Here you go. New thread...number 3!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ananikifo · 16/03/2013 17:07

So I looked it up and I can't claim back for what I paid today. Hmm The exemption only starts the day they signed the firm to certify the pregnancy and the GP didn't do that today.

Smitten1981 · 16/03/2013 17:20

Yeah, that is annoying me a bit. I didn't get given the exemption form at the Booking appt and I don't have another midwife appt till 16 weeks, I think. Which is AGES away. Sigh!

TheFalconsmistress · 16/03/2013 18:11

Heartburn has started, boy im not having fun Sad

34PinkLadyApple · 16/03/2013 18:14

I got my exemption card in the post today. Filled the form in at my mw app on march 5th but card is valid from 15th feb?! Going make dentist app after scan as i get it free! Blush

Had a psycho day yesterday panicking about scan on tuesday. I dreamt i had the scan and it was clearly a boy in pinstripe trousers with braces. It all dawned on me that we are actually having the scan on tuesday and im worried like hell something is going to be wrong. Started crying soon as i got home when h2b asked whats up and we ended up rowing over me saying it doesnt help when his mum keeps making and canceling plans around baby when she knows we are holding our breath til scan. We are ok now but wish he could have been more sympathetic rather than saying 'what shall i do? Tell her to shut up??!!!' Yes till after scan was my response . Rant over Blush

TheFalconsmistress · 16/03/2013 18:15

Oh and my anemia is terrible the doc took bloods and im on 600mg of iron a day which is blocking me up sorry for the moan I just feels really ill dizzy and weak Sad

roofio87 · 16/03/2013 18:23

34pinkladyapple yes its frustrating and upsetting me too that the pil are just assuming everything is fine and that the whole world should know I'm pregnant. I probably am and scan will be great, but the pressure doesn't help. I text my mil the other day and said "can't wait for scan, just hope there is a baby in there and they're ok". her response? "it better had be,I can't wait to be a nana again!" I mean, how unthoughtful if something was wrong, heaven forbid it would upset her!! some people don't think!!

34PinkLadyApple · 16/03/2013 19:54

Oh roof! So insensitive. I think they are from the generation where scans werent done or people didnt talk about mc? I am round there again tomorrow, last visit before scan, and i know shes going to asking us to come straight round after with pic of her grandchild. Theyv already cancelled september hol and decided not get a dog as planned this year. Gaaaahhhh

Umlauf · 16/03/2013 20:03

oh roof thats not fair :-( Hope your DH had a quiet word. My Mum has been on and on at me to tell my sister, I told her nicely that I would after the 12 week scan (we´re not that close and I dont want to un-tell her), and last week my sister rang me to say "Mum says you´ve got something important to tell me" so I had to outright lie to her! I understand the excitement but people forget they will be safe and distanced from the huge emotional stuff WE have to deal with if it goes wrong, don´t they?!

pinklady my inlaws have BOOKED a holiday for September. For ALL of september and some of october.... I dont know whether to be pleased or offended!!

char1eston · 16/03/2013 22:14

Wispa - would def try to rearrange if you want to have the nuchal fold test. My friend had her scan at 14+1 and they couldn't do it

CelticPromise · 16/03/2013 22:48

I just wanted to say, anyone who needs a prescription but hasn't got their card yet, try speaking to the pharmacist- I explained this with one and they gave me the prescription free anyway.

Night all. Here's hoping for a quieter night than last night, when I had to get up six times to wee!

moonblues · 16/03/2013 23:22

Falcon so sorry your feeling unwell. Hope you start feeling better soon.

moonblues · 16/03/2013 23:32

Got my booking appointment and scan date through - woohoo!
So have my scan on the 8th April when I'll be 12+6, which is much better than the 16 weeks my GP suggested - phew!
Feeling much better today after my moan yesterday - I think I've just been feeling so rubbish for the last month it was starting to get to me. My DH actually said this afternoon - It's nice to have you back! So hoping that's the worse of the morning sickness over.
How are you today Hayle?

juniper9 · 17/03/2013 02:00

I may be the first one to have their scan but then I am due in September as mine is on Monday morning.

Would be over the moon, but had a scare at work last Wednesday. Turns out a child in my class has slapped cheek syndrome, which can cause miscarriage or feotal death if I have caught it from her. Ended up in floods of tears, then had to go to the hospital to have a blood sample taken. won't have results until next Wednesday. If I've had it before then I should be ok, but I've never even heard of it before becoming pregnant.

To top off my pretty shitty day, I then had to endure two nights of parents' evenings where parents complained about inane crap and I wanted to just scream at them. But I didn't Smile

juniper9 · 17/03/2013 02:01

And my Head told all of the senior leadership team about me being up the duff. There are at least 3 of us off on maternity and she's panicking about filling the roles!

Iheartcrunchiebars · 17/03/2013 06:55

Oh juniper you poor thing. You must have been so worried.

Umlauf you must be fuming with your mum! It's not her news it's yours!

Think I'm finally out of the morning sickness zone now which is lovely. I found my midwife appointment a little random....she said it was really important I have the flu jab, I said fine, but she never gave it to me. Then with the food advice the advice she gave me was 'a basic rule of thumb is font eat anything that's not processed!!!!' Really?? So no fruit, veg, meat?? She also said no shellfish at all when the nhs guidelines say no raw shellfish. If I wasn't online all the time researching I would be completely flummoxed! Plus I've put on 13lbs!!! And she didn't bat an eyelid. I would have thought she would advise me to rein it in a bit!! (No more hula hoops for me!)

