Hi ladies. Just checking in again haven't been on for a whole thread. FX for you Topslou.
Had my booking in appointment today so really feel as though this whole pregnancy malarkey is real! Then got my scan booked for 23rd when I'll be having nuchal/bloods done as well.
Glad I'm not the only one getting porky round the middle! Much earlier than with DC1 but think my stomach muscles are knackered now. Even my (very sweet but unobservant) dad commented today that I'm "getting a bit of a tummy". I just hope I can disguise it at work till my scan.
Anyone got any advice for getting brains back in action? I've got a really big exam in May and need to start revising NOW. But every time I open my books I zone out and start thinking about the bean/next snack/how sick I feel etc. Cannot fail the exam as retakes are around my due date!!

PseudoBadger · 09/03/2013 21:35

So sick today :(

Natalieand · 09/03/2013 21:35

Wispa123 · 09/03/2013 22:11

Windeze......my new best friend...nuff said!!!!

Flyer747 · 09/03/2013 22:41

Natalieand I'm exactly the same waking up half way through the night and unable to get back to sleep for hours! Frustrating isn't it. I'm used to having crap sleep as my job (until I got my bfp) is a long haul air stewardess, I thought that now I'm not flying (just recently started my ground placement) it may have improved but it's got worse! It's doing my head in, I just hope it gets better. You have my complete sympathy. Good luck with the zzzz tonight.

legallyblond · 09/03/2013 22:59

Thinking of you Topslou... It is true that what will be will be, but do take it easy if told to as bed rest is vital for some causes of bleeding. My mum had a partially detached placenta with a younger sibling and bled heavily from 11 weeks or so - bed rest was essential and the bean is now my 6 foot 3 brother! But it was total bed rest with weekly scans until 24 weeks! Not ideal with 2 other children and dogs! Prob not the case here, but be kind to yourself!

Anyway, still very sick here. Sick many times a day. As others have said, don't worry about lack of symptoms! With DD I had NO symptoms at all apart from huge boobs - this time, ALL symptoms going apart from swollen boobs (only a size or so, and only just!). Still hardly showing - still in fitted work dresses etc - although the increase in tummy size after a meal (if I keep it down) is more pronounced than pre preg, if that makes sense... I didn't show until at all until about 16 weeks last time though, and even then never got huge (in fact, had lots of extra scans for "measuring small" by 6 weeks! Of course, I worried about that the whole way through....) Unfortunately, my stomach is generally in a bad state now (no muscles at all) so am bound to explode soon!!!

Topslou, keep us posted x x c

legallyblond · 09/03/2013 23:02

Ooh, flyer, perfect person to ask... I am flying to Spain and back at 26 weeks - fine according to the airline's website (fine till 28 weeks, dr's note needed between 28 and 34...) but will they quiz me on it, somehow need to check?

Sal1977 · 09/03/2013 23:23

I've literally just got in from doing a pamper party. 5 massages, 5 manicures and a handful of brow treatments...my back is killing me!

On the upside I was sat next to the butler in the buff for a good hour or so...bonza!! Grin

Haylebop12 · 10/03/2013 00:00

Nice to hear about other protruding tummies! I haven't put any weight on, well actually that's a lie... I have but only what I lost due to HG. Because I feel so sick ALL the time I'm eating what I want when I want (and getting used to it!)

I was very fit and had amazing stomach when pg with dd and remember going out for a Friends bday at 22 weeks still wearing normal jeans! Couldn't tell I was properly pg until 26 weeks ish and always measured small for dates. Don't think I'll be as lucky this time! Have already bought a fair bit on eBay but getting away with it hit now. I give it a couple more weeks! Away at mil's this weekend and she's drinking my favourite tipple, a cool crisp glass of rose! Not happy!!

Natalieand · 10/03/2013 06:59

How did u sleep flyer I drifted off at half 10ish the. Awake on and off from 3am now dd is awake so me chances of sleep have just gone out the window lol x

Iheartcrunchiebars · 10/03/2013 07:05

The sleep is so annoying. Started in bed. Couldn't get comfortable. Went to the sofa. Too hot! Ended up sleeping on the hard laminate floor in our office!!!

