12 week scan this Thursday for me. Finally, the wait will be over Grin

Haylebop12 · 11/03/2013 21:05

I've just worked out because of Easter my scan is at 13+1!

Just trying to sort with DH about private scan sometime this week or next but between moving house and his shifts looks like ill be going alone! (It with my mum :-))

Sephy · 11/03/2013 21:39

Sorry to hear the bad news earlier tops and bird. Look after yourselves.

I've just got home to find two letters fr two different hospitals offering me booking in appoinents and scans! So it looks like the one I actually want to go to - 1 hr 20 away - will scan me on 8th April after a consultant appointment in 2 weeks time. Very pleased to have a date at last and even better that it's in the school holidays so my teacher dh will be able to come. Only downside is that it's on a day I was meant to be back at work after a week's holiday and the hospital is notorious for taking ages with antenatal appointments. Still, overall I'm really excited. Any scan date buddies out there?

roxvox · 11/03/2013 21:44

jelly I have been suffering majorly in that department too... On Saturday though I had baked beans for lunch and they cleared me out within a few hours (sorry tmi but its the truth - was quite a shock!)

Like you I have been trying to keep my fibre and liquids high, but, prior to Saturday, I hadn't managed to go properly in absolutely ages.

OrangeBlossom2 · 11/03/2013 21:45

So sorry to hear your news topslou and birds. Thanks

Found out two women at work are pregnant today. Wanted to shout me too me too! Boss was talking about how we are already over budget on staffing costs and have to make cut backs. When I let her know I will be off too I don't imagine she will be too happy! Oh well, luckily there is nothing she can do about it. I guess schools have a higher maternity pay load due to such a high proportion of female staff.

pinksky · 11/03/2013 21:48

That's great Sephy, how nice to have your dates. Why so far away? Will you also have your baby there? I won't get my scan date until after my booking in appt (next thurs) but I imagine it'll be close to yours as we have similar EDDs Smile

Smitten1981 · 11/03/2013 21:53

I'm a scan buddy sephy counting down the days.

thethreeblondies · 11/03/2013 22:00

I'm being scanned on the 8th too Grin

Irishfairy · 11/03/2013 22:08

So sorry to hear the bad news topslou and birdsdoit.

Rockchick1984 · 11/03/2013 22:25

Sephy Smitten and Blondies I'm 8th April too - 11am, what time are you guys?

Sephy · 11/03/2013 22:39

Mines at 12pm, so I'll have to go into work first and try to concentrate!

Going to a hospital in London rather than my local as I've got some other health ishoos which make this a high risk pregnancy. Hopefully all will be fine, but I'd rather be looked after by the experts of possible.

So pleased there's a nice crowd of us!

That must have been so hard to stay quiet Orange - at least you'll have plenty of people to compare notes with when your secret's out!

Smitten1981 · 11/03/2013 22:59

Mine's at 9am, bright and early so less anticipation on the day.

roxvox · 11/03/2013 23:10

Mine's at 8.20am on the 28th March... Glad it's nice and early, and the hospital is only up the road. DH did have a meeting that day on the other side of the country that he has cancelled so he can come with me too Smile

Can't wait to find out what's going on in there!

cherrycherry41 · 11/03/2013 23:30

Im 8.20 on 27th march, so nervous! Just over 2 weeks!
Have i got a scan buddy? Grin

tackytiger · 12/03/2013 06:21

Sorry to hear the bad news tops and birds. Thinking of you.
Less than a week to my scan - 9.35 on Monday 18. Whoo!
So looking ahead to 20 week scan-who is going to find out the sex?
We definitely want to, we did for dd as I don't want a surprise!

pinksky · 12/03/2013 06:51

Sorry I was being so nosy, sephy! Sounds great that you can go to the best place for you. My sister chose to give birth at a hospital in another part of the county (elcs) as her FIL was a consultant there. Worked really well for her

Sanjifair · 12/03/2013 06:53

Mine is 4th April. But it says in the letter that I have to bring my hand held notes and a consent form for the NT. Howeveri haven't got an appointment for my booking in yet! Need to try and sort that our today!

