (sneaking some tomato and cucumber in there for nutrition!) then my husband is cooking dinner most evenings now as I can eat most things as long as I don't have to prepare them. Seeing and smelling raw food whilst cooking makes me sick, but once it's in my mouth (and it's not too spicy or meaty) I'm good!

Things I've made my husband buy, I ate once and is now going spare, includes:

  • Tomato juice
  • Fish fingers
  • Cheese
  • Beetroot and horseradish soup (we have a freezer full!)
  • Lime cordial
  • Tuna
roxvox · 04/03/2013 22:40

I had a brainwave the other day that for lunch I should be eating a particular sandwich every day (it sounded brilliant at the time). So I bought a loaf of bread (we don't normally have bread in the house), a jar sliced gherkins, 2 packs of pastrami, 2 packs of leerdammer (sp?) cheese, a huge jar of mustard mayo and a jar of sauerkraut. I managed half a sandwich on the first day, and the rest of that sandwich went in the bin. Everything else above is now sat in the fridge going off. I think DH is despairing a bit! I am so glad now I know it's not just me though.

Bronzemoth · 04/03/2013 23:26

Haylebop have they sorted you yet?

Haylebop12 · 04/03/2013 23:49

I've got my cannula in so just waiting for drip and drugs. Not on ward yet. There's another lady next to me same problem! Think they're dead busy. I need sleep, and fanta!

Iheartcrunchiebars · 05/03/2013 06:54

Roxvox and Flyer fear not you can still eat Stilton. The nhs guidelines say its fine. It's other blue cheeses like Danish blue, Gorgonzola etc to avoid.

How was your night Haylebop?

Natalieand · 05/03/2013 07:28

Re:DTD think dh may have sneaked a peak at our thread from my iPad or something has just had a morning treat TMI lol not the full DTD but enough to get us through til 12 week scan maybe lol.

hayle poor you! Sounds awful Hun hope they get you hooked up to drugs (of the good kind) ASAP!

Boy this cold is really getting me down had it since Saturday and every night I go to bed I think right its gunna feel better at least a bit by the morn but then it goes and gets worse over night! Had it since sat now :-( and since I sold my car last week I've been having to walk the playschool run (50 min return journey) kinda seems pointless when she's there ony 3 hours but getting a new car today dh and I paid a deposit on it yesterday a shiny 2005 ford focus in silver.

Good luck with your scan today chickpea will be keeping everything crossed for u, let us no how u get on if u feel up to it xxxx

Rockchick1984 · 05/03/2013 07:56

Good luck Chickpea I hope everything's fine Thanks

Re DTD we are still at it (not as much, but not TTC now!!) I'm way too tired most of the time when we go to bed but TMI we are doing it once DS is in bed, or at the weekend when he naps Blush

Last pregnancy we hardly did it the entire time and I really don't want that again - first time post-birth was scary enough never mind first time in months as well!

Ugh, the tiredness descended last night - I had friends round and all of a sudden about 9pm I wanted to go to bed!! They left around 10 and I immediately went to bed and started snoring lol! Still shattered this morning, if it's anything like last time this will last til 14 weeks then I'll be happy and perky temporarily :)

Flyer747 · 05/03/2013 09:31

Good luck with your scan today chickpea I've everything crossed for you

Smitten1981 · 05/03/2013 09:35

Hi everyone

I'm 7+3 today and the nausea kicked in on Friday, haven't actually felt so bad that I'm near being sick yet though, phew! I guess there's still time though...

I had my booking in appt last Wednesday, which I thought was really early. First scan booked for 8 April.

I just read that you can't eat Parma ham, please tell me this isn't true, I've been having it every day in a sandwich with Leerdammer and mustard, it's all I want to eat. That and jacket potatoes.

I've been reading this thread for a while now, so thought I should join in rather than lurk.

PseudoBadger · 05/03/2013 09:37

Hi smitten, I'm 7+4 and also got nausea (and vomiting ) since Friday. Fun eh! My scan is the 6th April (day after my birthday) and booking in is next Tuesday.
Parma is on the no list I'm afraid :(

Umlauf · 05/03/2013 09:38

Morning, chickpea hope your scan has gone swimmingly and keeping fingers crossed.

I've just ordered some maternity jeans from asos as they do free delivery to Spain. I have a huge bum though so its hard finding jeans to fit as the best of times, not looking good for these!

Bump definitely starting, in the morning (pre food) and with tummy sucked in there is still a little protrusion. I'm 10+1 and its my first so shocked by the early showing!

Also had a strange new symptom yesterday. The most painful lower back, EVER. I got off the sofa and couldn't walk, my legs gave way beneath me. It was very scary and there was lots of panic and crying. Fine this morning though. I had an operation for scoliosis in 2010 and don't know whether that's connected. Dr google tells me scoliosis mums almost always have a c section, but here in Spain you can't choose a c section. So I have a new irrational fear of dying in labour. Thing about going to the UK to give birth but then it'd be so sad if DH wasn't there, my mum would be but she'd only make it more stressful.

