Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
roofio87 · 03/03/2013 20:03

ah falcon I'm a huge buffy fan too, and Willow is lovely, definitely better than angel or spike!!!
we have a few names being banded about, I have a girls name I love and my dp has a boys name that he loves (and we like each others choices too!) but not sure if my mind will change over the next 7 months!!

Pannacotta2013 · 03/03/2013 20:09

I loved Buffy. Willow is a fab choice. I think I'm having a boy and can't think of any nice boy names - I'll try not to worry about that til I know for sure what I'm getting.

I am not feeling great either. I'm knackered and grouchy. I feel nauseous all the time and just want to eat trashy sugary carby food like cake, biscuits and toast. And yoghurt. So I've put on half a stone Sad. The GP has put me on antibiotics for a cough I've had for about 6 weeks now (my partner made me go - I was sure we'd get shooed away and told we were being silly but she wanted me to take them) and I'm a bit worried about them messing up my digestion even more than it currently is. And I'm a bit irritable. And bored, but got no energy to do anything. Ah well.

I know its all worth it, and there are people who would love to be in my shoes. I'm not taking it for granted but just frustrated with feeling so rubbish. So a shout out to all the other ladies feeling sorry for yourself! You're not alone.

pinkmoonlight · 03/03/2013 20:09

Thank you ladies, this is such a great thread full of lovely people Smile

My boob pain can vary from 0 to about 8 over the course of a day. I will also topple over if they grow any more, they look ridiculous already!

TheFalconsmistress · 03/03/2013 20:18

Sorry your feeling rough panacotta hope you feel better soon!

I think bertie is a lovely name umlauf

Thanks girls I think it will be willow I just love it Grin

Natalieand · 03/03/2013 20:22

Oooo names! I like this talk lol for boys I have absolutely no idea so any name ideas greatly received lol. Girls I have quite a few dd is called honey so I also need something unusual too to with this ATM I'm also liking willow, mollie, lilah, Lola, belle but who knows in 7 months time what I'm gunna decide on xxx what other names do ppl like? Xx

Rockchick1984 · 03/03/2013 20:31

I love Willow but it sounds awful with my surname Sad

I'm thinking Dylan for a boy, although the name I had my heart set on for DS I suddenly went off around 30 weeks so we had to start thinking again - who knows what I'll end up wanting this time!! I like cutey names for a girl eg Daisy, Poppy, Mollie etc but DH isn't keen!

Panacotta I've gained about 4lbs but hadn't lost the weight I put on over Christmas so at least half a stone more than I should be!

Iheartcrunchiebars · 03/03/2013 20:32

I get so excited when thinking about names!

If its a boy it will probably be Ralph, Geoffrey or Dexter. If its a girl Dorothea (Dora) Beatrix (trixy) Delia or Rosalie.

I live Berty. So cute!

Haylebop12 · 03/03/2013 20:54

Ooh I can join in this bit!

Dd is Amelia. Girls I love Harriet and Lydia. Boys are much more difficult... Always liked Samuel but can't have that now. Also like Alfie but very very popular. Isaac and max seem to be top.

Love willow!

pinkbuttons · 03/03/2013 20:59

crunchie I love Ralph but DH doesnt.
Were going to have major issues with names if we have a boy, so part hoping for a girl. I think its a boy though so keep suggesting names to DH. whos only 2 options are his name and DS's name... not helpful. Good job weve got a while to decide Smile

So sorry your feeling so rubbish hayle

roofio87 · 03/03/2013 21:01

hayleybop I love amelia but its my cousins name so a no no!! I like unusual names, none of my choices are in the top 200 names lists!!

Sal1977 · 03/03/2013 21:03

Aww...my best friend just called their baby daughter willow, it's very cute!

We like Freddie, Oscar and Austin (Ozzy) after FIL for a boy and Florence (Flo) and Nelly for a girl! I live hearing other people's name ideas! Beatrix is now going on the list too!

Natalieand · 03/03/2013 21:14

crunchie I'm loving trixy. haylebop our daughter was going to be honey Amelia but my nan sadly passed away a week before she was born so decided as a gesture to my dad I would give her her middle name so she is honey Ann. Thinking back I wish I had gone for honey Amelia Ann but nvm can't change that now lol. What does everyone think of middle names? Dh isn't keen on the idea of middle names he thinks they r pointless but I love my kids to have a middle name I thin it just completes things a little (no offence intended to those not going for middle names) I like Harry for a boy but dh hates it! Agh this name malarkey is so tricky isn't it and I think its even trickier if u have kids already cos the names have to sound half decent together don't they lol xxx sorry for long random post xx