Natalieand · 12/03/2013 07:30

tackytiger I found out the sex with dd and will this time too for a few reasons, to help dd get used to the idea and baby can have a name for her to identify with. Also so I no if I need to keep/chuck dd things an plus I will have several extra scans due to being overweight so I couldn't just say no at 20 weeks and leave it be as ill be back a few more times lol. What about everyone else? Xxx

pinkbuttons · 12/03/2013 07:40

tiger mines on the 18th too! not till 4:15 though so a very long wait on the day.
We will find out the sex this time too, partially so we can sort out names (were really stuckn if its a boy) and also because we think it will be easier to explain to DS if hes getting a brother or sister.

34PinkLadyApple · 12/03/2013 07:49

Sorry tops and bird for the sad news, hope u will be back on a bus soon as you are ready. Flowers

Got my 12 week scan (first one) in exactly a week on exactly 12 weeks! Woohoo! Will be so nervous as im convinced due to lack of awful symptoms theres nothing there Blush just a sticky outy belly of gas! Half expecting scan person to say, ooh, you havent pooed for ages have you, did you have sausages three days ago?

Who else is getting scanned on the 19th? I think theres at least a couple but cant remember names. Mine is at 9.40.

What can i take for constipation? Tried diet change but still bunged up.

JellyCurls · 12/03/2013 08:07

34my bunged up buddy. Read back to last night the ladies offered me plenty of cures but think the sugar water has worked so no need to try the other cures yet. Tasted disgusting (very like lactolose) but is doing its job if only toilets here weren't two floors away Confused

favellio · 12/03/2013 08:30

Hi ladies,
Just checking in. So sorry for the latest bouts of sad news - sending you lots of good vibes and baby dust for the next time xx
I'm feeling a little less sicky now. I'm still getting nausea but not 24/7 anymore. Thank God!! My boobs are swelling out of control and I'm soooo bloated its crazy!!
We've told our families and close friends, but not making it public knowledge until after our scan. I've got my booking in appointment on 19th march and my scan on 10th April at 10am - have I got any scan buddies?? I think I'll be round 12-13 weeks by then.
On 22nd April we're going to Italy (our belated honeymoon, from marrying last August) and its all inclusive, so I'm not going to be able to drink SadSadSadSadSad I've found that the Alcohol-free koppaberg cider has been a god send as a treat on girl's nights in!!
Anyway, enough waffling from me. I hope everyone else is doing ok??xx

BowlFullofJelly · 12/03/2013 08:44

So sorry to hear the sad news tops and bird - take care of yourselves and please do pop back in and let us know once you have got back on another bus!

Am I the only person who doesn't have a scan date yet Sad. Have my booking in appointment is on Thursday when I will be 11+4! And can't book my scan until after that appointment. Am Envy at you all!

Am also preparing myself my for the infuriating booking in appointment. My last pregnancy at the same hospital I had 1st appointment of the day, and they kept me waiting for 2 hours before having bloods and weight done, and then other hour before I saw the midwife Angry. Midwife then commented on my blood pressure being high. Well yes, that's probably because I am FURIOUS! Seriously, I know they are busy, but how can you be 3 hours behind as soon as you open the doors??

Random and silly question - have an awful, pressurised headache since yesterday lunchtime. I rarely get headaches and never this bad, so do you think I need to get checked out as is a symptom of some horrible and random pregnancy ailment, or shall I take some paracetamol and get over myself? All opinions welcome! Grin

Wickedgirl · 12/03/2013 09:11

Sorry to hear your sad news tops and birds.

Jelly......I have been getting awful headaches but I think it is tiredness. Insomnia is awful.

My sickness has gone.......so it's just the nausea now. I hope that doesn't linger for too much longer

I have finally been sent my booking in (march 22nd) and scan (5th April) dates so finally I have something nice to look forward to.

What are your views on alcohol in pregnancy? Are you all staying tee total or are some of you going to have a very rare glass of something? My dh thinks I'm mad as I won't have any red wine at all. Perhaps after the 12 weeks I may have a very small glass once or twice throughout the rest of the 6 months.

Flyer747 · 12/03/2013 09:12

BowlFullofJelly, I also don't have a scan date, however I'm not as far along as you are, I'm 8+5 have my booking in appointment next Monday so hoping to find out scan date then, not really sure how any of this works as my first. I also had a horrid headache all yesterday, took paracetamol and its gone this morning, think it must be all those hormones raging through our bodies.
