sorry chickpea xxxx

Bronzemoth · 04/03/2013 13:54

So sorry Chickpea.

roxvox · 04/03/2013 14:06

So sorry Chickpea. All could be ok, but please make sure you rest up as soon as you can. I hope all goes well tomorrow xx

Sal1977 · 04/03/2013 14:31

I'm sure one of the other ladies had some dark bleeding and a large clot come out in the shower and everything was ok after the scan. I reckon she'll be on to tell you about it soon I'm sure.

Get home as soon as you can though lovely and keep your pecker up!!

pinkbuttons · 04/03/2013 14:31

Need some advice please ladies. Have just had a call to say my scan date has been change back to the 18th March. My midwife last week told me that my scan date of 2nd April may be too late if first scan wasnt fully accurate. Problem is if it is accurate then Ill only be 10+6 for my scan... Have just tried to call up but receptionist was extremely unhelpful and said that the clinic is now booked until mid April and they wont change it unless its an emergency Hmm Im worried if I go and its too early, I wont have the reassurance of seeing all is ok at 12 weeks but I also dont want to argue with the receptionist.. what would you do?

SeriousStuff · 04/03/2013 14:56

Can I join ladies? I'm 8+4 (I think!) with DC1. So due date is probably 10 October.

First of all, Chickpea, I know I've read the same symptoms from other threads on MN and they went on to have healthy babies. It's great that you have a scan tomorrow so until then, just try and get some rest.

pinkbuttons I'm the same, my scan is on the 19th when I'll be roughly 10+5. I asked the question on a different thread and they said the only reason they would call me back for another scan is if they couldn't see everything properly. Apparently it might be a geographical thing as to at which week they scan you. Just think though, if they call you back, you get to see your baby twice!

I've already seen my baby twice because I had to go to A&E early on (thought I might have an ectopic pregnancy...I don't!). I'm currently on my second week of nausea (but no vomiting) and literally in the middle of a migraine! I'm usually a very strong, resilient person, but my pg is really exposing my weak, self-pitiful side!

HotSoupDumpling · 04/03/2013 15:09

chickpea, thinking of you. Hope you have managed to leave work and get horizontal for some quality rest time.

Wispa123 · 04/03/2013 15:54

Hi, oooo loving the baby name chat! We're finding boys names much harder than girls for some reason. Top 3 for girls at the moment are Alice, Olivia and Emily. I like Oscar and Isaac for a boy but DH not convinced.....yet!

Apart from the frequent hunger pangs and unbeliveable tiredness my pregnany symptoms are definitely reducing. Hope that's normal, sounds like it is from previous comments. What's hit me today though is awful flu symptoms that I think are a side effect of the flu jab I had last Friday. Feel rubbish and the only thing i seem to be able to take is paracetamol. Got Vicks vapour rub smoothered all over though!

Willow is a beautiful name and I see no reason why anyone would shorten it to Willie. I imagine a Willow to be such a lovely little person!

Natalieand · 04/03/2013 16:00

Awe so sorry to hear that chickpea try and be positive and hopefully everything goes well at tommorow a scan for you!

On the topic of DTD hubby and I haven't done it since BFP I also like whoever mentioned MC (can't remember who sorry) panic it could cause a MC so I think ill just hold off till the 12 weeks park which is 4 weeks Wednesday so not that long really!

Lovely sun in this part of the country too :-)

slippysnow · 04/03/2013 16:17

Hiya, chickpea sending you positive thoughts.
. 6 weeks today feel really behind everyone :( scans April 15th, booking appointment April 2nd. Luckily dp can come to both.

Is anyone avoiding peanuts? And what's the situation with fried egg that are well cooked but have slightly runny middles?

Pannacotta2013 · 04/03/2013 16:25

Oh chickpea how miserable and frightening. Just call the appointments you are covering and cancel them, this is a medical emergency Sad.

On the nookie front, I have really not felt like it - too nauseous and icky, didn't want anything touching my tummy. I suddenly felt up for it on Sunday and goodness me it was quite something. Not sure if its because of hormones, nerves, or just weeks of going without but was pretty intense. I'm nearly 9 weeks so wondering if it's the beginning of super sexy second trimester times? Fingers crossed! Grin

pinkbuttons · 04/03/2013 16:42

Hi seriousstuff thankyou and welcome! glad to hear your in the same position will stop worrying.
We have DTD a few times since BFP but havent enjoyed it maybe because Im worrying so much. Looking forward to the extra feeling Grin

Hope you were able to get home chickpea let us know how things go tomorrow. Thinking of you.

Haylebop12 · 04/03/2013 16:52

Just a quick update from me. Doc prescribed some different anti sickness this morning, took one and lay down for couple hours, got up bed was sick. Just packing to go back to hosp (wondering which vein they're gonna use this time Hmm)

Carry on chatting and ill catch up later when I'm bored!

thethreeblondies · 04/03/2013 17:44

Hi all had my booking in, all went well the were pleased with how much I'd filled in for them! Senior midwife was very pro sex in pg (I've neglected to tell DH that part when telling him about appointment!) We too haven't dtd since bfp! Had a lovely trainee filling in everything and she asked if I'll be a case study for her, means home appointments all with her and she will be on call for when I go in to labour, sounds lovely to have one to one care so will say yes Grin Won't get an early scan despite mc last year so will need some distractions for next few weeks, sorting out loft should do the job but not very exciting!

Fingers crossed for everyone having scans over next few days x

Feelinghungry · 04/03/2013 17:52

Chickpea sorry to hear you are going through a hard time. I will repeat what a lot of the other ladies have said on here, many mumsnetters have had bleeding and gone to to have healthy DCs. So fx for you.