TheFalconsmistress · 03/03/2013 21:22

I love middle names natileland bean will be Willow Skye our surname begins with s too it goes Smile

char1eston · 03/03/2013 21:31

We'll definitely have middle names. Dd has two! She is Florence (Florie). She already has 12 cousins who are Oliver, Joshua, Harry, huw, ivo, Matilda, Joseph, Reuben, ottilie, caspian, Beatrix and daisy. So those are all out.
My great aunt was dorothea (dorrie for short, which I love). Wanted to call dd Amelie but dp was having none of it.
Still finding it hard coming up with boys names. For girls I like iris and maybe Alice but no definites. It's soooo hard. Took us 3 weeks to name dd!

char1eston · 03/03/2013 21:33

Ooh and my dad was called Albert - I would happily call a son that but dp said it could be a middle name Hmm

cazboldy · 03/03/2013 21:44

good news, you ladies who have had scans today Smile

Poor Hayle xx Sad

names are v. tricky here!!! Have traditional names for the boys so far..... James, Harry, Charles (charlie) and so really want another oldie..... but can't agree, and dh has 5 brothers and there are already 8 boy cousins...... and then as I am sure most of you will understand (being lots of teachers on here!) everytime name is suggested, I can usually think of someone who for some reason I could never call my child that name!! lol

Girls would be much easier - but not looking likely as I haven't been sick yet!! Grin

roxvox · 03/03/2013 22:11

Hi all. We've been focusing on boys names too, although not really sure exactly why as every time we inadvertently refer to the gender (I.e. "when SHE is born") we always refer to the little bean as a girl!

cazboldy you have listed 3 of the names top of our list! We've barely discussed it really though! They are just the names that we discussed before even TTC.

Umlauf · 03/03/2013 22:12

Willow is a beautiful name and I am also a massive buffy fan! She was my first style icon with her long leather coat and beige flares and roll neck crop jumpers!

I want at least 2 middle names but DH won't let me. He doesn't have any! Trying to think of a modern girls name to juxtapose with Edie but its difficult. My favourite ever girls name is Delilah but it just has too many negative connotations. Iris and Alice were both on my list too charleston!

Sal1977 · 04/03/2013 03:22

Humph. 3.22am and no one to talk to. Trying to resist making tea and toast....

Sal1977 · 04/03/2013 03:36

Resistance is futile...that didn't last long!!

PseudoBadger · 04/03/2013 06:09

Hope the tea and toast hit the spot!

I have a Dylan - a name I love for a boy is Thomas, but you can't have those 2 names together can you Hmm

cuillereasoupe · 04/03/2013 07:01

The name business is proving complicated here because DP is French and we need something that works in both languages. Problem is, all the things he likes sound terrible / dated in English (baby Stewart anyone? Hmm) and vice versa.

Iheartcrunchiebars · 04/03/2013 07:25

What about Daliah umlauf? Near Delilah and very pretty?

OP posts:
CelticPromise · 04/03/2013 07:56

I love Delilah. Fab name.

We haven't talked about it yet but we have pretty much got top boy and girl names picked from before. If DS is anything to go by we'll write long lists and then choose the favourite anyway. I doubt we'll talk about it much until we know the sex, hopefully at 16 weeks as we have foetal medicine scan booked.

First name will likely be Welsh, middle name for a girl probably after my dear mum, who died last year. No ideas for boy middle names yet.

Ooh exciting!

Umlauf · 04/03/2013 07:57

Dahlia is pretty too crunchiebars will mention it to h2b later!

I've just had a horrible experience at the doctor. I'm in Spain and its a huge doctor surgery, I had an appointment at 8 for blood and urine tests (these are done separately to the booking in) and when I got there we were immediately herded into a long queue. Eventually we got into a room where a nurse just barked at me 'papel' (paper) and I have loads of papers so I handed here my folder! She got cross and started saying stuff really loudly and quickly which I didn't understand, so I said in Spanish, 'I'm sorry but I don't yet speak much Spanish' to which she replied 'Papel, Papel, PAPEL,' over and over again. I understood the bloody word but what bloody paper?

I burst into tears (hormones!) she ignored me and went onto the next person in the queue, DH found the paper and she snatched it from him and gave us a raffle ticket. We then had to wait for my number to come up before going in another room where there were 5 nurses on 5 desks asking blood, that lasted all of 30 seconds. I asked when I'd get the results and she said at the end of March. Still 2 and a half weeks until the first scan and I don't even know if there is an alive baby, or even when its due. My last period was really weird and my symptoms and BFP really early so now wondering if it was implantation bleed and I'm due earlier.

Sorry for the hormonal rambling I just feel so scared and alone. :-( need a Biscuit !