Happy Mothering Sunday everyone. This time next year it will be us xxx

Natalieand, I've not slept through the night since around bfp either. Generally a couple of loo trips then I wake between 3 and 5 and don't go back to sleep. I wonder if that's when bean does its growing.

DH gave me a Mother's Day card this morning. Aww. Smile have a good day all those who are already mummies.

We are telling family today, eek!

Natalieand · 10/03/2013 07:26

Your sleep pattern sounds like mine orange then infer frustrated at the thought of going to bed despite being exhausted dh and dd have just sneaked downstairs to organise something for me so I'm awaiting that ATM lol. And good luck breaking your news today :-) xxx

Flyer747 · 10/03/2013 07:40

Legallyblond- in theory if you are travelling before the 28th week of pregnancy, then no you don't need to inform the airline. However I am travelling to china at 20 weeks and also like yourself Spain at 26 weeks. I intend to call both the airlines I'm flying with to advise them how far gone I am, just so I don't arrive at the airport and start getting quizzed etc etc, plus in my experience once the crew know you are pregnant they tend to look after you better. The airline should have a special assistance/passenger assistance department who you'll need to advise of your pregnancy. We had a baby born onboard a flight a few months ago, one of my friends helped deliver it...the woman was 37 weeks and managed to get onboard unnoticed so I don't think airlines pay too much attention.

Flyer747 · 10/03/2013 07:45

Naralieand- yeah sleep a bit rubbish again, sent DP packing into other room with the dog so I could star fish in the bed! I hope you get a lovely special treat off your DH and DD shortly...all you mummy's deserve to be pampered and waited on hand and foot, have a lovely day,

thethreeblondies · 10/03/2013 08:10

Happy Mothers Day eveyone Thanks

I'm awaiting breakfast in bed Smile but then I'm off to work (boooo!) My DH also says we are going out for tea, local restaurant offering mums eat free!

Natalieand · 10/03/2013 08:27

Haylebop12 · 10/03/2013 10:03

Haylebop12 · 10/03/2013 10:03

dontworryjustpanic · 10/03/2013 13:42

Hi everyone, hope you're all having a good mothers' day. Very cute card and new slippers from DS (17mo) :-)

I'm 7+1 today and feeling sick as a parrot :-( I am really off food - but feel even worse if I eat nothing. My saviour is crumpets and marmite - would it be bad to eat the whole packet?

My friend told me one of the advantages of being pregnant is that you feel warm all the time but it's not working for me. I'm flipping freezing with the odd cold sweat when the nausea gets really bad. Sorry to whinge - can't wait to reach 2nd trimester.

RainbowsFriend · 10/03/2013 14:37

I'm bloody freezing as well, and only feel OK lying down.

Does anyone else have a problem drinking? I can eat sort of OK but liquids make me feel really sick so I know I'm not drinking enough.

My best thing today (had a card as well) - DP entertained DD for a whole hour so I could nap in peace :)

pinksky · 10/03/2013 15:12

Happy Mother's Day all

I'm struggling to drink, Rainbow. really not drinking enough which isn't helping digestion/constipation. Tea and coffee is turning my stomach, and even plain water. I have been drinking some skimmed milk, hot chocolate and San pellegrino lemonade (high in sugar but ok apart from that).

Also looking forward to the second tri here, but like you dontworry still early days - 7+3

Tarlia · 10/03/2013 16:43

I'm an April 3rd scan buddy too! Mine is at 1.30, I'll be 14+3 grrr so long to wait!

Hope all the mummys and mummys to be are enjoying mothers day Thanks

roofio87 · 10/03/2013 17:26

my dp just cooked a lovely steak dinner for his mum and family. was very nice, but I vowed to have a rare steak and blue cheese sauce as soon as this baby is born!!!! Grin

Rockchick1984 · 10/03/2013 17:33

I'm constantly thirsty but struggling to drink enough - orange squash is going down fairly well but can't manage much else! DH cooked me a lovely roast dinner, and I've got some lovely presents off DS. Can't believe I'll have 2 kiddies by next mother's day!! Grin

Don'tworry I've been freezing so far, but remember last time that I was cold/normal until about 20 weeks then I was always roasting - never forget going out for lunch in a sun dress at 7 months pregnant and still sweating - despite the snow on the ground :)