Haylebop I think you should when soome sort of prize for the worst ms on thisthread. Back to hosp? You poor thing. I hope you manage to get some meds that work for you.

DTD question....I have a few times since bfp and have to agree with some of the other comments on here, def feels more enhanced in that area! Was a bit of an effort to begin with, as feeling so tired, but was def worth it. Felt DH need a bit of attention as it is all me, me, me and how I am feeling.

Names...hmm being a teacher puts you off so many names. You find a nice one then some naughty teenage squirt comes along and destroys it. I have yet to meet a Willow though so that still sounds lovely.

Wickedgirl · 04/03/2013 18:23

DTD.....yes lots

But we were doing it lots before I had a BFP too. It feels good and stops me thinking how sick I feel. Big plus all round!

I am 8 weeks today and still haven't heard from the midwives.

fish88 · 04/03/2013 18:47

Am I the only one DTD as much as we were when TTC Blush Have been doing it pretty much every other day since BFP and both me and OH are loving the new sensations! Although my boobs are strictly off limits but OH is more of an ass man anyway. Sal I'm also having erotic dreams and spasms during the night. I have also found that DTD in the evening seems to clear up my nausea just in time for bed but it may just be the lying down that sorts it out.

Feeling rubbish today - got either cold or hayfever but not allowed to take anything to sort it. Went to the pharmacy after work and she gaver me Vicks vapour rub but wasn't even going to give me that to start with. Paracetamol has been suggested but I'm not in pain, just all bunged up. Any suggestions to clear my nose and give me a better nights sleep tonight?

OrangeBlossom2 · 04/03/2013 19:00

Chickpea thinking of you and fingers crossed for good news tomorrow.

Re dtd, we have only done three times since bfp and i have wanted to more than that but mainly sore boobs, bloated, too tired or too sick. spoons position is good as you don't have to touch any sore areas, don't have to move your head if feeling queazy and can keep pretty still but still get sex! DH says it feels nicer than usual for him, maybe due to increased blood flow to the area or something. Haven't noticed anything different for me but do feel very close and loved up since making a baby together. I do worry about orgasming causing mc despite books saying it is usually ok. Usually isn't good enough! That will have to wait until second trimester. (Sorry tmi!)

Re names, I agree with feelinghungry that as a teacher there are hundreds of children I have taught and not all of them have left a positive impression! There are a few names I have always liked, but we downloaded a free app to go through some more ideas and save a shortlist. I want dh to have an input too" We are not sure you if we want to find out the sex so will have to think of boy and girl names. I like many more girl names and have a feeling at the moment that it will be a girl but I have no idea why.

Bronzemoth · 04/03/2013 19:58

The variation in scans and appointments is very confusing. I finally got a scan date but its for just after we go on holiday for two weeks. Even though ill be 11+6 the day we fly, the receptionist told me that was too early so I've now got to wait till I'm 14 weeks before my first scan when we get back. I'm rather frustrated it seems so long to wait. I think I'm going to have to look into a private scan to check the basics as I'd really like to avoid the risk of something going wrong on holiday.

TheFalconsmistress · 04/03/2013 20:24

Crashed out at 6 when hubs came home so so tired just up and I will be going back soon!

My scan is when im 13+2 3 weeks tomorrow seems an age away

Excited85 · 04/03/2013 20:24

Hi all. Can I join?! Found out was pregnant about 10 days ago, and have booking in apt for late in March. Based on last period I'm around 8 weeks but periods pretty irregular so who knows!
I've been sick for around 2 weeks, same for sore boobs. Have felt awful today, cold and shivery inside, achey back and tummy pain, but then have had fairly strong period pains pretty consistently for last 3 weeks.
Finding it difficult at work as constantly needing to eat - at what point did you all/are you all planning to tell work?

roxvox · 04/03/2013 20:42

Welcome excited85! I can't help you with telling work advice, as I am not planning to tell them until after my 12 week scan. Same goes for family (I know they'll be excited and don't want the extra pressure I know telling them would bring)!

I still haven't had my scan dates through. Like you though Bronzemoth I am going away (home) when I am 12+2 and if I cannot get a scan before then then I will book a private one for that week. I want to be sure that everything is ok before I get my family all excited!

Haylebop I hope you're feeling better soon. Did you get re-admitted?

roxvox · 04/03/2013 20:50

I have never wanted stilton and/or parma ham so much before in my life. I don't think it's a craving so much as a 'wanting what I can't have'. Pretty much everything I see on TV I want (a repetitive one is Special K chocolate).

I seem to be really struggling to enjoy lunch at the minute. I've tried all sorts of varieties (ie sandwiches, salads, toast, couscous, soup) but I rarely finish what I am eating before I feel sick of it. Plus after one lunch time of it, I can't stomach the idea of it again. It's getting quite expensive changing my taste every day! Not to mention the brain power it is taking trying to come up with something different every day. Anyone else the same?

Flyer747 · 04/03/2013 21:06

roxvox- I'm exactly the same, last week it was cheese now I can't stomach it. I buy food for dinner then come the evening time I've totally gone off what I was going to cook!! Weird. Like you say it's getting a tad costly! Hormones eh!

roxvox · 04/03/2013 21:19

Glad it's not just me flyer747. We have always had a few evening meals that are a staple part of my shopping list each week, but it's all completely changed now. I've never had to come up with so many new meals at once before, and it's even more difficult when you're trying to make sure they're all healthy!

Lunch is definitely the worst for me though. Really stuck on what to do next! Hula Hoops are still a definite though Smile