Sorry for another mememe post as I know my worries pale into insignificance really compared to what some of you are going through, just nowhere else to 'air' it!

Hope you're feeling better today haylebop and the drugs are doing their thang. The end of trimester 1 is in sight so hopefully it will ease off for you eventually!

Haylebop12 · 05/03/2013 09:43

Morning ladies,

chickpea best of luck to you today x

Re: Dtd, only twice since BFP and that hasn't been in the last few weeks. I just can't, no energy, constant nausea ect.

Well I ended up staying in the assessment ward. No space on the wards but might get on there today. Finally got my drip and drugs at 2:30am. Woke at 9 so missed breakfast. They were letting me sleep apparantly even though the idea is I should start eating an drinking again Hmm docs just been round and was gonna stop my fluids (had 3 litres now) but after checking my urine she said I needed more. Possibly staying another night this time however.

When really things supposed to get better......?

TheFalconsmistress · 05/03/2013 09:57

Glad you are getting the fluids you need haylebop

I am actually showing too umlauf but im a size 18 finding maternity clothes is a bit of a problem.

Today im exhusted sickness came back a little yesterday and my boobs started to become sensitive bit better today. I cant believe im 10 + 3 and my scans so far away 3 weeks today Sad I am getting impatient I have a huge fear of nothing being there Sad

Umlauf · 05/03/2013 10:02

Mines 2 and a half weeks away falcon and I sympathise! Have you had a scan yet or will it be your first?

roofio87 · 05/03/2013 10:18

smitten according to the nhs website pregnant women are not advised to avoid parma ham in the UK as the risk of getting anything from it is so low,but in other countries its a no no so its boarder line!! its up to you really,I'm not being too cautious of all these rules!!

hayleybop so sorry you're in again,I really can't imagine how tough this must be for you!!

I'm 9 weeks today and don't have my scan date yet!! got my booking in tomorrow morning so hopefully I'll know then!! still feel very much the same here, exhausted and nauseous, but only actually been sick twice so not bad really!!

hope you're all well today xx

TheFalconsmistress · 05/03/2013 10:19

I was lucky to get a scan at 8+ 5 umlauf I still worry even though all was good Sad

Smitten1981 · 05/03/2013 10:50

Phew, thanks roofio, I think I'll keep eating it as my sarnies are the only things that stops the nausea for an hour or so. I'm not going to go mental with all the rules, I'd be scared of eating everything.

hayleybop You must be feeling horrid, I'd hate to be in hospital hope they let you out soon.

star87 · 05/03/2013 12:33

Hi all,

Hope everything goes ok for your scan today chickpea

Sorry to hear your still not well hayleybop

Just trying to catch up on the updates and I wasn't around at the weekend!! Hope everyone else is ok.

My nausea is becoming a right pain in the bum!! I am off all food :( I get about 10minutes a day where I feel completely normal so I each as much as I can before feeling sick again.

I've not had any real cravings, although I did just get a massive urge to each marzipan!!

I struggling not to tell work, I'm pretty sure it will be obvious soon enough. Am just about to go and tell my sister :) She has gone through lots of different things during her pregnancies so I am sure she can offer some great advice.

I weighed myself this morning and have put on nearly half a stone since friday!! I will be the size of a house at this rate. I'm only little as it is, so if I continue people will be able to tell soon enough!

Sorry for the ramble. The other half is away this week so haven't really had anyone to talk to about it all. xxx

BowlFullofJelly · 05/03/2013 13:03

My gosh you guys can talk! Have been travelling and very busy since last Monday so have done my best to catch up but my word there is a lot! And we are onto baby names already???? There is a lot of October babies as well -here's hoping there is enough midwives for us all!

10+2 today and feeling really good!! Nausea gone, got eating under control and although more tired than normal not the sweeping exhaustion of the first few weeks. So odd that I'm a quarter of the way there.

Not sure I'm actually showing - but moved into my maternity jeans last week Blush. My only 'fat' jeans finally gave way at the thigh (nice), don't want to buy more fat jeans, so maternity ones it was. And my god they are comfy! Maternity wear does extenuate the tummy though - and have definitely had a few sly glances to my tummy from colleagues while away last week, and my boss yesterday! Oh well, as long as no one actually asks me, forcing me to lie, I don't care if they guess - not long before I can let it all hang out Grin.

Booking in appointment isn't until 14th when I'll be 11+4, and can't book scan until after that appointment, so the lord only knows when that will be. Saw the bean at 8+6 though so trying not to get too stressed - we don't want the nuchal fold test anyway.

JellyCurls · 05/03/2013 13:34

afternoon ladies. 10+0 today (I think) and feeling exhausted still. No bump yet Smile so still in my own clothes with room to grow. Hoping to get to at least 16 weeks before entering comfy zone but just need to wait and see. No weight gain either which is good but think my BMI puts me at 25 so no weight gain just now is good in my eyes. Eating for all the ladies who are sick and unable to eat I think so weight gain will no doubt catch me up in next few weeks.

Hope scan went well chick and sending get well soon hugs to hayle