Natalieand · 17/03/2013 07:07

Having a mini break down :-( dh snoring has basically kept me awake all night for the last 3 nights along with weekng 4-6 times a night and my 8 year old niece stayed over last night and her and dd appeared at my bedside at 5.30am ready to start the day! I feel like I have been ill ever since my BFP with colds, sore throats, runny noses, a coldsore and now I have a gunky eye. Seriously please tell me week 12 gets easier cos ATM I constantly feel like death :-(

Natalieand · 17/03/2013 07:26

Oh and one other thing to complete my Sunday morning rant, does n e one else have a bloody nose? My nose seems to be realy bloody every time I blow it has been like it for 2-3 weeks now xxx

Hope every one else is feeling cheerful :-)

racheld33 · 17/03/2013 08:26

natalie I have bloody nose every time I blow too, remember it from last pregnancy, think its increased blood flow, so not been too worried.
I am too fed up of bad sleep, up twice a night for a wee, but I wake approx every 45 mins as either too hot/cold/uncomfortable and then drift off again. I'm waking more tired every day!

Moan over Grin

Sephy · 17/03/2013 09:09

Ooh I've had a bloody nose as well. Pleased that's a symptom, as like some others, i'm feeling decidedly normal at the moment. Hungry all the time, and very occasionally a little queasy, but concerned they'll laugh me out of my scan if I'm still like this then.

I'm almost sad the constipation has cleared up, as it was at least evidence of something odd!

The week before scan we're going to stay with MiL then my parents. Feel sure MIL will guess, as her first Grandchild is a few months old, so she'll immediately pick up on no wine, no homemade ice cream (raw egg), no Parma ham etc. So then we'll need to tell my parents too to be fair, so then it'll be even worse if the scan goes badly!

HotSoupDumpling · 17/03/2013 09:11

Haven't logged in for a few days, and I'm completely put of the loop!

Really sad to hear of mrsE 's bad news. I hope that (touch wood) if anything goes wrong for me I can learn from the positivity I've seen from this thread.

roofio, umlauf, I can sympathise. My MIL cannot keep a secret at all and is so overbearing. My own mum, when asked on the phone by a relative: 'So, is Dumpling having children?', said coyly 'you'd better ask her yourself' and passed the blimmin phone over. Arrrggghhhh!

juniper, that sounds like one godawful day.

Natalie, I'm also blowing my nose and having nosebleeds all the time.

Also, am not showing first thing in the morning, then as the day progresses I eat, drink and get bloated and end the day looking about 6 months gone and having to undo my jeans button!

Had a lovely midwife at our booking appointment. Fingers crossed we'll have her again.

pinkmoonlight · 17/03/2013 10:18

So sorry Mrs E Thanks

I've got my booking in appointment on Wednesday, hopefully will then get a scan date Smile Have felt so rough this past week- I was so pleased to reach the 8 week point on Friday but it has also marked the beginning of horrible sickness. I seem to be doing things backwards, I thought it was meant to get better not worse! There was me thinking I'd got away with it! Poor DH has just cooked and eaten a fry up by himself in the kitchen as the smell of it is making me heave! Sad

Haylebop12 · 17/03/2013 10:28

Good morning ladies

umaluf sorry your feeling so much pressure. Just try nod ignore it all although I know how difficult that must be.

natalie sorry your feeling so rough. Just think of the end result. It'll be here before you know it and all this will be a distant memory!

I was discharged yesterday lunchtime after spending 2 nights in. Think they kept me as it was weekend so no routine ops taking up beds and enough staff to keep me. I had 7 litres of fluids! Anymore and I may have burst!

I feel better (always do when I leave!) but in on the same medication so we will see how it goes. They're not changing it so said if I just have to keep popping in and out until it passes then that's ok!

I shall be 10+0 tomorrow so fingers crossed it will settle. Unless the horror stories I hear are correct and it could last forever!!!

Private scan tomorrow, excited, scared, anxious but I need some reassurance as my nhs one isn't until 13+1.

Anyone got any nice plans today?

OrangeBlossom2 · 17/03/2013 11:18

Juniper I hope the results are clear, so worrying that you have to wait. If it is any consolation, a child in my class had it a few years ago and it didnt spread to anyone else so I dont think it can be highly contagious. Children are so germy, I have had chicken pox, scarlet fever, impetigo, two children with an unidentified warty, oozing rash on their face, and loads of diarrhoea and sickness bugs in my class since becoming pregnant as well as all the usual snotty noses and general 5 year old disgustingness. Every time someone has something weird I hide in my cupboard and google it on the Internet and send children home ASAP if they mention any illness. I think the parents are getting quite annoyed! My hands are really dry from over doing the antibacterial hand gel. It is difficult not to be a bit paranoid at the moment.

Natalie yes I have blood every time I blow my nose too. My DH got excited when it started as it was one of my first "symptoms" and had just read about it in his book for dads.

TheFalconsmistress · 17/03/2013 12:36

Morning Ladies,

I am 12 weeks today but I am sorry to report I don't feel any magical relief.

natalie I feel like all i have been is ill since bfp too in fact before I was in getting my appendix out in Jan while I was very early pregnant (it was never pick up) as I had appendicitis before that I had noro virus so i have been feeling ill since new year!! Hopefully the iron I have been prescribed will help me feel normal for a few weeks Grin

cuillereasoupe · 17/03/2013 17:27

I'm not feeling too ill but I am knackered to the bone all the time. Like I woke up at quarter to eleven this morning (I never sleep that late) and now all I want to do is have a massive nap. God knows how I'll manage at work tomorrow (first day back after 3 weeks off).
